Not everyone using an emulator on Android plays those games on their phone. I'd assume that most of them, like me, play those games on their tablet. Haven't played the game yet but I could guess something to answer this. While linear you could have elements in the game that are missable like hidden events or descriptions of evidence that you have to physically make your character see to add to the immersion probably not changing any events but still adding to the overall immersion. Which is probably not as cool to do in a renpy style game.

There are a lot of games with both features that are fairly popular. I think people here just don't like the game's art and premise, plus it's short. It's doing decently well on dlsite.
