VN - Ren'Py - Being a DIK [v0.11.1] [DrPinkCake]

Badik is the cornerstone of AVN games, it set the standard so high that a lot of games can't replicate it nor can they come close to it.
The best part about this game is it's music, no otherAVN comes close to how good the songs are in badik, every season introduces bangers after bangers.
The characters are also lovely and well written, the love interests are amazing in their own right and deserve their own playthroughs to give them justice.
The only flaw would be the slow updates, but given how detailed the game is, it's a worthwhile sacrifice to just wait for the best and see what the dev delivers.

I must say after soo many good reviews and after opening the game the very first time (with fully voiced pre-intro) I was really hyped of the game. Some people even said this is better than other very popular games in the same genre (its not). But after completing it, i must say it sadly is just mediocre for me.

On a plus side the renders are decent, the characters well developed and unique and the story is somewhat interesting - nothing major, but a nice movie feeling. And that is the main thing for the whole game: it feels like a drama teenage collage movie. It has lots of relationships, lots of broken hearts and drama, some humor and a few sex scenes.

On the negative side: The game is not immersive: even without minigames you don't really feel like being in - or even part of - the game. You just view a movie where you can shape how the move unfolds.
Another big minus for me is that there is no harem route possible: Even with the Patch at some point you have to decide for at most one relationship to continue and possibly need to break all of the other hearts (with saddening breakup scenes).
The many sandbox moments doesn't add to the game either. For me it would have been better without sandbox events entirely. Since the game has many different branches (especially in season 3) you need to repeat the sandbox scenes lots of times to explore other branches and that gets annoying fast.
And for a sex game i must sadly admit, that this game doesn't deliver as well: Sure, there are quite a few Scenes over all in the game and the grafics in them are also quite alright, BUT: the scenes again doesn't feel immersive - they are just a bunch of different positions you can choose from. No transition from one to another, no natural flow of the interactions, just a list of different positions.

I was really hoping to add this to my top 3 after all those amazing reviews but sadly it doesn't fit in the top 10 (except for the lenght - this one is LONG!)
Overall I was enjoying this lenghy "move with decisions" but wasn't really into it and be happy to finally have finished it, so that I can now move on and enjoy the next game.

Damn anxiety I had throughout college cocking blocking so many great opportunities with dozens of beautiful and fun ladies, but at least now I can sort of relive those lost college years vicariously through this fantastic AVN. Thank you Dr. PC fill than void of missed life experiences likely for many of us.

Definetly the best AVN there is. There are so many memorable characters, that you can genuinely begin to like. The writing is superb in both humor and emotional moments. It also for sure has the best music in any AVN. Your choices matter and there are many different paths they can take you along and it all feels quite realistic (for an AVN).

My only critique is that only one of the five main LIs is really interesting to me, both in how likable they are and how, in my opinion, all of the others have really unrealistic and a bit weird body proportions.

However I don't really care anyway because Zoey is best girl.

Good story, likeable characters. Overall the #1 AVN, must play.

Insane how good it is. The amount of deep, well written characters is out of this world, haven't found a single AVN that could compete, my personal favourite.

Amazing story and characters. My only complaint is that too many of the girls have fairly unrealistic proportions - slightly put me off Sage who is otherwise wonderful. Honestly I'd play this with zero lewd scenes.

The renders are awesome, the story and dialogue are are flawless and breathtaking, the music fits perfectly, and the characters really feel very well developed. Tons of variety, great animations, and the choice system with all many branching paths its pure ecstasy . The mix of humor and drama just works perfectly.

Only thing I’m crossing my fingers for is that it doesn’t end like Acting Lesson. But knowing DPC, I’m sure he’s gonna hit us with something amazing again.

This has surpassed what I had expected. You won't find this kind of humor anywhere else, such a incredible story, impeccable visuals, a huge dynamic cast with so much content it feels like you hit gold. This may very well be the greatest AVN on this planet at the moment. I strongly recommend this if you haven't tried it.

Being a DIK is by FAR the BEST AVN available. No other title in the genre comes close in terms of storytelling, character depth, and production quality.

What makes it stand out is how it combines the emotional weight of with the interactivity and choices of a game.

The writing is simply outstanding, unlike many AVNs that rely only on adult content, Being a DIK delivers a narrative that keeps you hooked even without the NSFW scenes.

Visually, the renders are top-tier, animations feel polished, and the soundtrack is surprisingly good, perfectly setting the mood for each scene.

The choice system is another strong point. Decisions have real consequences, and replayability is massive you’ll want to experience every possible path. The balance between humor, drama, romance, and adult themes is executed flawlessly, making the game feel more like an emotional rollercoaster than just an AVN.

