I agree that the first episode were funnier, but what I also find annoying in the latest episodes is the balance of lewd versus the rest of content. Lewd percentage has shrunk. Meanwhile, the time spent on minigames and roams increased. That becomes an issue on runs after the first one. When you have several saves to carry on and you have to mechanically repeat each tedious task. I feel DPC lost a bit the focus of the VN, what made it famous was the plot, the dialogues, the characters, not the minigames. The latter are just an add-on that some people like, but nobody plays and recommends BaD just for the minigames (or for its robotic animations).
Also the development time of those extras take him more time, that's why you observed a decrease of static rendering per month. He has too many aspects to deal with, so he has to cut somewhere, he cut lewd scenes and general renderings. Despite having a more powerful setup than the one of the first episodes.
