BB was NTR driven from the very beginning. Yes, a lot of noise like the one you are generating now happened after first releases, and Dark Silver had been forced to add the route without Eric. That evolved into Glamour game, and you can see how pathetic that game is. Just admit it, without Eric, BB universe would have died before anybody would have noticed it.

If the game would have vanished without Eric we can't say, that can't be admitted. Marvel holds all the copyrights on the "What If ..." stories. No, I think there were two points that made BB successful. First of all the incest theme of course, you could only find that in aif text adventures at that time. And then it was one of the few visual games, that were not based on Hentai but had a western touch, that was kinda rare back then. And it was not just a VN, that also made a difference.

Most content in BB had nothing to do with Eric to begin with, so in different playthroughs it didn't really make a difference if he was in the house or not. He would just block progress on certain days. There was no route without Eric, all possible routes included him. The content that came later was separated from Eric, there was no option to have him in it. The war path was the only one with something in it, that could be called NTR (not just sharing or watching another guy) - and that was avoidable by beating Eric when it came to buying gifts for Alice. All the rest was not NTR at all.

The main problem with Eric was how fans saw him. The fan art often depicted him as being abusive (espescially when it comes to Lisa). I am glad that only made into the game in form of fan mods. (note: The BB remake has a Eric storyline, if you want more Eric content, that's what you should play).

BBs big problem in my opinion was that the plot for Anns storyline was complete shit, from the carpal tunnel syndrom to porn movies it was the same thing over and over and over again. It was all about getting from one porn movie scene to another. Ann was all too dumb to be halfway interesting, all her content was about controlling her which is only entertaining for so long. The girls need their own agenda in order to stay interesting, that worked for Alice, not so much for Lisa who was also reduced to that teen that needs sex lessons at night with Kira ... that was afwul, but not as bad as Ann's content.
And the game was designed too simple. Once unlocked, you could repeat a scene over and over again ... or not. It was always the same 4 or 5 images.
Alexey is doing a much better job in bringing variation to the game, all scenes are a lot more elaborated, offer several options to continue, you have a LOT more variation in spying / changing scenes and similar stuff, the environment feels a lot more alive than the original. And all that has nothing to do with Eric.

All that content was added after the noise in forums. Allow me to remind you Eric is the first thing appearing in the game. The game had been initially designed around him, full stop. Yes, later releases got new stories and all, but they were really weak - lesbo story with Kate or photo shooting with Kira are just lame and boring. There were few interesting ideas with Olivia and sisters corruption, but without real challenges (like Eric or something like that) they all looked straight forward kinetic novels with lot of grind.

Alexey is doing a much better job in bringing variation to the game, all scenes are a lot more elaborated, offer several options to continue, you have a LOT more variation in spying / changing scenes and similar stuff, the environment feels a lot more alive than the original. And all that has nothing to do with Eric.

I totally salute Alexey's efforts to enhance the game, and he's doing a good job. Of course you can exclude Eric from the environment, and maybe it will work. But my opinion is, if Alexey will get rid of Eric (in all routes), the game will loose its shine and glory.

LOL, did you even play BB? Eric was gotten rid of even earlier in that development than in BB_AS. Wow Eric lovers are truly delusional... Just wow. And I'm sorry to break it to you but he was not forced to get rid of Eric actually more like the opposite a small group of patrons tried to get him to bring back Eric on the BB side of Glamour but he did a poll and the rest is history. If he wanted to bring back the Eric character he'd have done it on the Kate side already..... Lol... Even his Kate patrons don't want Eric there. I think I can get away with this statement without much blowback...Eric is truly despised by some people that may surprise you. Peace

I've heard in many places that DS is an arrogant, self absorbed person. Complete rubbish. I took people's thinking about him and thought ill of him until I learnt differently recently. Just like Aleksey he is very down to earth and is always thinking about pleasing his patrons (to a fault I think at times). Will not talk too much of Glamour here but seeing as it was mentioned the last two updates were a train wreck on the BB path but he's promised his patrons to reign in the PIS in the next couple of updates. Waiting to see what he does.

So, I got a few questions since i'm too lazy to navigate through 191 pages of 100 messages each to get info.

First, are there any actual sex scenes with any of the family members? (I mean vaginal sex yes) I've tried playing the game, and I gotta say it's not as boring as I thought it was going to be, it was fine actually, but I just couldn't get any scene. Either the game is really difficult (btw the hints that they give you to the quests are not good at all) or i'm just a dumbass. (I mean I am a dumbass but, maybe even more than I thought)

Second, is there any gallery? Do you have to install a gallery mod? Does that even exist for the game?

And third, if there are sex scenes, are they repeatable? I've tried many things with the saves provided, (I even finished the game after that) but I just couldn't find any sex scenes. Not with Lisa, not with Alice, and much less with Ann.

Most people go on war path and get rid of him as soon as possible. On war path Eric is hardly present. Sure, he sits in that room twice a week and is a bit of a nuissance from time to time, but you can play most of the game without even noticing he's there (at least if you be nice to the girls and follow the daily routine, which I do anyway, not depending independent from Eric). This game is not built around Eric, the cameras are more important than him. So no, I don't think he brings shine and glory at all, for most people he's just ... there.
And at some point he isn't. Let's just agree to disagree here.

ps: About the original BB: I don't see why Eric fans see him as a challenge while the game without him was - like you mentioned - a grindy VN. But all Eric did was make you grind money and influence quicker. Doesn't that make it a even worse grindy VN with him in the game? Or was the challenge something else? What did I miss?

yes, most scenes (with different levels of sexual interaction) are repeatable and have different outcomes. Some HAVE to be repeated.

This is a very very good point. Never thought of it from that angle. It also very true because I got rid of Eric about halfway through my gameplay and got to enjoy finishing the rest of quests without that distraction. Which allowed me to pick up on details I was missing.

I'm confused by your post. The option to get rid of Eric has already been implemented. As such, why would you keep trying to stay ahead of him? If you're keeping him in your game I assume you want him to get the girls.

Maybe I'm missing something...not sure how it goes with him around since I got rid of Eric first chance I got. I'll take the simplified, least content version of the game every single time over having that God awful character in the game a second longer than I need to.

I made a patch to allow you to change the MC's name from Max to something else.

To use the patch, copy zz_patch.rpy into the \game folder and restart your game.

The authors have modified the code so my patch no longer works.
I'll leave it here in case someone else wants to take a stab at it.
For me personally, I'm over it. This is why we can't have nice things.
I blame public schools.

My two cents: Instead of crippling my silly patch, maybe the code monkeys could spend time fixing the problem. I'll hold my breath. {/sarcasm}
