After years of hitching a ride on the pirated AVN whale like a suckerfish, I've finally set up a Patreon to patronise a project and a creator that is worth it.
I became a member through my iOS device and noticed that the tier prices were higher—at first I thought Himeros Studios had increased the price to help pay for all the mince pies (which I would be completely fine with)—but I looked into it and discovered it's Patreon compensating for the actual parasite, Apple, a $4 trillion company with enough money to buy God but couldn't possibly eat some costs for the sake of their users.
The joke's on me; I keep buying their shit.
Anyway—my question is do creators meaningfully get more from this mark-up?

I understand that the version in the OP is the Patreon "full" version. What I'm asking is what's the difference between that and the "free" version? Both are mentioned as S1 Ep1. What content is missing in the free version?

That's not intended, it may be an unintended side effect of a fix I did for Mac users not being able to save games last time. Will investigate and add to the hotfix!
All will be revealed in time
but there are a few initial glimpses behind the curtain this episode...So the way I intend to do it every month is the paid release is of course the full game. The free release will be everything up to and including the previous month's release, plus the first couple of scenes of the new release as a little taster. So next month, the paid release will be Prologue + Season 1 Episode 1 + Season 1 Episode 2 in its entirety, and the free release will be Prologue + all of Season 1 Episode 1 + the first couple of scenes of Season 1 Episode 2. But as noted above, the version I will upload to F95zone will always be the paid version, as if I don't, it will be uploaded on here anyway, and so I'd rather be the one doing it proactively and engaging with the great community.

Firstly, thank you so much, I'm honoured you chose to support me, it means a lot! On the iOS thing, it's stupid. I'm not sure if I see any of the markup, but you absolutely should not be charged more for the same subscription tier. Next month, cancel just before you are due to renew, and then sign up again on a laptop browser, and you'll not be charged the additional fee. The tiers I set are what I think is a fair price, I don't want anyone to be charged more just because Apple want a slice of the pie!

I figured that was the case and I've already cancelled the in-app subscription and I've also requested a refund from Apple, so don't be alarmed if Patreon notifies you of that, and I'll resubscribe once that's gone through. I know the difference is the price of a meal deal but when you're already a degenerate coomer you have to hang on to every vestige of principle you have left!

Not sure if this is a pun or not… but just in case it isn’t, incense is VERY different to incest! In fact there’s no incest in the game and won’t be (quite apart from anything else it breaks Patreon ToS). Black Incense is a quote from an early 20th century poem I like about the occult, that’s where the name is from.

So some thoughts from having played way to many games like this:
* Parents have white hair by the time the main character has her 18th birthday. There is no way they are more than 50, that they both have entirely gray hair and look more like they are 60+ is kind of mind blowing unless something is sucking the youth out of them.
* A lot of the time I'm asked to make choices that I don't have context for. Like I was asked to pick between second sight, animal magnetism, & I believe vitality... They aren't worded that way, but that was the context of what I was trading. While having no context to what those mean. Maybe break immersion a bit to have some context to the side when introducing new concepts?
* Also... I have to ask why we can't pick like hair color. Our sister seems to be a red head, I think both parents had brownish hair (I'm commenting when they have gray hair, so it's what I recall). It seems like we should have some option here... Even if as an added scene where we go to the hair dresser.
* As others have mentioned this needs way more lesbian-leaning options... It always assumed your attracted to men at the beginning and you just don't seem to get options to be attracted to other women for quite awhile. Most lesbian and bisexual girls realize quite earlier on that they are attracted to other women, even when they play the role of being straight for social reasons and expectations. I know lesbians in their 40's who got married and had kids, but never loved their husbands and it was all about obligations. They still knew they were always attracted to women, they just never acted on it.

I tried, the writing's good and all and interesting, but the rest just wasn't very appealing.
The music was droning. It's the same song just on repeat throughout most of the story. It just got boring after a while of listening to the same song over and over on loop for every single scene.
The AI images? Too many glitches, no post-processing done it seems. So many messed up hands and multiple extra fingers. Limbs not in the proper place and just odd glitches all around. Like, no love was put into them at all. Just generate and toss them in without checking if they looked right.
On that same topic of the images, there is nowhere near enough images to convey the scene you are setting. You'll be stuck on one image for a long period of time, while the text just goes on and on about all sorts of things happening, that are not even in the image. For example, if you chose to go to New York, it talks about all the things you are doing with your friend. All the places you are visiting, going out on the town, and the fun you are having, everything. Yet, it sits on the first picture of you two hugging when you first saw each other, the entire time.
These are meant to be visual novels. Keyword: Visual. I don't want to read a book while staring at one picture that has nothing to do with what the text is saying. You need to portray in the images what is going on. Thus, the whole point of a visual novel.
So yeah, wasn't a fan. It could be pretty good, but the glitched up AI images and lack of images in general made it boring for me. Either way, best of luck with this and thanks.
