Could someone tell me how I can get 100% on the scene between MC and QuinXCamilla, I believe she licks the MC in the scene. I've gone full DIK and full Chick in different playthroughs and I keep missing it somehow, I must be doing something wrong.
You need huge DIK status which if I'm not mistaken is a score of +10.

I expect that slight change was to give the player notice (or false hope) that there could be a one-on-one relationship with one of the girls. That would mean more M&J drama down the track if they break up (either because of Maya's father or some other problem).
but we can't always be looking for an explanation that makes what we see credible .. the story should be credible on its own

here we have a guy who, with a seraphic calm, accepts that the two girls he dated have dumped him. and the next day one of the two tells him that she behaved like this only out of fear.

but Josy says practically the same thing even if MC proposes nothing and accepts the friendship, indeed in that case she blames him for not having fought enough the night before.

that scene is a disaster

Another day another felicemastronzo creating the same discussion about M&J

To be the least popular girls, they live attacking them daily, are they afraid of them or what?

I spoke of a scene in my opinion bad, which puts them in a bad light.

I think I also wrote quite well, so mine would be a defense to their characters, and an "accusation" to DPC.

I think he means that you started the discussion, not that you are a hater, relax. Maya and Josy fans have to support each other xD

I actually think the mansion repair minigame is really clever and well thought out, and I'll have no complaints if it remains well handled/doesnt become majorly punishing.
The shots minigames are just a pita, but this is definitely the way to go in my book, if youre going to have minigames.

Agree about D&G, obvious filler is obvious, but at least they're up front about it.

Perhaps mature was the wrong choice of word and I can say in all honesty if I were to continue as their friend following a rejection like theirs I'd feel the need to lay down clear boundries for there to be any chance of me continuing a friendship with them but point is I'm no the MC for this story. (i'm about a decade too old for a start)

That said people grow on you and those emotions can make it feel like people aren't using you/ or that you don't care if they are.

the arguement about the player being 'used' seems to apply to the majority of the LIs admittedly they don't reject to the same extent and expect you to save them.

It can take people years to Identify toxic people/releationships depending on their frame of reference and Prior to B&R the MC's frame of reference seems limited.

Edit: grammar sort of
OK I get your point but, do you get mine? Yes, the MC may be as you say (I don't think he is) but judging by the reactions in this and other forum's, about half of the players do not. So if you make a game or write a story where the audience can not identify with the main character, or the audience is pushed into reacting positively to other characters that they resent, is it a good story? I don't believe that it is, and that's the argument that I have been making here.

All this argument seems to be the old "friendzone" issue. But the problem is that is different to be friendzoned when you re alone and have one romantic interest, that when you have a whole harem around there.

Yeah, I think you made an excellent point and your right its not a good idea to write an MC people can't identify with.

I think being able to get the audience to react positively to characters they resent is the mark of a good writer, because of how hard it is prevent that from feeling forced. That said I feel like DPC has tried to do just but fell a little short somehow.
I say that because my guess is about 45-60% of the games fanbase either don't feel it is forced or don't care.

I'd say this is more of a byproduct of DPC working alone than anything else. Because working in a vacuum means you have no way of knowing how people from other backgrounds would interpret your work before it goes public.

Now those parts of the game have been released what matters is if DPC can turn it around to make the MC feel like a real person again when interacting with M+J on the rejection/friendship route. which is back to my earlier point of having the MC, at least internally, express conflicting feelings about M+J's relationship

Anyone in the camp of not caring about the whole Maya and Josy thing, it was over such a short time frame and so the relationship you had between the 2 was so casual that I couldn't really couldn't buy into the MC be upset about it

I was all

If the game reaches a point where you need to pick between those 2 and any other girl, I can safely say there won't be any hesitation.

Whilst some people might want that and they're obviously not going to get that, it's the rejection by Maya and Josy that is the main issue. The MC essentially says, "I want to be in a sexual/romantic relationship with both of you", and they shoot him down flat. It can be hard for people to wrap their heads around why he's still so friendly with them like he didn't just get dumped by 2 girls at the same time. Even if he doesn't dislike them for it, it should still be hard/awkward for someone to be around someone that just rejected them, but that isn't reflected at all in the game and the MC is seemingly acting like that didn't happen. In this sense, it's not maturity that he's showing, it's almost like he shows a sociopathic level of not caring, which is weird.

DPC didn't have to create a branching path where the MC's no longer involved in anything they do if he's rejected by them, and that's not the point being made. It's simply that the rejection path creates this odd situation, because of the forced interactions, where they're all acting like this didn't happen. If it had been the MC automatically choosing friendship on the DIK path then it would work better because he rejects them, which is something you'd imagine a DIK MC to do, but it also makes the continued friendship more understandable since he doesn't feel jilted anymore as he made the choice to be their friend.
To be fair to DPC, the game does address this head on, potentially in Josy's talk with a rejected MC (Maya's too, to a lesser extent) and automatically with Derek. The MC essentially says he doesn't like it, but he's found a way to move on and isn't dwelling on what he lost.

