Nick was looking for laptop in library because he suspect Vinny did it, not cuz he knows it. His room wasn't trashed cuz Vinny just couldn't do it to his friend. We know that Nick meets Vinny from time to time, Vinny left the DIKs after losing the fight for VP with Tommy. Vinny is drug dealer just like Quinn and Quinn trust him.
There is many details that lead to conclusion that Vinny did the Cathy cluck (all DIKs have access to Rooster account before cluck. Cathy's photo was taken in jocks gym for sure, pretty sure Dawe took it cuz he hates Cathy), trashed the mansion after jocks (jocks definitely broke the windows - you can even see the dildo, that Dawe was holding, in library room on the floor). Remember hand writing in Rusty's room? Vinny definitely did it just like he did in library while pledging.
What for he did it? That's the question holding for now.

btw I think you have better leverage if you don't fuck Jade... and close everything right after the footjob, and after that when Maya tries to talk to you and you are with KRJ in the class, tell Jade that "Maya is keeping things from you", she will confess that her husband is a cheater and how she was reacting to all of this and tells you about Cathy and that you already have 1 secret to keep, then leave. Otherwise Burke will have neighboors as witnesses / Sage maybe with binoculars from somewhere and a video if you try to share it. Same goes to Cathy, after the swyper talk (btw when she asks you is this your cock don't confirm it, tell her I know it's huge...) and Isabella's house talk... go with her but do not take advantage in Isabella's car and don't talk about it with Dereck via phone, or Rusty or try to charm her in the Magnar's game (or don't get involve at all Rusty will manage to resolve the situation without your help). Ofcourse if you like to pursue all the scenes you will have to make multiple saves, but I think this is the right approach about the whole situation...

how could Vinnie have personally uploaded Cathe's photo? they would have noticed him going in or out, so what would Nick be doing in the library?
the photo would have been taken in the Jocks gym, Dawe hates Cathe, but that would be evidence against Vinnie?

Correct, we have absolutely no known motives as to why Vinny would want to expose Cathy, nor why he would want to compromise Rusty's position.... Perhaps if he could pull it off somehow to get this all blamed on Tommy but i doubt he would risk getting all the DIK's in trouble just to have a chance to get back at Tommy... most are his former brothers and he's still on very good terms with Nick...
The laptop being found in the library is just one part of the picture, it's more important to know where the laptop was to begin with.... we know John Boy said he didnt enter Rusty's room earlier because he heared a woman and didnt want to disturb Rusty during the act...
Dawe has atleast the motive to expose Cathy and the Jocks have the motive to compromise Rusty as payback for loosing their president Chad... But it's unlikely any Jocks where at that party so who had the opportunity to get to that laptop?
Nick has a reason to be sitting in the library.... John Boy has a reason to be in that hallway since he's waiting in line at the toilets... Why is Riona sitting there by herself though? and who is in that toilet? Why dump the laptop in the library since it would have been much easier to dump it in that room with the benches on the other side of the hallway... (coming from Rusty room anyway.... )

Before we get know the facts about Vinny there is no clue who did it but in later episodes all things come together.
