Totally agree that the excessive and unnecessary animations are the main problem with dragging on each new episode. But everyone's been saying that all along.
Yeah I know everyone's already been saying that, I wouldn't have mentioned it if the guy I was originally replying to didn't say "people act like hes not doing work" lol. Just don't like when people act like the grumblers have no reason to grumble.

okay but has anyone noticed how the girls are going from DIK to CHICK from lefft to right in the image for status updates?

I'll be honest I have never paid it any attention but have side girls like Quinn always been in status updates like that? Or has she been upgraded to a 6th main girl.

As I said I don't see any pressure from Patrick if first of all Maya can dress as she wants, secondly she is too outgoing for the withdrawn and under constant pressure daughter of a tyrant father, thirdly we hardly see any complexes about her appearance.
Not every person that has abusive parents becomes an introverted shell, there is not a one size fits all reaction to overbearing parents or worse outright abuse and trauma and I'm glad DPC didn't go that route with Maya tbh. My parents were crazy brutes, as in left Lafia at 14 and the country all together by 16 just to be free of their shit crazy. I became more outgoing outside the house not less and I have no major complexes about my appearence, even now in my magnificent Dad bod stage. Some people sadly do get cowed and broken down by cruel parents but others can go the completely opposite way. I wouldn't read much more into Maya's personality reflecting much on Patrick it just means he didn't break her down completely, nothing more or less. When he sees her at college he also has a problem with her clothes, as he does with her sexuality, her girlfriend, her talking back (as an adult), her roomate, joining a sorority etc. The level of control he expects over an adult woman because she came from his balls is fucking absurd. He also has zero compulsions about grabbing her when he's annoyed with her. He's seemingly a character that has no respect for boundaries where she's concerned.

What we do see is him trying to exert control over his adult daughter's life after using subterfuge and threats to gain that control, that is inescapably cruel, controlling and abusive behavior; he's a tyrannical figure in her life by any measure. Religion and his wife seem to be his motive for that because Maya isn't heterosexual. We see this in game considering his happiness Maya is dating or "dating" Fuckface compared to when she's risking friciton burns and forest fires with Josy. The reaction is very different and the core of all of it is relgiion and Maya's sexuality with his sick wife been the justifcation but every abuser has a bullshit reason why their abuse and need for control is okay. If Patrick wasn't a tyrant he would've been upfront with Maya about what she was signing and the conditions attached, he wasn't because he wanted her under his control.

TLDR- The game presents Maya and Patrick's problem in a pretty uncomplicated fashion. Sexuality and religion are the core with a sick parent and wife been an aggravating trigger and excuse.

I havent seen much of Lily in the release shots but given the 'warming up' route between her and mc had during thanksgiving camp out, personally id like to see this evolve further.. Although im still not 100% she isnt a cop lol
I've said this exact same thing in DPC's discord but not many share the same theory but eh we'll see.

To be an undercover cop, she really got into the role of a prostitute in a VERY believable way! LOL

It sounds like one of those jokes we make when the news reveal that a "massage parlor" was actually a front for a brothel, discovered thanks to officers posing as clients, and everyone cracks jokes like, "It took SIX MONTHS of hard undercover work, but they finally got it done."

deep cover operations have been cursed with agents/officers doing whatever they have to in order to maintain the cover.. be it drug use, selling their body and sleeping with targets to establish the ruse of being a part of that world.. think decaprio and damon's roles in departed.. sharon stone in Demolitionist.. (ok not a cop but same ethic) I honestly dont think she is.. but there are parts to her character that would allude to being in this type of situation.. cop or informant wise

For Sharon Stone, did you mean Total Recall?

Can someone remind me why people think Lily is a cop in the first place? Is it just how she has slowly gotten closer to Quinn, learning about the restaurant and drugs?

Exactly. It's not like there was nothing pointing to it. And knowing DPC, he proberbly wanted people to think there was more to it. While I also thought she was at first, it's pretty obvious now that she's not.
