Regarding Bella, it's her small waist that bothers me, not the curves. I like games with a variety of body shapes and sizes. I'm cool with Bellas as long as we have some Lilys to offset. Anyway, it sounds like Josy body is more your speed. She and Maya will likely breakup at some point (if you direct it with your choices), so I'm sure you can have a solo with her eventually.

I like Maya as well, maybe even more, undecided as of yet, both are great in their own way. Or Riona, especially Riona. For now I just squint my eyes when I interact with Jill or Isabella ;-) It's very difficult not to engage with them and to miss out on the otherwise excellent story and character arc.

I am all for variety as well, but I think it should remain in the realm of actual human physiology. And it's really weird in this game since almost all the women have realistic proportions with various sizes and shapes, small (Elena), big (Sage), inbetween, but they really went to town with the sliders on Bella which makes her a bit cartoony and to a certain degree with Jill as well.

I wonder what the reasoning behind that was in an otherwise brilliant VN.

The smile is the problem.

That and her very angular features, some hairstyles suit her better than others, but overall she just looks... weird (to me).

Overall an excellent VN but with some serious shortcomings as well....

I REALLY wish some of the most interesting LIs would look like actual women and not like blow up sex doll caricatures or something a 14 year old with raging hormones would draw in a sketchbook. Namely Isabella and Jill are very well written, they have great arcs, but every time I see them I just cannot help thinking how either ridiculous, Isabella, or weird and alien, Jill, they look and how interacting with them feels silly. Jill's face is especially offputting on top of her overall proportions, to me she looks at times like a female Michael Jackson. And Isabella's proportions are just Spinal Tap levels of ridiculous. at least her face is pretty.

Fortunately everyone else is fine, many characters look even great, but as far as main LIs are concerned two look not like actual human beings, two other (very sweet and natural looking) LIs, Maya and Josy, are locked behind a forced threesome (at least for now, let's see what the future will bring), and some of the really interesting and/or good and realistic looking characters are just "others" with limited content unfortunately or they aren't even LIs and have almost zero content (Elena). A Jill that looked more like Elena would be perfect, in my opinion. The Elena DAZ model looks more like a shy and somewhat insecure and innocent character and would have been a much better fit for Jill in my opinion.

The dev can absolutely create pretty and believable characters, why they made two of the major LIs so outlandish is maybe their particular sense of humor, can't say... It's not gamebreaking, the game is otherwise one of the best VNs ever, but it's very unfortunate because it feels so unnecessary.

well said. i know the Jill/Bella brigade hates to hear this criticism, but these two stick out the most by far. Bella's proportions get more ridiculous from scene to scene, and she would legitimately have back issues and likely balance problems. she honestly would likely be in pain just existing, thats how inhuman her proportions are from time to time.

And Jill doesnt even look like she could pass as a college student most of the time, she looks closer to Cathy/Bella/Jade in age than she does her peers like Sage, M&J, Zoey (lul) and all the girls of the HOTs. Like the only way i can believe that she is only a couple years older than MC is to literally not think about it at all, which is even harder to do when the game puts her innocence and naivete out in full force to remind you she is supposed to be essentially a kid.

All of the characters are pretty much caricatures embodying a "type".

Lots of things aren't meant to be taken entirely literal in the game, because in real life they would not be accepted/would be considered strange.

The clothing the characters wear around campus are often unlikely to meet acceptable standards in the real world. The girls proportions are exaggerated. The comedy hijinks are over the top.

All of this is done to enhance the experience.

There's a fine line between taking some of the narrative seriously while accepting other aspects are done for fan service.

As far as Bella goes, I've never been a big fan of hers, but it's more to do with the age gap between her and the mc. She's like 18+ years older than him, and he's considering a long term relationship with her (not saying it can't work, just not something I'm interested in playing out other than for completionist purposes). But her proportions are definitely ridiculous. For a real life comparison, check out Heycock's post here!

And yet Bella has a significant fan base here.

And while Bella doesn't do it for me, I don't mind Jill at all (sure I rant about her from time-to-time, but it's all in fun). Her proportions are just on the right side of ridiculous for me.

