Well downloaded from GoFiles website, right as i finished downloading got a notification that a virus has been detected. Thats pretty much it.
well, I'm sorry that happened to you and all your feelings about it are certainly valid but I've scanned the file I put out and the file that comes from GoFile with MBAM and windows defender and nothing came up for me.

and im basically a normie who makes a porn game as an art therapy project like there would be better ways to start a crypto mining bot net

ill set the record STRAIGHT on that shit

are viruses even a thing anymore in an age where TikTok and Instagram are installed on billions of microphone and camera equipped devices?
What is privacy?
Who are the patriots?

Look what arbitrary code execution did for Zelda64 speedrunning!

I'm having a mental breakdown but did you play the Diablo 4 beta? There's a section that's like "write your sin on this and heal your soul" and they didn't put a spot for "pussy blindness."

I'm not about disseminating malware into computers I'm about inseminating paragraphs with metaphors.

So, I've had a bit of time to start the story from the beginning again.

I agree with previous comment from Joe Steel that the standing picture is sometimes placed awkwardly, so that it hides at least partially what we're trying to see, but the Clear Standing Picture tool in the backpack works perfectly, so if I get too annoyed, I just turn it off at will, so that's good. I'd say it's a worthwhile addition in most cases.

At the start of the game, you should block access to the strip club area from the boardwalk (accessible from beach).

1) When The Roma gives Amber the task of sunbathing and styling her hair, you can enter the strip club (from beach > boardwalk roundabout) and then character freezes and forces you to quit [This has been reported before, I believe]

2) When Amber has finished her dance training with The Roma and receives permission to enter the club, if you don't go to the club right away but instead choose to delay this (let's say, in my case, to meet Julien and get better at gaming, which I've never done before, so figured I'd progress some) and you take the beach+boardwalk roundabout, the character freezes and forces you to quit, but instead of doing it in the strip club itself, it happens just outside, by the convenience store

I'll report more once I have time to play more.

Still very impressed by your storytelling, by your dialogues, i.e., those qualities that originally drew me to your game. Looking forward to progress some more

(P.S. Noticed some typos but didn't take screenshots. Mostly at the very beginning. Remind me to restart at some point in order to document them)

Well shoot, won't be taking screenshots; on a Mac, pressing the keys for a screenshot advances dialogue in this game...
Oh well...

oh noooo thats so fucking funny i never would have known that in a million years. I love catching old typos its like a full body shame orgasm.

ive already closed off the boardwalk. im shooting a new scene in the intro and then im probably going to push an update that just fixes the mine doors and the boardwalk doors.

ive got to go through every scene i shot before i added the standing pictures and move the standing picture somewhere else for that scene and then go forward without using that part of the screen for sprite motion, which will happen some other time. thank you for time and feedback!!!

this isnt a good thing probably but getting bug reports makes me feel like gary oldman in the fifth element when he breaks the glass and all the robots come out and hes like "oh look how much activity chaos generates" like its shameful to leave things that broken but its also a little power trip so thank you lol.

:) The Fifth Element was so long ago I don't remember anything about it.

One more «character gets frozen in place and you have to restart» thing

Very first day in the bar, Roger tells Amber to have a jog around the place: if Amber then immediately goes out (to see the bouncer, let's say), you're stuck. So probably close the exit temporarily, with a «I should have a look around first»-type of message?

Found a loop for you. When Maple calls the team over, after she found a way out of the ruins that leads to the top of a cliff right by Dita's cabin, the team comes over, but José isn't responding and you have to find him. If you then immediately click on the vines to go backup the cliff... the same scene plays again (doesn't break anything, except feeling of immersion...)

;)

I don't know if this has already been mentioned but I found a bug in the strip club - if you go to the guy upstairs and offer him a lap-dance he goes with you to the private booths and you get the lap-dance scene and then afterwards he's back sitting in his booth and if you click on him it triggers again except this time you get a black screen and the game freezes.

Bad bug to report

In the middle of Roma's task of blowing four guys. (Chose to go with fuck-buddy Cole first, then Liam who I thought Amber really hit it off), then remembered that this new info of Roma's health club should probably be included on Amber "evidence board" in her room, so went in... And stuck there: can't access the board, can't click on the door in order to get out, all Amber can do is run around her room (and climb up the walls)

EDIT: Used the Collision Toggle in Amber's backpack and it solved the issue (I had to turn it on)

just fixed that door lol, thank you for thinking about the board. Amber brings a second board into play in episode 4 as you'll see, and like lorewise that board gets put on the back burner. But I'm really happy you were thinking about the empty real estate on that white board because it's supposed to be almost like a fire emblem world map moment, like lifting the fog off the world map kind of deal, but no one had mentioned it before now so i didnt know if it was having the intended effect. also yes i am aware of the iasip crazy charlie meme

OK, I'm stuck

Got Roma's permission to go to VIP Services, dated Derek on a running/jogging date (with Megan joining at the end), got the video evidence regarding Soulak's brother, and then decided to have a look at those clocks around the water drain system. Entered the weird place with old doors, followed a running/streaking lady inside a small room where Amber had some sort of meltdown, woke up, continued exploring, arrived upon the old man that I can't go past ("Can't let him see me in this state, will have to use the buddy system"), and now I can't get out of there, up, down, been everywhere, can't find the exit, and all the while this spooky song ("She doesn't sleep", "there's no escape") is on repeat

What should I be doing, I'm really stumped

Guess I'll read the posts on this thread, in case I find the answer...

