but did you read the post you quoted? because it says so right there

I did not complain about anything, I made an observation about Maya's characterisation.
Not really. You made a claim and you refuse to substantiate it. You are just vague about it. What is the feminist behaviour Maya isn't doing? What is the basis of the claim?

Anyone who reads "Assuming the average render speed stays the same, the PCs should be done with the animation queue on February 7-9 at the latest" and thinks that a February release is even remotely possible is crazy. Firstly, per the laws of the universe, "February 7-9 at the latest" means there is no chance it finishes before February 9. February 10-11 is itself optimistic. Secondly, is the thought that by the time the animation queue is finished everything else is also going to be finished? I don't think there is any reason to believe that. I'm sure DPC will find plenty of things to add/remove/change/playtest between now and then. Thirdly, what about beta testing? Zero-shot that takes less than two weeks. I'd leave 2.5-3 weeks. Fourthly, he only releases on Fridays. Even in the non-existent world where he finishes the update in late February, do you really think he would release the update on February 28 instead of collecting another month of pledges?

March 21 feels borderline optimistic but we then get into the issue of if it takes until March 28, does he then delay until April to get more pledges or is that a bridge too far? It was clear many months ago that March was the best-case scenario and this progress report all but confirms it.

These updates have gotten far too large and unwieldy. For the love of God, split them up into parts like other devs do. At this point, the next question is does Ep. 12 take a year and half to develop?
He has said as soon as the last render has done the beta testing lot will get it. So around the 10th of Feb. So you reckon its going to take 49 days of beta testing and fixing any issues......

No, you tell them on around the 22nd Feb that its getting released on 7th Mar. The masses run and update there pledgeor even subscribe again 1st March rolls round and everybody then get charged.

And DPC has essentially double dipped maximising his income.
True but loads of new subs late in the month equals, most not knowing you get charged on the 1st, not a month after you first join.
I was on a different patreon thing for two years, (sport thing) and you'd be surprised how many didn't know this.

Plus if he say has 10k subbing at the lowest tier, releasing end of the month they can just pay the difference to upgrade so not much different to waiting to the 1st

Free roams are much more complicated to project, code and debug compared to normal linear story. So cutting some in that aspect could really make development faster. But I don't think that's something DPC actually needs or aims at. When he'll publish the third season on Steam he'll make so much money he can easily forget any decrease in Patreon. Steam is now his goldmine. And just think about the boost when the game will be completed. He'll be rich even before publishing the full game.

He still has to do his final checks himself, so while it wont be on the 10th, maybe not even the 11th but It will be close.

If I was a betting man, I'd say there be 21 days of testing. but who knows? DPC might have a fair idea, but until he gets a solid idea He can not announce a release date. Its not like the testers are going to give it him on the 28th and he drops it on the first. there has to be some hype build up...

This actually depends on how the Dev sets it up. I just checked on one account my billing date would be the 10th and on DPC I would be charged $11.40 today then then again on the 1st Feb

I dunno, I think it makes more business sense to at least go for the hopes that people subscribe or up their pledges at the end of the month, ready for the update than drop it anytime, and have people subscribe to the tiers they want, download, then immediately cancel. I mean there will be people who do both...

But to maximise your income, you've got to at least go with the building hype, get them subscribing early (but late in the month) and potentially have a few opportunities to double dip rather than give them the option to just pay once, then immediately unsubscribe, giving you only one dip in the pot.

No because while he's busy waiting on his Super Dooper 120fps 8k now with smelly vision images to render, he can be busy, he has the time to plan, code and debug this kind of things. take them out and he's essentially just waiting on his machines spewing out images for him to code in.

God if he hates his machines being idle, fuck knows what he feels about himself being idle

Maybe its different then to the one I was in. Everyone was charged on the 1st for renews. But if you joined on the 30th it cost a full month price and then you got charged on the 1st again so a double whamy.

Yeah DPC's is set up like that. you can join today and be charged the full whack, then be billed again on the 1st Feb So yeah, I can kinda see how releasing it on the 28/02 would be beneficial. everyone flocks to join pays for a month of subscription on the last day, rushes off to fap, forgets to cancel and it's renewed again the next day. But at the same time, once you get the download, you have it. There is nothing stopping people from cancelling while it's downloading. after all they have what they wanted.

I can see both sides of the argument because, on the other hand, if he announced it at the tail end of a month, there's nothing stopping people from just waiting until the 1st to subscribe. There are chances to double dip here wherever, but my instinct would be like he did last time: announce it at the tail end of the month, hope people subscribe thinking that's when their subscription date would be, and release it after the billing date.

This week, I started by playing Others' and Isabella's branches. I feel very good about how the different playthroughs of the episode feel.

I've also played with a focus on mini-games and balancing the party planning mini-game. Then, I focused on replaying all the lewd scenes; although three scenes were missing animations, I could polish most of the content.

I checked that the Music app is updated with all new songs and works as intended. I also added a couple more SFX that I had missed. I continued working on Phone chats and Rooster, adding more chats, clucks, and gallery images. I believe I'm done with the phone content now.

I'm analyzing the code, flow, and choices right now. This allows me to spot well-hidden errors and oddities I have yet to encounter while playing. I've found several rare bugs resulting from nested choices and exceptions. This information also tells me which playthrough I need to test more thoroughly.

The episode is getting increasingly polished, and my lists of issues to fix between playthroughs are often very short.

The PCs are rendering nonstop, and over the last couple of weeks, I've tried to estimate their render speed and calculate how much more time is needed before they are done. It's tricky because each animation differs in speed, and I'm seeing a spread of up to 100% render time with some animations. Assuming the average render speed stays the same, the PCs should be done with the animation queue on February 7-9 at the latest. If I see that the speed changes, for the better or worse, I'll let you know.

Beta testing will commence as soon as possible after the final animation is complete. I will provide more information about that later. Next week, I will continue polishing and playing; it is the only task left on my checklist for this episode.

The final preview of episode 11 will be released sometime later this month. I think it's safe to say it's a preview you don't want to miss.

Have a nice weekend
