Quinn is a controller/manipulator. She likely doesn't want any of the HOTs below her to get out of line. The interesting thing is she isn't actually the "boss", Sage is. So I wonder how the loyalties of the HOT's align, is the "Sage faction" or the "Quinn faction" more powerful? It doesn't appear that Sage knows of the stuff Quinn does, so I think Quinn might make a play to take control eventually.

Maybe Quinn wants the MC for herself ,so the only free meal he can take it its her, and she is afraid he wont spend time with her if he can get the other Hotts for free, she could have send any of the other girls on him during the cumpetion and yet she choose to do him by herself, she wants to mark her territory.

I'm still hoping that she will be. For a super degenerate DIK MC she would be the perfect pairing, if being a DIK goes that way, instead of only being a chad.

Josy has been a bit of a mindfuck towards the mc the dropping of the bombshell that she was seeing someone at the beginning makes you wonder what else she is hiding

Mark her territory with the other Hotts, the only Hott who is a LI is Sage, and Maya if she manage to join, the others are all her puppets

I agree with you but we have stats for 5 girls. If Quinn would become one of them, that would require to rewrite the code parts that calculates MC's scores with girls for both episodes. So, I doubt that will happen but, who knows?

Yup, but she is probably one of the bad guys (alongside Tommy) and so she is a sort of engine that propels the story.

That's probably because despite being a side girl, she will be responsible for a lot of drama. Just look at both cliffhangers we got that were because of her.

Quinn is important in the DIK/HOT dynamic and a key piece of Maya's and I assume Sage's stories.. she is there to drive the story/conflicts, be one of the antagonists (depending on your POV) and to a lesser extent to introduce MC to other side-girls and potentially STD's.

It's my take (both from playing the games themselves and from reading various comments he's posted) that he has a personal philosophy he follows, which carries over into his writing - that is to say he really strongly believes in this idea of "personal growth through overcoming adversity."
In short, nothing good can ever happen to you unless something bad happens first. Now, here's the thing: this is a pretty solid life philosophy. It may not necessarily be one I subscribe to, but I'm a "live and let live" kind of guy, and as long as you're not battering me over the head with your beliefs, I'm pretty much ok with letting people do what they like. But this ties into one of my eternal gripes with the man's writing, and that's basically that I think he sells it a little hard.
I liken it to other writers who are popular but who have also developed reputations for being "controversial" in some way. Cake reminds me a little of Whedon sometimes. Ask Joss Whedon why he does what he does - why create all these beloved characters that you come to love so much, only to just unceremoniously kill them off in as brutal a fashion as possible, and when you least expect it? His answer? "Because happy endings are boring."
There are things I love about Whedon's writing. The aforementioned ability to create characters that you grow to love, for example. But I just wholeheartedly disagree with his take on how nobody is allowed to be happy in his settings. How nobody should be allowed to be happy.
Likewise, there are times I get the feeling that Cake is getting up on the pulpit sometimes and preaching to the gathered. He basically said as much with Acting Lessons as it was an intensely personal story for him, and etc. etc. It's him showing us his worldview - namely that "You take your lumps, you come out stronger at the other end."
A lot of people loved it. Obviously. I guess I thought it was a bit hamfisted, a bit over-the-top, a bit preachy. It all felt so... contrived. A scenario that was so twisted, so convoluted, and all so that, in the end, he could put two characters together and then hit you over the head with this message that "Hey, they suffered all this tragedy together, but now they're a stronger couple than they were before this all happened." I get what you're trying to say, dude. I just think it showed all the subtlety of driving a truck through the wall of my house.
Which is an unpopular view, and may beg the question: "Why am I here if I didn't like the game?"
But I did like it. As with Whedon, I think there are some things Cake does really well. He does humor exceedingly well. People have been talking about the BaDIK protagonist's stumbling around Isabella's house in a drunken stupor rearranging her furniture as being a hallmark moment of comedy. It is. He writes good comedy. I kinda wish he'd stick with it instead of trying to teach us "life messages" which come across as a bit melodramatic. But again, I'm kind of in the minority.
As a result, though, there are now a lot of people (even among those who loudly proclaim they love his work) who are "on guard" against... well... some form of treachery in this new game. All this idle speculation going on about who's going to die in what fire and who's secretly a drug dealer or secret agent or time traveling bounty hunter from the 65th Century... I guess I can't speak for anyone else, but I know it's at least my way of poking fun at how I just don't "trust" things to stay on the level. SOMETHING is going to happen. Because that's just Cake's style. That's how he operates. And he seems to have a fondness for the outlandish, for the melodramatic.
I said it in the AL thread, but I don't think I'd be surprised if "And then... ALIENS!" were to become a thing in this one. Just because. It'd be big, it'd be wild, it'd completely violate the internal consistency of the universe he's already written, and I feel like that's why he'd like it.
It would also make me slam my head against my desk in abject frustration.
(Which would just be a bonus.)
First of all, thanks for giving us a break from waifu wars... I can't even keep up with this thread anymore.
Secondly, I definitely agree with you on pretty much all points. I personally ascribe to this same worldview as PinkCake does and going through Acting Lessons, I was so engrossed into the narrative which read as very "slice of life" until the final act, which I basically sped through because at that point he lost me.
Acting Lesson spoilers to follow:
I felt like until the Leah reveal, he was walking the line between fun and tragedy pretty well. OK, so Liam has cancer. Melissa has an abusive step-father. Megan has unsupportive parents. That shit happens... They can lead to big tragedies. However, the final act was, as you said, so over-the-top and ham-fisted that I couldn't get over it. A sudden fire after all the other bullshit... REALLY? Leah is a psycho - REALLY? I mean come on...Yeah, life has its tragedies, but at that point it just felt like piling on for effect.
But there is one more point that you have to consider. Going monogamous with Megan during my main playthrough, I think had a pretty satisfying ending with being married and Liam surviving with Rena, which I think leads to another PinkCake worldview insight: that you can't have everything. Yeah, if I tried to bang all the chicks, things will have gone badly for me I probably would have lost a lot of people who I cared about.
Also, considering your comment about how PinkCake thought Acting Lessons was "very personal for him" and the general worldview of his games being very depressive, and looking at the final act of Acting Lessons where the main character undergoes therapy I have a strong belief that PinkCake has personally had (or still has) issues with mental health himself that stemmed from personal tragedies. This is why I think my initial theory about Maya may be more true than people think (the idea that she has a mental illness). Having dealt with several people in my own life who have had mental health issues, I just get the feeling that his portrayal of Maya seems a little too similar to behaviors I've seen in them (e.g. sitting alone in the dark, the "fake smiling", feelings of worthlessness and not being understood, the tendency towards self-harming decisions, etc.). Maybe I'm just projecting but I wouldn't be surprised if it was the case.

I just realized - we all assume she is the reason Chad is angry at MC but we really don't know. In fact, it would be more probable that the person behind that is Tommy. He has all the reasons for doing that - because he is an asshole; because he is a sadist; because he wants confrontation/revenge with AAAs...

True and even liking her i recognise this, but still is too obvious if only Tommy,Quinn & Chad are the "bad guys", something big and unexpected needs to happen to catch us off guard, like some of the L.I also being a bad guy or one of the teachers