Oh yeah: I now have 16 Golden Ambrosia Bulbs in my possession...

thats my fault a ladder is supposed to appear after you inspect the homeless guy but it only happens if you check after collecting the bulbs. rather, a ladder will appear if you try to pass the homeless person now.

oh omg how did the "meltdown" make you feel? i need like, emotional feedback so bad lol. especially the episode 4 stuff.

The meltdown was weird but OK: a little unexpected, I guess.

Yes, there are bits of dialogue that hint at Amber feeling totally stressed out, but it's hard to gauge exactly how bad she is, as she is also extremely articulate, which makes her seem, hrmm, composed? So when she has her meltdown, to me, it was a little bit coming out from left-field. (Is that the correct way to say this? English is not my mother tongue, so please excuse my eventual mangling of colloquialisms.)
But the constant repeat of the song while I was frantically looking for a way out was getting to me, I will admit. :) [Same with the «end of current content » music that hasn't stopped playing in the 15 minutes I've spent writing and editing this post: getting creepy in 'errre...]

I actually got the ladder to finally appear, after a good 10minutes in there; no idea what I did to finally make it appear, it wasn't there the numerous other times I was down in that area.

I must admit I was a little lost towards the end. [The Episode 4 bit, I guess. Starts when there's this (future) bit of dialogue between Amber, Holly and Megan about miss Clementine, around there, if I remember correctly.]

Part of why I was lost is that I'm too tired (stayed up way too late in order to see this through), but also because too many events played out of order. For example, in my play-through, Amber went on her date with Malcolm before she actually met him at university: he was in the «phone people to walk up to in order to call them» thing that I was exploring when I wanted Amber to bring people to blow at the health club, so I called him and got this date referring a previous conversation that I actually got to much later. This time-disconnect added to the actual time-travel/disconnect of the story to confuse me further.

Also, while the late story was unfolding, I kept saying in the back of my mind: "Hmm, I must have made a wrong choice somewhere, 'cause I read that amber gives a BJ to Mr. Boss upstairs, and I never go to see that." (Also, when we get the «End of current content» message, you left a mention that the ring leads to a sex event, and I'm not sure if that's the same one. Unless it's Amber blowing Pat Surpass Sach, which I saw. But I ramble: really tired...)

I also never saw the rainbow region mentioned by you and Joe Steel earlier, so yeah, I missed some stuff...

Guess I'll have to replay, hey?

Also, think I figured out a way to take screenshots next play-though: all I need is bring another application to the front, like TextEdit, and take a screenshot while your game is still visible behind. I'll try that. But not tonight. I'm bushed.

I appreciate the time you've taken. If you take a screenshot of the next line of dialogue I can always just scan the previous message for typos too.

the ring led into the mines to the haunted house mental breakdown scene yeah.

The game is supposed to kind of play like you used cheat engine to give yourself 9999999 gold and 100 perversion stat, like every scene either moves the plot forward, reveals new character details, or puts space in the calandar (like some of the art scenes that are <1m) because that's how I play HRPGs I kind of mainline all the content I think might be original or appeal to me first and then I fill the rest of the game in if I like what I saw.

Many games will have a format where, for instance, there's a hot spring in town A and bar in town B and every 20 points of perversion you get a new scene at both, so if you set the right flags you can 100% without backtracking.

It's like a comment on grinding too like other games might have a reason your character needs to go skiing, and so you have to "Train" your skiing skill by repeating the same event repeatedly for a little popup that says "+3 skiing skill" before you can see the scene at the mountain. I would just write a montage where the character learns to ski like how Amber learns to dance from Roma, OR have her learn in the middle of another scene like what I have her do with the manual transmission in her new car during episode 4.

No shade, I'm also autistic I was just lucky enough to be attractive lol, most of the games on this site cater towards autistic virgins and so that's why the main goals are like "wash the dishes daily" because that's literally a power fantasy for the users on this website. We are ALL writing games about mental illness and executive dysfunction and porn addiction, I just made mine self aware.

So it's inteded to be able to do things out of order because the paths all intersect, for instance, the e4 Malcolm date is also 15th Julien scene because that's how Amber finds out Blue's mother got HIV from a blood transfusion in the 80s, and that's why it's available partially early, because you fulfilled the secondary condition.

Also this is a game about WHY people are in erotic situations and the pressures that forced the encounters. I'm going to have a really hard time making a recollection room work the way they do in other games. The scenes are always going to hit way different out of context. that's the other big reason why things in side paths will always be available out of main story order, so it's easy for people to just run through the whole thing when an update is just a side story, like the Julien one was.