So for me (and this ties in with the previous discussions regarding the quality of graphics which got deleted due to mentioning other games), it almost doesn't matter to me what the girl looks like. As long as they have some redeeming qualities, I'm sold.

I would say you can apply this to virtually any (porn / lewd) VN. The parody nature of the VN is pretty obvious of course and is part of the charm.

I can understand why someone may find Elena somewhat plain looking, but I think she has the perfect look for a Jill that is insecure, shy and innocent/clueless and I do like her bodytype and face. But overall Josy/Maya/Riona are the best looking females in the game (for me).

To this day I don't even know who Madame Rose is, ok, I know OF her, but never ever have I chosen that route or seen her scenes. Literally zero interest, give me Nicole any time of day please, I wish there were more scenes with her!

The fourth poster the only thing that reminds me is the masks you wear in PayDay 2 lol but we already had a picture of someone wearing a Clown mask so there must be something

Jill's face is one thing but her body is quite fine to me, don't know what it is you dislike about it.

At the end of the day it's down to personal preference, if given the choice between big and thicc or small(er) and petite I would always go for the latter, but that's just me. And I feel someone like Jill should maybe not look as much like a bombshell. Of course Jill's character always works in her favor and it's virtually impossible not to like her.

Oh dude it's not exactly slaps. I mean a little bit sure, but slapping for fucking plot lines, not dialogue nor characters. That's something he does well, that's something that he does well. It's what makes the game worth. He's written engaging characters that you absolutely love. And unlike so many I love all 5 of the LI's, and a number of the side chicks too. The problem is that his plot is straight out of a fucking soap opera. But unlike a soap opera, he has managed to make engaging characters and good dialogue that make it worth going through the shitty soap opera plot. What I was telling you is that there are games that do just as good of dialogue and characters but with way better plots.

What you say is more or less true but I feel that all of what you say can be easily explained by Jill's insecurity, she's also not the most mature person when it comes to relationships since her experience with that is "zero". Of course any compassionate and understanding potential/wannabe gf would understand when you have prior commitments and want to take care of a sick friend who feels really bad. It's easy to postpone picnics or dates, there's always tomorrow, you can't cancel a cold/sickness though and to demand that you cancel your meeting with the sick friend so you can instead have a picnic now and not tomorrow or any other day is immature and selfish. That, to me, was easily the silliest plot point in Jill's arc. That alone could be reason enough for the MC to ditch her entirely, you don't want to date narcissists or extremely immature people who don't understand the concept of compassion and commitment to other people who need help.

However, overall Jill is a sweet character, but she has her serious flaws, she's far from perfect but she's ultimately likable. She needs to learn quite a few things about life, she needs to become more self-assured and understand that even though she may be the MC's girlfriend or potential girlfriend she cannot demand that he lets his friends down when they need help - just so she can spend some time with him. She wouldn't want a boyfriend who is like that, would she?

I feel this is part of Jill's arc. Ultimately I feel you judge too harshly here. Now, she's nowhere near my favorite character, there are probably half a dozen or so that I like a lot more (Maya, Josy, Riona, Sage, even Nicole) but Jill is not a bad person, just terrible immature and insecure about certain things, probably due to a very sheltered life with few experiences. The MC is the one who will help her mature into an adult, at least I hope so... when you are on the Jill path, that is. I am not really, I played her route to see what it's like and it can be sweet and touching (the recital etc), but I find the aforementioned Maya, Josy, Riona, Sage etc much more compelling and fun overall and they are my #1 choices. They also look better than Jill who still looks like some kind of alien to me

Although I'm not averse to a bit of Jill Character Assassination, and Jill Face Hate for that matter, I don't really think she dumped the mc simply because he didn't go on the picnic.

Even if not going on the picnic is the initial variable that ultimately destroys the relationship, I don't think she was like, "That took me an hour to prepare that picnic basket! Fuck you Fuckface, I will dump you soon, not now, not next episode, but soon!"

It was more of a case that after not going on the picnic, one thing lead to another and their relationship didn't evolve to a point that she wanted to commit.

I think it's actually acceptable.

And regarding the "understanding potential/wannabe gf"... Is that a new species?