Gameplay is another huge highlight. The game doesn’t just stick to choices and dialogues it mixes in a variety of minigames that make it feel like a real game. There is the point-and-click exploration (free roam), decision-based branching (like any VN), quizzes such as math/english tests, phone games (Brawl, Tiles, Shuffle), and management aspects like fixing the frat house or planning parties. This variety keeps the experience fresh and adds real depth to each playthrough.

If you’re already an AVN player, this is the gold standard. Being a DIK raises the bar so high that it’s hard to imagine anything else topping it.

The creator of this game is a fucking genius. This is the best game I have ever played. The only downside is that it is hard to find games that can even begin to compare to this masterpiece. So I suggest you save this for last and play other AVNs that interest you first.

It's amazing who deep this game is! You may start playing it for the nude scenes, but you replay it again and again (people have multiple runs and saves) for the characters and the paths that you can choose!

I honestly kept passing this one for the longest time because I just felt like it would be lame. I think I played the first chapter eons ago and thought the whole 'fraternity' thing was boring and dumb, but after buckling down it surprised me with how deep some of the characters are. Not ALL of them, and I hate some of the choices you have to make, but it's still interesting enough.

My only real complaint is that the first 8-9 chapters were fine, but the mini-game shift in the newer chapters is just frustrating as fuck. I don't mind mini-games for the most part, it's a nice break in the monotony of reading nonstop, but the new math / party planning ones are so frustratingly complex and dumb.

And I get it, the creator obviously doesn't want this to JUST be a fapping game, and I think they've sufficiently fleshed it out into a full VN, but the math game in particular has just made me almost give up.

All in all the story itself is very interesting, enough that I skip through the lew bits to get to the next part of it, and while some of the girls have a very 'samey' look to them most are unique enough to be engaging and memorable. Some of my favorites are Sally, Riona and Isabella.

I will say, however, not a big fan of the Zoey return. I feel like the brief bit we got about her from the MC isn't enough to really give a shit about her when she comes back, and I kinda just hope she takes a hint and leaves the story, at least in my playthrough.

EDIT: Okay, I take what I said about Zoey back. >.> She grew on me pretty fast, and the whole 'rekindled love' angle with her and MC is now one of my favorite paths.

hats off to DrPinkCake. It really is a visual novel, with a great minigame, management. Story is the main reason i play this game, story so far so engaging. Can't wait for the next update until this game finished. Thank you for making this game

This game has very good scenes, an exciting story, and many branching paths. Each girl is a unique character with their own interests and issues. How the girls interact with you is dependent on a variety of choices and alignment. (DIK being preferred for obvious reasons) TLDR : Bottled Chaos with Lewd and Wholesome Moments

So, first time I played blindly, I chose the most intriguing character at the time, which was Isabella, with a DIK affinity but the game didn't really click for me, would rate it 4/5. After a year, more or less, I replayed the entire thing, from E1, settled to play a Chick affinity and going on Maya and Josy route, have to say: Amazing!

I know people usually advise to play things blindly, your own choices and such, but I digress, having a little idea of what you're doing makes the game works much more.

Anyway, for the review: Story: interesting enough, there's some intrigue here and there, unforeseen developments and such, would rate almost a 5/5.
Visuals: 5/5, the renders are good, animations are simple, but the girls all look authentic. Maybe the Mc has a strange face, but it doesn't really matter.
Gameplay: 5+/5The best for sure, there a nice amount of everything for a real game: point and click (free roam), choices (like any VN), some puzzles (math science tests, and on the phone) a little turn based combat (so far, totally optional), and management (fixing the frats house, setting up parties, etc).

Highly recommend.

The most popular and highly rated AVN - and rightfully so. There isn't any other game like this one and it really does deserve all the praise. The characters are all loveable, great cast of LIs, story is engaging, music is a banger, this is possibly one of the most replayable games I've ever played. I only wish for the epilogue and endings to be as densely packed and intriguing as the rest of the episodes

Clearly the best porn game.
A wide variety of body types/ethnicities, clear storylines, and well-developed secondary characters.
The graphics are perfect and well animated, the story is coherent and engaging.
The game can be replayed several times without ever feeling like you're experiencing the same thing over and over again.

I know I’m late to the party, but wow—this was absolutely incredible. I just finished it up to the latest update, and I can proudly say it’s easily in my top 3 in terms of pure satisfaction. I’ve seen this game around for years, but every time I thought about playing it, I stopped because I assumed it was an open-world game (especially since the VN tag wasn’t there back then). Last month, I finally gave it a real try—and honestly, the satisfaction has been unmatched. The multiple paths with different characters, each explored in such detail, was something I truly didn’t expect, and it blew me away. sad i have wait a year for the next update but i get why it takes long..

It was a nice game and especially concept, a story that keeps it balanced. I enjoyed it with mods like I prefer to keep in control but I bet its more fun without walkthroughs but I like it with mods that guide me.
