What the hell do you guys classify as "beta"? For me to call someone that, that person needs to be a grade A, super mousy, never-speaks-to-women-at-all levels of insecure, completely devoid of agency person.

Those guys in DIKs are just normal guys. These epithets of 'alpha, beta' have different relocations in life, and as a social theory, long disproven even in wolves where it originally was theorized. An alpha of a friend group can be a follower in work setting and etc.

DIKs like Leon and Jamie, I don't know why anyone would call em betas. They can score with women ( hell Jamie cheats on his now ex-gf regularly), just happen to be followers in DIK hierarchy.
Alpha animal
Transfer of the designation to humans.

The term "alpha animal" is used as an animal metaphor for assertive, dominant people - primarily men - in leadership situations to characterize position and habitus within a group or movement. The term can have a partly positive, partly negative connotation. In the negative sense, alpha can be similar in meaning to authoritarian, dominant, unwilling to compromise, power-hungry, and unwilling to cooperate. The positive aspects can essentially be summarized by the following adjectives: self-confident, proactive, committed, self-reliant, and self-critical.

All persons within a group who do not have these characteristics would consequently become Betas.

Looking at Leon and Jamie now, they are clearly Betas. They do not take any responsibility within the DIK fraternity. They just follow Rusty. Tommy is not an alpha either. No Alpha would willingly take a scapegoat role for Quinn.

Quinn is an Alpha woman with the negative traits. Sage is also an alpha woman. Therefore, there will inevitably be a choice between the two. I am curious to see who will be the leader of the HOT's.

MC is an Alpha with the positive traits. Rusty is also an alpha, but a weaker one than MC, which is why he lets MC move up in the group hierarchy. The joke with Tommy is, he sees himself as an Alpha and that is dangerous because he is not one. When MC beats Tommy and wins, MC relegates Tommy to his place in the group. That is why there will inevitably be a major confrontation between the two. What Rusty does well, however, is that he is looking for a strong alpha who can replace him as group leader at some point.

Sage is graduating soon so Quinn is in line for taking over but that's if she doesn't get caught for running a prostitution and drug ring. No way does that end well for her. All the rotten shit that's happening is going to have fallout to varying degrees. We already see that with Cathy's resignation since she apparently can't live down the image that got posted of her and Mona's removal from the college's computer system (that's going to bite Burke in the ass at some point). Seriously, just look at DPC's first game, that says everything about what is intended for how this one is going to ultimately end. I'll honestly be shocked if nobody dies. I also suspect Arieth is smarter than she lets on, knows she has crabs and is intent on spreading it to every guy she possibly can on campus considering how she wants to know who Josy and Maya had the threesome with so badly. Then there's Melanie who is obviously the one that Chad was cheating with that Sage is going to flip her shit over since that effectively breaks the HOT code, once she finds out about it. I could keep going but we all know these things, all in all, most of the characters in this game are royally fucked in the head to some degree and are going to get some harsh life lessons. This is why i'm seriously considering starting a new save and actively avoid all interactions that could potentially lead to trouble just to see where that path might lead.

im guessing yopur a female, guys when growing up face this challenge i like to calkl the " pussy test ". boys bully boys to see who are the pussys and who are dudes you never wanna mess with ever. pecking order ensues, alpha males are born. now back to tybalt slapping mc. any alpha, or any male that grew up in the pussy test/ pecking order era, has no choice but to respond, or forever be called the others "bitch" making the mc a pussy, and failing his pussy test. now other fights like the one with caleb can easily be walked away from if no violent attack has yet to occur, but once someone make physical aggressive contact , its game on.
There's the third category that came out of that "game" that most won't talk about, the outliers you could call them (ones that don't play pecking order). Its the ones that started the age old "its the quiet ones you got to watch". Young Mc falls into this category (once he fought back). Its the ones that have a long fuse and a horrible temper. But will return to a lower key behavior. Essentially the lone wolf (a form of a alpha in its own right). Even smart alphas are hesitant to fuck with. (Once lone wolf snaps). Dumb ones try and fail or it ends up bad.

an omega not discussed here is ironically both to an extent, omegas are usually crazy or out of the norm in some aspect. wierd folk, usually the one to take out an alpha and assume leadership of the pack by force or some other form of control. an omega can be tamed by alpha thus making the omega appear and behave like beta follower. but should that alpha dissapear , remeove himself from the pack. or make a seriously bad judgement call, theres no alpha to control him, thus he takes control by force. while rusty is an alpha and the mc an alpha, i suspect tommy to be the omega. the right alpha can control or tame the omega. and i think mc bonding with father tommy is working on that to a degree, hence the fight. in a pack of wolves the alpas and the omegas fight quite a bit.

