Other option was that Melanie was Chad's sidechick, but last episode proved that theory wrong. So something weird is going on there, but I believe that she is Troy's sister and she's playing cover for them.
Well, both Melanie and Sarah are in it together whatever it is, just seems to me Melanie is the one with a minor loyalty crisis, while Sarah seems more likely a character to be the one responsible for their part in the whole situation. Melanie is more go with the flow, while Sarah is more of a go-getter. And we all seen how DPC handled the "Sage father at the party" buildup, we get a revelation she's adopted in ep 8 for it all to make sense.... There's some link to Troy but there's been some party where Sage wasn't attending and things happened there... so maybe we get to see that in a flashback in ep.9 ;)

So you're telling me that we are getting a Troy, Chad and Stephen threesome flashback? :Kappa:

it seems to me the opposite
the one motivated and involved is Melanie, who has a motive well above the theoretical loyalty to Sage, Sara knows what's behind it but she only participates as Mel's sidekick, and maybe for some personal aim of her own in HOTs power games.

how does the fact that Sage's stepfather is Burke justify her wanting to avoid him (though so and so grateful to him) at the very Preps party, when Burke is present at BR all the time every day? even in Bella's library where Sage goes to study...

I'm tired of seeing literally the same theory on a weekly basis, that Josy and Jill are related, like there are no hints about it, it's not referenced or foreshadowed at all in the game. The whole damn thing starts on the basis of that they wear the same color of pants.
If Josy and Jill are related based on the color of their pants what about Josy and Bella their hair style is kinda of close so they must be family right:LOL:

Well saying kinda close might pushing it a bit but I can still see it or I just like looking at Josy and Bella:love::love:

Doesn’t sage herself explain it? She’s avoiding him because he’s a kiss ass. At these parties he spends his time sucking up to people and it’s embarrassing.

Day to day he isn’t around donors and alumni. At prep parties he’s acting differently and she doesn’t like that.

id have to replay to get direct quotes but my recollection was she didn’t like how he behaved at these parties so avoided him. Irony being she was there to raise money too.

That's the weird part though - we've never seen Burke acting in the way she described him. He's never been anything but friendly, mild-mannered and diplomatic with other characters, but these descriptions vary so much that it's weird seeing it like that.

That was also the line that threw me off at the party and made me think that the manbun guy was her dad.

Sarah just isn't sidekick material like at all... The fact fact you mention she might even try to be a player in the HOT's powergames should say enough... Even when you first meet Sarah and Melanie after the cumpetion it's clear Sarah is the leader and Melanie the tag-along happy camper..

Yeah, there was Burke and there was the mysterious manbun both looking for their daughters...
Sage was hiding in Tybalts room because her father would not look for her there, of the 2 of them only Burke was likely to ever visit Tybalts room.... On top of that Burke was trying to get busy with Mona.... And lets be fair.... How would it ever be unknown on campus that Sage is Burke's adopted daughter, like same time literally everybody knows who Tybalt is and his connection to Burke....

It would only prevent, Josy and Jill having sex with each other, But MC Josy and Jill, can have their fun, it would be just, while you Fucking Josy, Jill just masturbating, waiting for her turn , and vice versa.
It would be like the weaker Threesomes in porn, where the two girl, dont touch each other in an way. Not my favorite, but if the girls are Hot, who care right ? :devilish:

sa "Everyone's so fucking fake and my dad even showed up tonight."
mc "Your dad's here?"
sa "Ugh... Yeah. That's why I'm not downstairs and have turned off my phone. I'm avoiding him."
sa "He's just here looking for new business opportunities and kissing asses. It makes me sick."

I assume you mean this

aside from the fact that we know Burke was there, how does this dialogue and the whole situation make more sense with him being the stepfather?

we never see him talking to any other "adult" besides Jade so the question of Sage's awkwardness can't be traced back to him (in fact a lot of people were pointing to the man with the bun who actually seemed intent on looking for business partners), so if what Sage says was supposed to be a clue it doesn't frame Burke

since the HOTs are around I think Burke knows Sage should be around, so avoiding him only creates a displeasure, an offense. if Burke was a visiting parent only that night, avoiding him makes sense, instead so she disrespects a person she will then potentially see every other day in college

then there is the general contradiction between the gratitude that Sage says she has towards her adoptive parents and the fact that she always speaks badly of them and in a negative tone (a love like Josy's for Maya...)

I think the mistake here was, that DPC try to lead us into a fake direction, with that Random guy, searching for his daughter. I think it backfired.

You are absolutely right, but with Chad (or Troy) it is evident that Melanie is the one who is the contact, the one who sets him in motion.

then it could be that Sara has manipulated her for her own personal purposes, but upstream there is the undefined relationship between Melanie and Chad (or Troy)

sar "This will make it easier when Chad breaks up with her."
ml "I'm gonna go call him."
sar "Easier...but Sage will still be furious."
ml "If things ever go south..."
ml "...you'll have my back, right?"
sar "Don't I always?"
ml "I'll always have yours too."

It doesn't make sense, that's the whole thing, besides that conversation there was also Jade throwing picture frames at Burke, one of them we never got to see the picture, people argued it must have been Sage, but in general nobody believed Burke could ever be the father of Sage, thats why the adoptive daughter revelation in ep8 was needed to make more sense....
However the sentence "He's just here looking for new business opportunities" makes no sense, Burke doesn't do business, he was there to get sponsors.
