Considering the state the game is in currently, there's nothing in it for me, but I wish you luck on your project. There's no shortage of work to be done, that's for sure. However, in just the couple of minutes I spent stomping about, I definitely had a number of "3D artists/mappers are not game designers" moments, least of which was that there doesn't seem to be a "sorry, never mind" or "that's all, thanks" dialogue option to end the interaction without having to select one of the other choices.

As an aside, can we get a tag for AI "voice acting"? Why does AI art have to be tagged, but not voice acting? More to the point, to me, it's really distracting and unnatural, and I can't even wrap my head around the fact that some people think it's even acceptable, let alone preferable to no dialogue. I have to assume that these people aren't native English speakers, because the only other explanation I can come up with is that their last spoken interaction with a human being goes back several years.

Maybe because it's not "AI voice acting" it's TTS (Text To Speech) been around since before AI

Even more reason not to use it then. I thought it was AI voice acting because I've seen a couple of games doing that, but TTS is an accessibility feature, not a development tool.

There a possibility the tts is only a temp decision (at least for main female characters) until the games narrative is finished so they aren't wasting money having to hire VAs constantly.

And what I'm saying is that there's no point even using it as a placeholder when, in my opinion, the game would be better off with no spoken dialogue than it is with TTS.

Yes, when go on "new game", you can even select how much % of npcs are male or female.
Unless something have changed that only applies to "normal difficulty" cuz on hard there are males even if you set up the % for only females and no males

guys,i saw this game when it first came out,it was female protagonist.
Now i'm also seeing male protagonist in game tags.Does that mean we can pick a male or female character to play with from the start of game?If we can do that how complete is male character's gameplay/quests etc?

you can play with male now, and features + quests all run fine with it,
just a few slight animation misalignments here and there, but nothing major.

Yeah it's placeholder,
and the voices in hardmode sound worse than the ones in medium mode.
Before adding an option to disable them, I'll try to replace the hardmode lines with less robotic ones.

In mediummode they aren't as bad for the most part, only one character sounds a bit robotic, and I even joke about it during gameplay itself.
I don't wanna just disable all of them right now, because zea's voice is actually pretty alright, and improves her quest arc very much.