It won't be confusing when the whole thing is available. Amber is constrained by time but the audience isn't. The mystery isn't.

Everyone here has been in an ingame wednesday and wanted to see a scene that takes place in an ingame Tuesday and had to click on a bed 6 days in a row to see that scene. That's a stupid system, it just is.

Most of this site is "grind for grotesque anatomical closeups of Daz penis" Be a good boy and wash the dishes so you're allowed to look at your penis! It's Daz penis incest AI art made by autistic virgins in eastern Europe instead of computers.

Those were the concepts kicking around in my head when I designed the "phone space" side quest system lol.

Yes, I totally get that ambition of yours, of not wanting to force a player to wait six days of game-time to fire up the next event, and this freedom from a set calendar/schedule. And I thank you for it!

Still: when Cole introduces Amber to the water-drain system, the «goal» is to go to school for the blue books and then rush to the docks because Amber has an interview with the investors.
But right away you can explore this drain system at will. You can even go and have Amber blow Roger, which refers to Roma's blowjob-in-the-spa task even if you haven't received said task yet. [BTW, giving Roger his blowjob at this point plays without sprites , and going back to Roger's place later, when it is actually time to give him his BJ, freezes the game...]

I'm not saying you should force the order of the events, I don't. But it would be easy to not let Amber get up to Roma/Marciano from the drain-system right away, and delay the possibility of going there until Boss has asked Amber to go back to Roma.

But in the end, the culprit is me, and only me: I like RPGM games because I like to explore every last clickable places, to see if there's a hidden thing here or there, so I tend to go totally off-rails and out-of-order by my own fault...

The end-result doesn't change: I really enjoy this little game of yours. Keep it up, at your own pace. You'll never feel pressure of the type «Hey man, when's your next update?» from me, cause there are all sorts of games I'm interested in, and anyway games aren't everything in life, right? ;)

P.S. I can't draw, I can't code, I can't really write fiction (especially not in English), therefore I can't help you at all on your game, except (hopefully) with these little comments here and there, and maybe with proofreading (which, in an other language, is my job, cause I have an eye for it – when I do replay this game in a typo-hunting mindset, I'll send those errors I find by PM, if that's OK with you)

yeah lol, now that im looking at that I did make it so amber cant go to the city with cole BUT if she has nectar already then she can because i made an oversight.

now its blocked the whole time through in all conditions.

i dont sweat the continuity in that way because i know people play these games from the save file. like i can see when someone posts a save file on gofile it has thousands of downloads. the on rails segments are obviously on rails though like youre right that was a full on mistake there.

its actually so hard to do things out of order in self playtesting, like ill think of 6 things to block and theres always one more i didnt. like ill check to make sure you cant put your shoes on until you put your socks on and then completely neglect to consider that someone put their socks and shoes on before they put their underwear on.

no one knows how to do anything until they start practicing it! and everyone should write something, especially if they're not going to see a therapist because you can apply literary analysis to your own stuff to figure out what's wrong with your brain.

oh bam ok so the npcs work like in Majora's Mask, like first playthrough you randomly intersect a bunch of side stories as you proceed through the main quest, seeing Day 2 and Day 3 scenes for side quests out of order. The main quest plays out and the side quests shake out. You can sit in one of the 5 map regions and really try to think about how things fit together in their closed system, or you can just beeline between major key items and objectives, but either way other characters were there. you dont have to understand the zora princess like literally at all, like literally more players have done the voyeur porn of her than tried to empathize with her.

It works in MM because Link is a silent protagonist who lets other characters talk about what they want to talk about, and it will work in BtF because Amber is a loud protagonist who makes every conversation about her.

And also we're all going to die lol, the same things ultimately end up happening to all of us. Like you were already born, so you ARE participating, and you will die, at which point you DID participate, and life is about how much and where you participated, and who you participated with.

One more improvable bit, if I may?

What is the point of all those lockers in the underground system?

Your can hear Amber dress or undress, but it's hard to know which action she actually does, since there's no dress or undress menu, and no change in the standing picture...

thats on the list, its gonna be a menu. like the bureau in the front in the curtain in the new episode 4 house will be the same menu. the lockers are basically just there for plausible deniability because I really like shows on the CW network where all the main characters can magically appear across town in a new outfit scene to scene to scene.

did you ever play Golden Sun? theres like, moments where the party splits up and you dont have access to certain kinds of magic, and in some of those places the devs added unsolvable puzzles that you needed the other characters for, so later when the party meets up the player understands how they managed to catch up with them, and ive always thought those moments were really cool, and that is truly the ultimate purpose of the lockers. Theyre like magic clark kent phone booth costume change plot devices. but they WILL also toggle outfits soon lol.

theyre there so when youre streaking around and then go upstairs and start a scene dressed automatically, it's like "oh i must have visited a locker off screen"
