I got 2 quick questions.

1- Swyper will be ever comeback?
2- Last time i played this game with cheat mod and you can change some variables. And there is a tab for Rose. With all my playthrough it was empty. Is there anything with strip club favorites?

With best regards, Thanks.

Yet, I've only played the entire episode meticulously two times, in two different ways. I have several more playthroughs to complete, and I have yet to see everything the episode has to offer.
So we are waiting for 2 parallel paths. The separation of the ways of diks and chicks was also in previous episodes, but it was insignificant. Most likely, the ways of hots and third-party girls will be blocked for chick. And Dik will lose Jill and someone from M/J.

  • Out of 28 animations left to render, DPC managed to produce 17 (60%) with 11 left; meaning an other week.
  • Basically, seems like it still have about 2 weeks of polish and cooking before betatesting.
  • Checking the last 3 EPs, the betatest period before a release is about 7 to 10 days.
  • Seems like we are now indeed in the 3-Weeks period. And with all optimism, October window is dead.
  • 11-16 November seems to be the more valid estimate as today. 18-25 November if catastrophic.
  • We had 6 out 8 or 6 out 12 rooster preview, who steadily release about each 3-4 days. One might drop tomorrow.

This will be my final status update for episode 8. It took a while to get here, but here we are.

Currently, there are 11 animations left in the animation queue. I expect them to finish rendering during the following week.

I've been playtesting and polishing the game all week.

Yet, I've only played the entire episode meticulously two times, in two different ways. I have several more playthroughs to complete, and I have yet to see everything the episode has to offer.

While playing, I wrote a checklist with 300+ things to fix and polish; this is common for every episode. I've been working on fixing everything on that checklist. I've added and fixed dialogue, renders, scenes, code, phone content, animations, and more during this week.

Next week I will continue to polish the episode and perform my personal playtests. I will also ensure that the save transfer between Season 2 and the upcoming Season 3 works as intended.

My beta testers and proofreader have gotten a heads up, and I will send them the episode as soon as I finish polishing it.

Before my inbox gets full of beta testing DMs: Thanks to everyone who offers help, but I do not need more help with beta testing.

After my team has started work and made progress, I can give an ETA for the Patreon release.

We are down to the nitty-gritty details of development, and that's also where the devil is.

I will post information regarding beta testing and release dates as soon as I know something more.

Have a nice weekend

Dr PinkCake
There should be a thread only for this kind of posts. When people comes to this kind of popular games looking only for some information about release dates have to dive into dozens of post of theories, discussions and things that are not useful information. It would be good two separated threads: one for useful information only, with posts like this one, and another one for debate and theories.

Almost nothing to show, lots of data to read.17 animations in the last week, 11 to conclude, we could suppose that these will be ready for Tuesday or Wednesday, and if the final adjustments run the same luck, Thursday for betatesting start?
If luck is with us, 12 November is still a solid bet. (but we would have to prepare for the 19th in case something is delayed).

This forum need a Sticky Post function, so mods/staff can stick them on top of all pages

You think the theories and discussions are bad, wait until the episode actually comes out and there are hundreds of posts asking for links and saves and help with bugs related to the game and mods :KEK: If you just come here to see status updates, you have it easy. People who actually want to talk about the game can't do it in this thread for weeks after a release without getting their posts buried by the same requests over and over. So yer, there should be another thread for discussion and theories no doubt.

With an estimated size of 18 GB for episodes 1-8 and DPC already implementing a system to handover saves from coming episode 8 to next episode 9, DPC should consider to split episodes 1-8, too, e.g. into season 1 (1-4) with 6 GB and season 2 (5-8) with 12 GB. (For an even split, 1-5 and 6-8 would be better, or a split into 3 parts 1-4, 5-6, 7-8.)

Those separated episodes/seasons could share the same savegame folder and if implemented/stored could check which savegame is valid for which version and so prohibit the player from loading savegames which are not compatible with the started episode.

My system has 32 GB RAM, but I already noticed loading times when starting current version episodes 1-7 with 14 GB, so maybe ren'py has some problems when it has to deal with big size projects. We will see soon how well ren'py can deal with a 18 GB project.

Besides splitting content, DPC could also check if there is some room for more efficient graphics coding. The compressed version of episodes 1-7 only uses 3.5 GB which is ca 25% of the original size.

You think the theories and discussions are bad,
I don´t think are bad. If people like them, great, have fun. I´m just not interested, specially when I only want to know if there are any news about a game. I would like that popular games would have a thread only with news and maybe, if the mods are able to keep it clean, helpful information about the game, like help with bugs. And another one for debate, discussion and things like that. I don´t like to waste time searching among hundreds of memes, theories and fights about the best Li, when I´m just trying to know if there are any news about the game from the dev, or if someone knows a way to fix a bug.

If you only use the search button looking for the N7 you will easily find the updates of the progress of the chapter... less crying and more learning to do things on your own

And by the way you are doing offtopic here we only talk about the game, not your problems

Where's your community spirit?

Chatting with all these people about the game is almost as good as the game itself. :giggle:

But if you're just here to grab the game, get people to fix your bugs and then be on your way, of course, don't let us stop you. :cautious:

By the way, who do you think would be able to help you with issues with the game, if not the enthusiasts that live and breath it?

Agreed. An active community like this actually makes it easier to find the answers to you questions. Yes, release speculation might get lost in the conversation, but the People who post here regularly are pretty good at answering questions, sometimes repeatedly, because we know the search bar isn’t great.

If there was and update and help thread and a general conversation thread I wouldn’t go to the first, because I’d get the information from the latter.