I can testify to this, unless they are dumb as a brick and do it for shits and giggles to see what happens when the "quite" one finally snaps.

Sage is before you graduate, that's true. But she has a responsibility to find a worthy successor as president for herself. Until EP6, Sage sees Quinn as a worthy successor, but Sage knows nothing about Quinn's side businesses. And that's where I think Heather comes in. For me personally, Heather is hard to judge. She has the potential of an alpha female, but not the place in the hierarchy of HOT's. Heather could only get that if Quinn is discredited and given a higher rank in the group by Sage.

Melanie I think will not be Chad's fling and Arieth just wants her fun.
There's another that I think could turn out to be a contender. Granted she's new, but kinda is a mixture of both sage and quinn (without the "questionable choices") and thats lily. And could be something similar to mc's role in the dik hierarchy if it plays out. Granted she may just end up being an antagonist to quinn, but could easily quickly move up the ranks within the hots like mc did with the diks.

 define what is the DIK attitude.? No deny that it was Vinny who showed them a path, but he affected the others with his bad influence. The Diks were fucking leechers, freeloaders. All they did was enjoying Rusty's money or more properly his Dad's money. once it was gone, we saw what kind of peoples the Diks truly are, , a bunch of loser. That is the Legacy of Vinny. The first real trouble real obstacle breaks them.

That's Why we have a direct comparison with MC and Vinny. Vinny was the bad way, MC is the right way. What the DIK attitude will be, it will be define by the MC , by us. at least that's what I think :)

Good point. Lily could turn out to be a positive alpha woman. She has all the makings of one. (self-confident, proactive, committed, self-reliant and self-critical).

The term "alpha animal" is used as an animal metaphor for humans.

The term alpha animal is derived from alpha, the first letter in the Greek alphabet: Alpha animals are therefore the "first" (i.e., highest-ranking) animals in their group. Accordingly, the animals immediately following them in rank are called beta males or beta females, and those in last place in the hierarchy are called omega animals.

Tommy is not an omega. Tommy is a beta who personally thinks he is an alpha. Alpha's are challenged by Beta's, which is why there will be disagreements between MC and Tommy.
dali you just described an omega, i did say omegas act like betas. betas normally arent seeking power or leadership roles. omegas are the guys you usually see as lieutenats to an alpha. alphas use omegas as right hand men. the ones who help keep the pack in line when the alpha isnt present. so yeah tommy is omega. currently in a beta role. but his interactions with quinn, clearly suggest to me, that in a future reveal tommy is seeking to usurp rusty, just as quinn is seeking to usurp sage. in quinns case, its gonna happen regardless when sage graduates. but in tomy rustys case, they grasduate the same year. so something has to change for tommy to usurp him, perhaps a photo of cathy nakid cluck on the dik laptop will put the omega in charge

in batman the joker was omega until he usurped grissom, makeing the joker the new alpha but yet still omega, cuz his crayons always color outside the box.

khan from startrek typical alpha.

in warriors the bad guy/villian was prolly omega as they come.

batman poisen ivy, very omega. kills her alpha and colors outside the box extremely well but seeks a new alpha in mr freeze

there are a lot of choices to be made with care because they will bring consequences .. for example to go or not with bella, cathy and / or jade .. if burke gets everything practically you can recreate the laptop gate .. it all comes out and becomes a scandal .. punch tybalt or just go with tommy to the strip club with the fake IDs ... in my opinion there is a lot of trouble in these too .. since the beginning of the game they try to put the MC by force in matters as a scapegoat .. they succeeded with chad .. at some point all these choices will surely ask for the bill ..

Bro, while I agree with you that we havent seen much of Heather yet, everything that we have seen, is the exact opposite of beeing an alpha.

1) When she is in her wheelchair she is outraged at Tommy - he tells her to beat it and the quietly rolls on.
2) At the pool Quinn puts her in her place and she caves.
3) In the Prep Mansion bathtub, she says she doesnt wanna look at MC, girls tell her to do it, she does it.
4) Same place she says MC doesnt turn her on, girls tell her it should, she starts rubbing herself.
5) Movie night Quinn starts the anal/blowjob/threeway game, Heather becomes super insecure.
6) Sage route, MC catches her on the sofa, she gets bitchy, you put her in her place, she caves and appologizes.

I think the most natural successor - if its not Quinn - is Sarah, however, nobody knows what will happen to her if Sage finds out that she knew about Chad all along.

i agree heather is no alpha, very insecure, but she seeks sheltering relationshipa with alphas. willing to follow orders says she is beta big time. not a successor, not a leaderr. i dont see her replaceing sage.
