Are these game famous and loved? I understand their charisma but BSI and II are a pain in the ass to play, even II with the walkthrough provided is troublesome (not difficult) enough to make you ragequit.

eh, the games are not that hard after you finally understand how play and exploit them i never really found any moment where i had the thought of rage quitting.
Now if these games are famous and loved, yes they are, before the steam release these games were already part of the top sellers of dlsite and the fanbase is very active, out of all "recent" porn games this one is probably the most popular one and with the steam release it can only get more popular.

The games are not hard, if a boss gives me trouble I can reload and try another strategy, they are a pain in the ass to complete (specially BSII) it feels like the dev wants people to play his game 40 times to uncover obscure secrets and finally unlock the good endings. I finished this game with all the endings and loved it but it feels I haven't played the game as intended because I had to go out of my way to save heroines before they died.

This game is really impossible to play without a walkthrough and thankfully there is though I'd like more detailed instructions.

its either you do the story and finish the game easily via story plot
or
fail the story plot and never heard about it and fight stronger enemy that require you to power level your character more.

its possible to beat the game without knowing a single story.

i really recommend to watch play through video on youtube and reload save often to try different outcome to understand how things work.

I'm not the type to play the same game multiple times for a 5% different content, if you want me to play your game again it must be great or at least offer 50% new content on the other route. BSI and II lack that, it's either you play a mediocre game by following logic and going from weaker to stronger opponents or completely destroy that logic with a walkthrough to avoid missing content, we are not talking about doing something obscure to unlock a secret/extra scene, more than half the characters can die and you won't even know.

No, not at all. It's dark souls but you get to fuck the important bosses.

2 prequels and a sequel are already planned, one with red hood and another with the demonic princesses and of course bs3, but the author is taking their sweet time with it, my guess about why its taking this long is simply because the author is drawing a lot more cgs this time around, not just h ones but probably also enemies

It simply got a steam release and is now uncensored. As for the story well it's good in my opinion but that's subjective isn't it. If it looks like something you'd enjoy I recommend giving it a spin for sure