That said, it's definitely a case of too little, too late. After all the time dwelling on the whole M/J situation, we need more than a quick assurance from the MC to believe he's not only healed his wounds, but is comfortable hanging out with the girls who rejected him.

It would also help if the game added extra content specifically for the friendship path to show how the new friendship is progressing, rather than just give it a watered down version of the romance path. And I still say the game needs to do a better job of addressing the actual causes for the rejection, rather than using one-size-fits all dialog to that can't differentiate between DIKs and CHICK MCs who never showed enough interest in either girl.

I definitely think your automatically choose friendship idea would have worked much better.

I felt the mc waaay overreacted when Josy first shows up, so then, to paraphrase you, you'd think he'd go off the deep end when they finally reject him when he still wants a romantic involvement with them. And then strangely he doesn't. Perhaps he's already come to terms with whatever the outcome was going to be before he even confronted them. He's spent a few days (staying with Bella, Derek or Sage) thinking about the whole situation, so maybe when he tells them he's looking for "something more" he may have already emotionally prepared himself for the outcome. There are ways to justify they way things turned out, it's just for those players who felt hurt during that scene they felt their own personal reaction wasn't dealt with.
I think the whole point of that "Follow your heart" narrative was supposed to illustrate that the MC has reached a turning point in his life where is has stopped reacting on instinct (especially about girls) and has started to take a longer, more mature view. It's meant to be a big deal and a real milestone for the MC. Sadly, it's handled too quickly and the setup is too haphazard to have that sort of weight.

Plus, subsequent events just don't bear it out. Episode 5 is all about the MC fucking sidegirls (and a couple LIs) just because the possibility presents itself - to say nothing about letting Derek turn on the sprinklers. Episode 6 has those juvenile D&G sex scenes. And as I'll never stop mocking, the MC goes along with Maya's "no strings" nonsense even when he has no interest in any other girls.

So yeah, it's less a major milestone and more worn out billboard.

Exactly, and how can you be mad/upset after knowing you'll be sleeping with Sage or Bella after the "big" bomb dropped.

For me the wierdest part of M/J storyline is when he find they re both in a relationship and he gets angry and depressed. Is just like:
"Oh no, the girl who is cheting on her girlfriend with me is the girlfriend of the other girl who is cheating on her girlfriend with me. Why life is so unfair? I am not sure if i am going to the room of my friend who is going to drive me to the strip club i normally go, to the house of one of the teachers i am sucesfully trying to fuck or to the house of my friend, the sorority president where i will have sex with 6 different girls. Man this sucks".

It's all quite an odd situation because here we have a MC that is all like, "I really like that girl Josy who I worked with over the summer but she has a boyfriend, but maybe I've still got a chance with her since it doesn't seem to be going well and perhaps we'll be together if she gets in to B&R. Gee, that'd be swell!" But then he gets a blowjob off an unknown person through a glory hole, fucks another unknown person through the same glory hole, makes out with his roommate, fingers his roommate/makes out with this other girl he just met/fucks a random HOT, gets a titjob and blowjob off of the sorority president, flirts with the richest girl on campus and asks her out on a date, makes out with the librarian, gets a blowjob/ass fuck from a stripper, lets his teacher jerk him off in class, and gets a naked thighjob from his roommate/has a threesome with 2 HOTs. Then when Josy shows up, he acts like she was in the wrong because, seriously, how could she do that to him? After all, he was saving himself for her. :KEK:

Yeah, that reaction is odd from someone who can be a total manwhore. :cautious:

And sure, this is a porn game so there's supposed to be a level of hedonism, cheating, and unabashed promiscuity without apology for it, but with a game like this that is a cut above the rest in terms of its story delivery, it feels odd giving someone such a moral dilemma when they can be completely amoral most of the time.

Yeah, you got that wrong.

Prior to Josy walking into the dorm and Maya saying that she was her girlfriend, the MC didn't even know that Maya was in a relationship with anyone. It's right there in the game and has been discussed endlessly on this form.

Also the problem that most people have with Josy is that everytime the MC tried to bow out of that relationship Josy practically begged him to stay, leading him on to believe that there was a chance for something more between them and then just dumping him abruptly.

I'm not surprised that you don't understand the scene because it seem's like you havn't even played the game.

Bacchus you know very well that the out come is exactly the same if the MC fucks around or not. You also know that everyone of those side encounters is entirely optional.

As I've said before the MC is only a manwhore if the manwhore playing the game decide's he is.

Which is where the issue lies with a game that follow a relatively linear track regardless of choices. If a MC has played the field then you would think that this wouldn't affect him as much as it did because he hasn't been faithful to this person he hoped to have a relationship with, but if he focused all his attention on her, then perhaps it could be understandable.

This is where slight variation in how certain scenes play out can again come in handy, as even if the general events unfold along the same track, at least showing a different side/reaction to a scene based on choices can better reflect the effect of said choices on the characters in question.
