Potentially. Highly unlikely though for several reasons. First Japan have an actual industry for VNs, its huge in comparison, and ontop of that it was a consideration and decided in development before they even started making it. Plus the voice acting itself, it got producers and writers that work through problems, its an entirely new kind of production, its not just a script and a woman reading it.

Thats such a big fundamental difference between a game that have been out for years already, with set expectations and an audience that have their own distinct impressions of every character already. Its an incredible gamble at this point.

What are you even talking about? Sure things get adapted for a different medium all the time. Thats not even remotely the same thing.

Adding voices now would be akin to swapping the actors midway in every damn scene. It would be incredibly jarring and bad, alienate people left and right to their favorite characters.

BaDik wouldnt be adapted. It would effectively have an entire recast, midway in the movie.

Any new game could have voices. But not this one, not now.
umm, no? Its pretty much the same thing. Books series have been out for years and decades. With its own expectations and a audience that have their own distinct impressions of every character already. That doesn't stop it from getting adaptions. So what your saying is irrelevant. Voice acting BaD is fine, as long as the voice acting is good.

You need dont need a industry for visual novels to get voice actors. Moot point. BaD getting voice acting is not equivalent to recasting a movie midway. Not even close.

Is it only me, but I felt bad that rusty had to sell his car for the club.

Im kinda of conflicted since in one save in the sage route I wasn't able to save enough money to completly fix the diks house, While in my other routes I was able to do so.

apart from the 10$ for the vip pass, it doesn't count the money that MC spends on his vices, but only the money that you earn in the minigame.

if instead you skip the minigames you have to give up the vip pass, plus some other condition that now I do not remember ...

hey, how can i delete all my saves? (i just downloaded the Walkthrough Mod and i realize that i missed 4-5 scenes (i just finished episode 4) and i really want to start over from the beginning i want to see everything make the best choices (according to my desire) // this game is a slap in the face for me and even if i had to give up easily 10 hours to start over i don't mind :x

I tried to delete everything in the save folder but the persistent folder always comes back

If you are on a computer, hitting Delete while holding the mouse cursor over a save will delete it. If you want to get rid of all the awards you have earned/unlocked scenes, if there isn't an option in the game to reset it, you'll have to navigate to navigate to %AppData%\Renpy in Windows Explorer and find the BeingaDIK folder to delete the persistent file.

And most importantly, if you want to play from the beginning again and use these saves in the future, DONT USE ANY MODS, seriously... They will fuck up your saves and dont comeback and complain they are not working in the new version like so many others do when a new update comes out... DPC himself even implement things in the code for each update to make them crash when mods were used (yeah even a simple Walkthorugh mod cause problems, and DPC wants that... he doesnt like mods at all)... the mods nearly always fuck up the variables here, you will get into problems, yeah they are fixable most of the time, but its just not worth it to ruin the saves and have to start all over again with each route at some point cause of the bugs the mods caused. There are perfect PDF walkthroughs out there, absolutely no need for a mod.

and for the saves... to delete everything... yeah appdata-roaming-renpy is the right path, but dont forget do go in the "game" path of the installation aswell, there you will find a saves file too, delete them too.

Good voice acting would actually take this game, to the next level. Pretty much most of top tier visual novels(Japanese) are voice acted. Voice acting this game when its all done is a huge task, but i think it will be worth it. That being said, I doubt it actually gets done. DPC has seemed to lost a bit of interest in voice acting the game, based off his latest Q&A. Mainly, because the game is getting bigger and bigger.
I'm going to side with DPC on this one and veto any interest whatsoever in voice acting. A voice can entirely alter whether or not a character is remotely interesting. It's been years now, and I think most folks who play it have a certain 'mental voice' they hear for different characters by this time. Hearing Josy speak and sound like Fran Drescher would kill my boner faster than seeing Derek banging a granny. Likewise if Riona or Camila ended up with a southern drawl, or if Tommy sounded like Gilbert Gottfried.

It's just a bad idea, that would add a fuckton of game bloat (and developer expense), for no tangible improvement.
Yes! It would have to be done PERFECTLY for it to be plus, and everyone's version of perfect is going to be different. Yes, many of the Japanese games are voiced, but I don't speak Japanese, so can't say whether the acting is good or not.

The only game on this site that I've played that has decent voice acting is "Milky Touch," and even then it has some downsides. For me, the biggest downside would be that I would never get to hear the LIs say my MC's name. And the custom pet names go out the window, too. Both of these elements--though only heard in my head during gameplay now--add great eroticism for me. So even if DPC added voice acting back to BaDIK, I think I'd continue to play with it off.
but how many games have good voices? in the genre of BADIK almost none.

BADIK in particular would need a cast so varied that to have decent actors the expense would not be indifferent.

maybe it will be a thought that DPC will be able to do at the end of the game (so in 2050-never), to relaunch the game, but I doubt it.

at the moment it would cost him an effort (since he does not like to work with others) that would hardly be repaid.

If and when it gets here, I'll still turn it off, because I can read much faster than any actor can speak, and I'll be pissed because it took so much longer to download and ate up so much more hard-drive space.

