What did he lie about in the past?
Well, first of all Him going to Full time developer, so he can focus more on the game for Faster and Better was already a lie, is it not ? :ROFLMAO:

It's Funny how he was able to release 3 update in a year , with a day job, while this was a side project, and if we add those numbers together, the actual quantity is almost equal to the recent episodes what take him even longer now, wihtout a regular day job and way better equipment

And how would it help if renders and animations get finished long he's finished with the writing, doing art and coding? Not to mention taking away something he enjoys doing will just make him get burned out on developing the game. They guy has said that the variety in the development is what keeps him going.
If you were a game developer, would you hire people to do some of the parts you enjoyed the most just because people think you should?

There are games that try to optimize things, like you suggest. One dropped from 7000 patreons to under 1300 because he "optimized" to get updates released earlier. If he did, as you and others want, and it all turns to shit, he loses most of his patreons and the game drops in quality, would that make you happier?
It's stupid to debate at this point the man is rich and set for life... He has multiple avenues he could take to speed up development but he takes none of them. The biggest burden on dev time was his decision to split the game into multiple paths at the end of season 2 now every episode requires progress with those paths... imo there is more chance of DPC burning out now as the development time gets longer every episode. Like working on an episode for 6 months to a year his goal is in sight but when it approaches closer to two years that's a crazy time investment for something by yourself.

If all game developers had that attitude then nothing would ever release. :LUL: Besides this is a visual novel... If he wants to handle the writing himself that's fine but setting up scenes with daz3d assets and creating sex animations doesn't require mozart. There are loads of skilled scripters out there too. Besides DPC is known for going off the deep end with his mini games nobody cares about and useless animations of characters running etc lol

If it really going to two years then this probably won't get finish or it will and no one will know it

So the size of the episodes and higher quality renders doesn't count? The fact that one episode is now as big as the whole first season? You expect an episode the size of the whole season to take the time of one episode in season 1?

People keep saying he can speed it up. But none of the examples would speed up the thing that takes most time, the manual workload. Less animation and shorter rendering time won't help if the rest isn't finished. Cutting content is the only way but nobody seems to want that. They want it all, just a shorter development time. Unless he hires writers and coders.
We all know a game similar to Being a DIK that hired people to shorten the development time, and we all know how that went. A messy second season, remaking episodes because the quality became much worse, massive bugs, dropping from 7000 patreons to less than 1300. Now that game is back to one lone developer and longer development time but that damage is already done. Was it worth it?

And that's the problem. Some of you see this as "just a VN" or "just a porn game", and you can't accept that it's more to him. He's not doing this just for you guys, he's doing it because he enjoys doing it and you guys can't accept that. You want a quick factory product.

Speaking from the perspective who has spent 100s of hours making detailed mods and stuff for games,

To me, if people are paying for the Patreon, then they're entitled to be upset or wanting faster updates. If you're just getting it from this site and moaning and berating DPC, then just grow up, it's a game/VN, if DPC wants to take a year for an update to ensure its good quality, he is well within his rights.

Do i want to play more, of course, but let the guy work at his own pace. If he rushed things to get it out quicker, people would moan. When working on stuff creatively, you can choose between quality or speed. Add in personal issues, and he's probably been burnt out at some point, it's a human being who makes this stuff, not just a robot that spams out work and has nothing else going on in life
