It's called Being a DIK but that doesn't mean we have to be happy about joining such an organization of idiots. We can enjoy the game beyond the fraternity theme.

Rusty may not be in charge when it comes down to the MC getting in or staying in. Unless they can conclusively prove who posted the shot using the laptop.

A lot of players seem to forget the whole DIK's code about family and Tommy making it quite clear during the competition that that Derek and MC will either both pass or both fail as the DIK's won't accept any more or less.

No, I do remember that, I just don't trust that he means a word of it. Rusty means it, Jacob means it, John Boy gives too few fucks to not mean it; Tommy is a rogue element. He may not as, I suspect, be a full-on antagonist but he's not on the MCs side imo.

That's completely irrelevant to the point I made nor does it address it. The DIk's accept members 2 each year, no more no less that's simply how they operate their code more or less. I don't even trust that, our MC is a guy who had no mother no friends growing up so his social skills are going to be underdeveloped, especially when it comes to two-faced bastards, something I believe Tommy to be. The kids who were shown to bully him at least had the common decency to be upfront about it, they didn't try to manipulate him.

Is it clear that I don't like him? As a kid, growing up on the spectrum at a time when people didn't know that was a thing, I had to deal with Tommy's; thankfully I had a couple of friends who protected me from them because it took me to adulthood to learn to spot those people.

Sleeping in the same building with Tommy may not sound best, but DIKs mean also Rusty and Jacob. Both of them come to me like cool guys.

Rusty told the MC how the diks were impressed with him kicking chad out … That alone would give him probally instant acces..

We did almost every hell week task possible... exept for that egg the preps thing...

We will get that jacket … we probally will go to were the hots are going to party or we will see some of the hots aka sage and or quinn the day after to discuss what happened..

But either way we will be in the dik frat if u guys like it or not

Yes, the game is called "Being a DIK", but it doesn't mean you have to be part of the fraternity for the majority of the game, especially when the MC doesn't seem to want it that much. Having him go on a journey in this story where he really learns the value of being part of the fraternity and actually wants it would make it so much more rewarding.

"Being a DIK" could also be a metaphorical title, where it's not so much about joining a fraternity frivolously, but understanding what it means to be part of a brotherhood and finding your place in it, thus giving that jacket much greater symbolism.

If we get it in ep 5, fine, I've got no problem with that, but not getting in wouldn't be the end of the world especially if it becomes something that's more meaningful as the game progresses.

DIKs having "an uneven pairing" is because Nick's magots brother left college and with it the fraternity.
The main weakness of not joining DIK in episode 5 would be that we would still go around on the same topic. Without proper story development.

It was uneven because his maggot brother flunked out of college. They were still accepted into the DIKs together as a pair as tradition dictates. Accepting only one to make him Nick's brother makes no sense as Nick is a 3rd year. Pairing him with a freshman breaks tradition and also doesn't solve the problem as the Freshman will be w/o a brother when Nick graduates.

Agreed. It's a new season, needs a new season arc, not the same arc again.

There's the third possibility that 'Being a Dik' actually means being a dick, something which most people regard as a bad thing, and that the real lesson being taught here is to form your own brother/sisterhood from the people who who genuinely care about, flaws and all. That fact that, for a certain kind of man, being called a chick would also be seen as pejorative; the best path is not one pre-selected by DPC and is instead the one that best aligns with the choices you would make if you were in the MCs place.

I agree and here's the thing, I like DPCs writing enough to trust that, even if he(?) does something with a character which I personally dislike, it will make more than enough sense for me to go with it. Hell, I've been with this game since Ep2 despite not a hint of a trans girl (and I don't want one in this story, our MC is too much of an innocent)

Hopefully he can give us choices and tell his story as we write it ourselves, thats why BADIK is light years ahead as most VNs go.

Anyway, 6 months was too long, way too long of a wait, althought I know its worth the wait. But I know its a longer update and there's a shift of .exe that need extra work for season 2, and hopefully with Steam versions being done DPC can take out 1 or 2 months for EP6... because damn, I seriously cant wait any longer.

As for the long wait of the game … the game originally had a wait time around 2 to 3 months …. caus of the 3 pathway situation and he had to do some stuff for steam as well made this update go into 5 months

for dpc to come back down in wait time he would need to either stop with the 3 paths or make a decrease in material we get each update and i dont see either happen

for most that been around since ep 1 the wait is pretty normall ... but have to agree this time it feels a bit too long
