Oh boy, I can't wait for 5/6 months of non-stop "Zoey bad" discussion, and I thought the one about Maya and the tuition was tiring to the point that I wanted to hang myself :KEK:
Agree. This dev puts out content so quickly it's almost unreal considering he works alone (if that's still the case). It's still his story. I'm not too excited myself but seems it's meant for content that's planned down the line, so this interlude makes sense to me. Better than just shoehorning Zoey into the story and acting like it's no biggie. People just gotta complain I guess.

You did make me think. When you get down to it Zoey does share some unhelpful traits with the MC. On the surface, it seems that they were opposites that attracted, but maybe they spent so much time together that they rubbed off on each other. It isn't explicitly stated that MC was her first or only lover, but it is clear that he was the only one that mattered. But stubbornness is a trait that seems to be tripping up the MC in his other relationships and might be her Achilles heel as well. I tend to like flawed characters more than perfect ones, and this VN is full of some deeply flawed characters. I just find it interesting that there is so much general anxiety and consternation about the addition of Zoey when the truth is that MC has much bigger fish to fry. I think that he is going to need a friend soon, and Zoey may be just what the doctor ordered. I worry for her because we already know that MC doesn't love her, or has said as much, and has decided either he wants to be in a committed relationship with somebody else or that commitment isn't for him. I think Zoey has some pain coming her way.
I still think the pain is up to the players discretion to deal out as MC said. "Was it love, I don't think so." Meaning at the time of conversation he doesn't know if it was or wasn't.
But as we see from interlude she seems not to love him either. Unless the home blindness of course meant she was taking MC for granted for being there for her all this time and now she realizes she does love him etc. And the home blindness is why it was so easy to see him as a friend she had sex with.

The her moving on with another boyfriend also probably pushed him to think nothing was there as well.

DPC has a habit of giving things away or hinting at them in advance.

Perhaps the reason for the angry saga at the end of the interlude could be the following.

Who are the LI's at the Burkes. Sage, Josy, and Maya. Sage talked to Josy at EP7's HOT party. But she didn't say she was fucking the MC too. Now if the MC was dating Sage and Josy/Maya, maybe there could be payback?

Guess we have a diffrent understanding wat ''forced upon you'' means, it didn't bother me but time will tell wat the consequences are.
Perhaps,
To be hopefully more understanding, i didn't mean forced upon by saying you'll always end up with Jade,
It was more referred to the whole relationship on both path towards the ending.
whatever you'll choose will also end up MC having that panick face.

If it's not because you went on Jade's path, it's because MC knows Jade hates him for rejecting her and the fact MC had quite a few conflict with Tybalt. not only that, finding out at the same time that she "adopted" sage especially when MC wen't on Sage's route may have a more complicated outcome in S3.

I feel that Panick ending is mainly connected to the whole Tybalt situation, wich you cannot avoid at all.
thats actually the only thing connected to jade unavoidable wether you F*ck her or not.

Sage can be avoided, however on her path might be double trouble on both choices considering Jade.

Its just that people don't care for Zoey this late into the game. Her interlude is a nice break to ease in the new launcher and updates. Bonus you can straight up skip the entire interlude if you have done it once and move on to episode 9 in the future.

People find that Zoey going off on a whim to "follow" her dream thinking that she is honoring her grandmother memory but ultimately finding out she fucked up and did the exact same thing her friends did stupid. From the choices DPC is trying to make her sympathetic and a foil to the MC and imo failing. Also what is it with the tatoos, so many tatoos? The drama from her return not withstanding, it is cheap and nobody wants cheap drama that makes no sense.

