I fully expect DPC to screw us over in like chapter 7 or 8 with the ultimate cockblock - just as MC is about to bang Bella and her husband comes back and we get a shocked reaction and the chapter ends with a cliffhanger.Brah, just no.. <Insert that bella thumb sucking picture> She would never do us like that....... No, they're talking about Bella's husband James who we've yet to meet and only seen in a photo
I think most people actually expect this to happen, maybe Bella and MC being out on their first date and then BAM in walks the husband and i actually don't think DPC will make it seem like James will be a bad guy as one of the big theories is that hes MIA in one of the military branches so if thats true Bella can't really blame him for being gone so long as his life was probably already hell and then she will have a tough decision to make.

I don't understand this fandoms obsession with her husband, he's not relevant and won't be important at any point.
This veil of mystery surrounding Bella is all fan made. And people gonna be so disappointed when they find out it's all in their head.

I find this reassuring. Not only the uncompressed timeline, but his enthusiasm in the response with regard to the story. IMO, a story going slower than expected can be better than faster - could mean there’s more ‘content’ to pack in than DPC had originally anticipated...
It’s sounding like chapter 7 is gonna give us significantly more questions than answers.

Lol oh no, he definitely will make an appearance, there's a reason DPC left that thread open instead of out right saying he was dead, thats an easy way to inject drama into the game.

I know a couple of people here who will be amused to see him say this.
"Fan response, however, doesn’t affect the story." - Yeah, no shit, it just gets you banned from Patreon, Discord, and Steam.
I mean, from the outside looking in, it's still hard to see this, mainly because of the progression of the relationships.
The MC is already beating himself up over being with several other girls after telling Jill he's falling for her and automatically turns down the threesome with Nicole and Sandy, and it feels as though this game is going to start forcing players into monogamous relationships within the next few episodes with potentially 10 more episodes to go. If that happens, it could be quite boring from a lewd scene perspective, but on the flip side, to be able to still have lots of girls at the same time for the majority of the episodes without being tied down would seem odd given how they seem to be progressing fairly quickly towards monogamous commitment.
Their reluctance to answer this makes me think this is going to be the most important character in the story with probably the most important and potentially emotionally impactful character/story arc.
So maybe this means that whole "tuition ultimatum" may have some basis in Swedish society.
Overall, the one thing that really struck me about this Q&A is that DPC doesn't seem to see any fault in anything they've done and to me, that's a bit of a problem. No matter how good something is, you can always find fault in it, and even creators can find fault in things they've created. I'll bet if you ask Steven Spielberg about his life and work, he'd mention things in certain films he's made that he not too happy about and wishes he could have done differently, but there were several questions here where DPC is asked if he sees any issues with what he's done so far and he doesn't acknowledge any.
This isn't to say that DPC has to acknowledge any of the things that get brought up on this thread as perceived issues with the game, but seeing no fault in anything I think says a lot about DPC and why they don't respond well to even constructive criticism since I guess they perceive everything as perfect.

If i am not mistaken this suggests that there is a character more central to the story than it seems at a first glance. Otherwise he could simple answered the question. Since he didint seems he didnt want to make a spoiler.
So we re not even in the midle of the story. It s to be expected that the current events will not have inmediate and significat repercusions that could change the Status Quo.
This could only apply to the first moments of the story and not to the end. However Acting Lessons also had some comedy and happy moments and yet DPC accept that there is a shift on the tone. Perhaps BaDik is less dramatic than AL.

Doing another playthrough right, and DPC is in Sweden I think but im on episode 3 and MC tells Jill that he can't afford the hospital. Is he throwing shade at the land of the free?

Exactly. As soon as I saw DPC saying this will be longer than expected, I thought...how?? I just don't understand how DPC can have that much more story to tell in BaDIK. I mean I'm happy for more content, don't get me wrong, but once you narrow down the LIs to one chosen girl (or possibly two in the case of M&J) so early in the story, what's left to do over the course of several more seasons in a college porn game? If DPC doesn't allow for a harem, then it basically goes from fun, manwhorish hijinks to boring married life for a dozen more episodes.
I'm still waiting for the episode where i get to marry Jade, piss on tybalt (literally) and get burke arrested all at the same time.

If you are not on the Bella path, his return means nothing, if he even returns to begin with.
And the longer it takes for him to show up the more removed Bella might be from the MC.
It's like the Maya situation, if you aren't on her path you don't care about the drama with her daddy, I've played Mass Effect 30 times, I'm done with daddy drama. All I want from her daddy to drive a wedge between her and Josy so MC can swoop in and get with Jose.

It feels like he'd have to slow things way the fuck down, either by having each episode take up one whole in-game week but limit the interactions with all main LIs to just once or twice in that week, or make each episode just a couple of days and focus most of the content, particularly lewd content, on a couple of them.
If this game continues at its current pace, you'd expect him to be in an official relationship with Jill by the end of ep 7 or 8 which means no more Sage, Maya, Josy, Camila, Riona, Jade, Nicole, or anyone else except possibly Bella if those storylines continue to stay intertwined. Unless, the MC can continue doing things behind her back like in AL, but I'd wager most people prefer to play the field without consequence until at least 3/4 of the way through the game or close to the end.