This wouldn't be like going from silent movies to talkies. I don't play porn games for the acting. Ooh, doesn't Richard Burton sound great as me! Nah! Don't listen to voice acting in the games that have it; wouldn't listen to it in this one either.
With all this talk of voice acting, you do realize it would be suicide for BaDIK to attempt this until the game is actually complete. There is a good chance that some of the voice actors would retire (or maybe die) by the time we see Episode 16, which would take even longer with the voice acting included.
Considering that PinCake wants to work AlOnE, voice acting in this game would be kinda weird too. Plus there will be problem with MC name.
So the game initially had some voice acting. It was done by "Voice Like Candy". She's the one who does Jill in the opening warning scene, and she did the voice for Bella in the initial episode release as well. It was bad. It got ditched. (y)

Here's an example of Jill.
Here's an example of Bella.

DPC said he actually liked her voice acting and would use her if he intended to have the voice acting done once the game is complete.

Personally, he needs Jeannie and Henry to do the voice acting. I'd subscribe for that shit for sure! :giggle:

This week I wrote dialogue, planned more of what I needed to write, and coded almost every day.

I got into a good flow and managed to create a lot of content for the episode.

I wrote entire scenes and the shell of other scenes that I will continue working on.

Looking only at the amount of code written so far (scenes, free roam, branches, etc.) and comparing it to Episode 8, the longest episode in the game, I'm at 54% completion of dialogue if I was aiming to match episode 8 size.

We'll see where we end up in terms of size.

Next week will be a mix of posing animations and writing. I feel I want to continue writing before I work on static renders to be sure of how much I'm putting in the episode.

All PCs are rendering at full speed throughout all of this. 70 animations are completed so far.

You can look forward to a fresh preview next week.

Have a nice weekend

no one knows, but almost certainly from now on will be again only Mc the protagonist of the story

Zoey was an exception in the interlude to increase empathy with the character (in my opinion a correct move)
It's not working for me I still do not have any empathy for her. I just can't, not when she just up and left wouldn't even wait until the next year for the MC to go with her so for me that shows she didn't really care that much about the MC and she is selfish and only cares about herself.

And so far I don't really care about any of the other characters in the game either. I think the MC is better off with out her. I have so little empathy for her I can't even finish the interlude I'm just going to delete it.

I just hope I don't have to transfer saves from interlude to the next normal season of BADIK.

Well, thats just how many people are. Really bad to deal with real feelings. I like her, it needed just some time to open her Eyes.

I don't really understand why you would like her. It's not just how she acted before she left. For me it is how she acts after she is gone. She literally does not seem to care in the slightest.

Leaving the MC doesn't seem to have any affect on her she just goes on like nothing happened. I can see why they drifted apart because she didn't actually care.

We can see that the MC cared about her he hugged her before she left but she was awkward about the hug. To me she just isn't an empathetic character.

One can tell you didnt finish the interlude, because she explains why she broke of contact with the MC, and that's to protect him and make it easier for him to move on.

You'll need to finish the Interlude at least once, or grab someone else's save if you want to play episode 9. Just like you need to play episode 1 before you can play episode 2.

Alternatively just select "skip unread text" in the options and press the tab key between decisions. That'll probably take 5 minutes to play through the Interlude.

Well, thats just how many people are. Really bad to deal with real feelings. I like her, it needed just some time to open her Eyes.

It's her life, and she wanted to include the mc in it.

Even when she left after he chose not to go yet, she still planned to be with him later.

Chasing the waves was something she felt she needed to do after her gran died, as misguided as it was.

That doesn't make her a selfish person; at least it's no more selfish than everyone else who makes their own life decisions.

It was only because of the lousy advice that she received from her new friends that she started distancing herself from him, but eventually she understood her feelings and came back.

It's almost (but not quite) like saying the mc was selfish to go to college when Josy couldn't go. Should he have stayed with Josy and forgot about college? That'd be a ridiculous option.

To consider the other side of the coin, if the mc expected Zoey to stay by his side and not chase her dreams because he wanted her to be nearby, that would be selfish of the mc.

I hope playing too many of these games doesn't make players think that girls' lives should revolve around the player...

Well if you read my comments I already said that I didn't finish it and that I was deleting it. And protect him from what her dumping him? That just sounds so caring of her .

What happened with Josy isn't the same thing, with Josy he didn't think she would get into that college at all. With Zoey all she had to do was wait until the MC graduated.

And it would be selfish of the MC to ask her to stay and not chase her dream at all but the MC wasn't asking her to stay and not go at all he was just asking her to wait until he graduated which she wouldn't do.

Any relationship a person is in is about compromises, about give and take but Zoey didn't care enough about the MC to wait until the next year to go. I don't know what to tell you but to me she is selfish.

Definitely.

Most of all, she definitely isn't a smart person. She simply is an uncultured and unskilled young woman who will always make the wrong choice in her life.

Anyway, I think a lot of people here still haven't realized what the game's main message is.

Guys, the point in BaDIK is that choices have consequences, bad choices have bad consequences, very bad choices have very bad consequences.

You saw what happened to Mona. You saw what happened to Cathy. You can bet it won't end well for everybody.

You have to. Interlude is 3rd season's first chapter.
