i used bottles as an environment, and got it running but the one thing that made it unplayable was
the error message saying "failed building battlescript. using default battlescript" or something.
having the consequence of me not being able to look around with my mouse ingame.
But the first thing you can check if you use wine is if you installed the required dependencies.
in the readme of BLC it says: You must have .net Framework 4.6.2 or later
this post says to install nearly all dependencies that are available just in case
