Press Shift + G while in game, choose a different renderer and restart the game. It might take a couple of tries until you find the correct renderer. This fixed it for some users.

Original game was abandoned cause payment processor used to support developer did not like close relationship between two related pixels. Others got abandoned cause moders or developers could not get same support as original.
