To be fair this game's most interesting aspect is actually the war with Erik and how you defeat him, even in the original version there were more outcomes than just having Erik killed, like him remaining in the house just limited to Ann. I wouldn't find it a bad thing that we could just soft defeat him out of the house or that we could just put some rules.
After Erik left it kind of felt like another harem simulator and even the developer noticed it and started to build up Alice as a new "villain", making her bossy and sexually dominant, which is kind of nice too don't take me wrong, I wouldn't have a problem if the game followed that development of antagonists, but that's about it, what was more special of BB was having an antagonist, I don't care if it's Erik, Alice or even a ghost for that matter.
The whole opportunities system with the ability to have an antagonist to notice them or use them in their favor makes the game more interesting than the typical linear development. Of course that's only from a gameplay perspective, if you just wanna fuck the girls or hate failing then it can be frustrating I guess.
About if Aleksey is on the fast or slow side of developing I would say it's a bit on the slow side but not too much.
Just giving my personal thoughts, have a good day.
