It's a good point actually. I usually listen to audiobooks at 1.5x speed as it generally matches my own speaking/reading speed and anything slower is too slow and sounds unnatural. You can't do that in a VN, it's one speed only.

Episode 2: 2.5 months (1,709 renders, 77 animations).
Episode 3: 3.5 months (2,289 renders, 99 animations).
Episode 4: 4.5 months (2,532 renders, 134 animations).
Episode 5: 4.5 months (2,456 renders, 157 animations).
Episode 6: 5.5 months (3,336 renders, 162 animations).
Episode 7: 5.5 months (3,723 renders, 250 animations).
Episode 8: 7 Months (4,158 renders, 358 animations).
Interlude: 3.3 months (794 renders, 36 animations).
Episode 9: 9 months (5,037 renders, 303 animations).
Episode 10: 11 months (5,868 renders; 335 animations).

Notice a patern in time increase and content?
Every episode is larger, more animations, more scenes, higher quality. With the new system he can also do much more than he previously could. And he's now composing some of the music for the game.
So what is more likely, that the bigger size of the episodes means longer development time or that it's some dark conspiracy?

The main problem is if DPC continues increasing the time between episodes and the game will continue until episode 16, we are talking about it will be finished after a decade So if I have to choose between this option and DPC reducing some superflual things (basically new minigames and 60 fps animations) so the time between episode shortens, my decision is obvious

Specially considering there will be significant time skips this time around if we are going from Thanks Giving to Christmas, no way DPC can make all the people in the game not notice that Riona has been missing for days/weeks.

So she will probably be released right in the beggining of the episode after telling Vinny what he wants and to be a warning to Quinn.

until proven otherwise the only one who knows that Riona has been kidnapped is Quinn, besides Riona of course...

precisely because there will be a time skip we can't rule out Riona being there at the party, for all we know she could have been released the day after the abduction.

it doesn't seem forced to me to think that Rio's absence from the previews only serves to preserve the surprise. as it happened with Maya in the seventh chapter, where one could think that Patrick had taken her away or in any case discovered her.