I noticed that too lol they asked me if i was a robot haha.
Ignore them they will get bored

Is " Zoya " everything you expected ? I mean Chip expected ? :KEK:
I think I make it clear here :ROFLMAO:
I was afraid I won't lie to you because I was afraid that DPC would make her a villain, for example that she was the cause of Cathy's photo that she worked with Vinny but no

Whenever I have a bad feeling the opposite happens and the truth is that I loved this interlude

DPC was very inspire in Life is Strange and that's why I liked it since it's one of my favorite games even in Max's notebook and her drawings

I loved Zoey since she is the copy of Chloe Prices and she is one of my favorite characters since I played Life is Stragne in 2013

I am very happy with the result I will play this interlude so many times until I get tired

And I feel like we're going to create Zoey's personality to be a Chick girl or a DIK girl.

I loved it and laughed when she moaned my name :ROFLMAO: :KEK:

Anyone else dissapointed with this update, for some reason i just did not care about the story of Zoey.
I'm with you on this one for sure, I guess a lot of people here felt the same. I'm more interested in the other characters that we have, also I think there are already so many characters in this game, not too sure if adding a new one at this point is a good idea. Anyway, we have to trust the developers, maybe this will be important for the next few updates.

i dont want to just echo what several others before me have already eloquently summed up about the Interlude, so i'll just say "meh".

some good things: production value was high as per usual, things are very good on a technical level. thats about it i guess

some less than good things: "minigame" was so simplistic and pointless it probably could have just been omitted.

i dont think the binary choices he allows us to make actually make sense in this type of game when we arent the MC. if he had an origin/story that he wanted us to know about Zoey and who she is as a character then DPC should have told us what she is like himself. in BaDIK he determines the other characters personalities and we as the players decide who we are into, but with this system he is trying to shortcut this due to the fact she is plot relevant again out of nowhere by putting her "personality" into the hands players themselves in a attempt force endearment or attraction. like imagine if all the other LIs have flashback episodes where we could choose what they were like ourselves? knowing this board, tons of people would make sure all the girls were canonically virgins like Jill lol. if this type of character building doesnt work with the other girls then it should stand that it doesnt work with Zoey either. to me it makes her seem less than the other girls because she feels less like an organic part of a larger story that DPC has already written and more like a fabrication he views as necessary at this point in time. to me it just makes her feel like she isnt really a part of the story like the other characters. this Interlude probably should have just been like an actual visual novel/slideshow for everything minus the sex scene where the player can choose what to see.

also i know that DPC has said that Life is Strange was a big inspiration for him. and that is a REALLY good game so thats not surprising. but this episode put too much in my face how blatant that inspiration can be. this is just a personal preference for me, if you havent played that game you likely wouldnt notice a thing. but while the notebook was well done it felt like an actual rip off of LiS, coupled with the fact that there is a blue haired girl named Zoey (not Chloe) that has a tough exterior that hides her emotions and tries to run from her problems and whatever was a little to on the nose for me. the music in the games were already a nice inspiration/reference to LiS, there didnt need to be more obvious stuff than that IMO.

and finally i dont actually believe DPC when is says this was "integral" to the BaDIK story. he literally just wanted to force our MC to make a final choice regarding our LIs and then have Zoey swoop in for some obligatory drama immediately afterwards. i'll say im not a fan of this tactic of storytelling, tbh. on that note, having another ending like the last episode where the final cliffhanger scene is basically identical no matter what your choices have been is lame. this just reinforces the appearance of the illusion of choice as opposed to legitimate branching paths we are supposed to think we have

anyways, now back to the long and tedious wait for the real stuff that is coming waaaaaay down the line. Good luck everyone :)

Well. That was boring.

Not so much because "Zoey bad" but more a "Zoey, don't really care". I am sure DPC is going to up the drama, but if it is through Zoey it just going to be annoying if it can't be skipped or otherwise avoided through branched paths.

Edit: IMO, If DPC wanted Zoey to be a bigger part and have a bigger impact on the story with this return, he should had Zoey part of the first 1-2 chapters before being whisked away for $reasons.

I liked the interlude a lot. Zoey is interesting in her own way. Also knowing what this interlude told us about her and the misunderstanding with MC finally gives me a reason to make a playthrough, where MC doesn't fuck around with every girl he meets at B&R. Looking forward to season 3.
