This game used to be censored prior to it's steam release, correct? I remember really enjoying BS1, but never really got into BS2, and I don't remember if the censorship is what threw me off or not.

Same as BS1. BS2 is censored the dick of Grimm. As is japanese law and DLsite follows it because they are a japanese company. The steam release doesnt have to follow this specific law so the dev released the uncensored CGs

it is immortal or someting I should take imprison
Hatter keeps reviving outside of prison, otherwise dies like everyone else.

Also drops different soul when defeated in Endless Tea Party or Dungeon (different souls drops also apply to Haigha and Dormouse). Reason is unknown, who solved this mystery?

I think that everything in the Wonderland tries to adapt to what Grimm sees, or something similar to that.
There is another example that confirms this. can't be used unless Grimm sees it.

Sorry to bother, but I'm trying to get ending G and I'm a bit confused on what the guide is implying. In the basement with the lever, there isn't a place to go right. I also didn't see a note saying Bill was insane. I've followed every step on the guide. After flicking the switch both of them are there. Am I supposed to just kill Bill after talking to him?

Guide is implying that you need to kill Blackwell.
At some point she leaves a note near the bonfire on the second floor and goes to the basement where she turns into a demon beast. Can you believe it? Sounds perfectly natural to me!

Oh, I see, thank you. Is killing her in the cathedral important for ending G? Or can I just skip it.

Hey guys, I heard they changed the soundtrack a while ago.
I haven’t played BS2 in quite some time so I was kinda out of the loop. From what I’ve heard, it’s not just a Steam thing, the game’s OST itself got updated.

I wanted to ask what you think: is it better to play the game with the new soundtrack, or is the old one still the way to go?
I’m asking because I got a friend into the Black Souls series. He’s almost done with BS1 and BS2 is next (he’s playing on Steam). Should I just tell him to go with the new soundtrack, or is it worth giving him the old one? I only know that the Cheshire Cat got a new OST, that’s it. I’m a bit worried that some other banger tracks got changed and don’t hit as hard anymore.

Oh, and just out of curiosity: last night I launched the Steam version to check it out and noticed immediately that you can’t “eat the corpse” anymore. Personally, that kinda sucks.
Is that some form of censorship, and can it be fixed with a patch I don’t know about? Or, like the soundtrack, is this not a Steam-only thing but an intended update to the game?

You can skip it.
Check ending conditions by reading "Hints.txt" in the game's folder.

Play with the new soundtracks, thus you won't be missing the old ones.

*shrugs*
I don't see why Toro hid that Grimm is not that different from a corpse eater, since Griffy is implying the same anyway. Looks like it was cut during the censorship wave, and perhaps will be returned later.

corpse eating is learned from bandersnatch. For the soundtrack, there is no harm is finding the old one to compare. Iirc like 10 or so tracks got replaced, including ones like pricket and mabel's boss musics.

Those "guides" allow to "finish" game somehow, but don't say much.

You can try Miraheze wiki for some info. Like, says how to reach End G in details (short answer without big spoilers - the player must interact with all 6 Memories in the game, have 10 unique meetings with Red Hood, have Leaf's Ring in their inventory and obtain any ending).

Page about Blackwell is also present, gives idea why you need her (short answer without big spoilers - allows to recruit one of 3 helpers in last fight of game)

If you point blank only download the steam version withouth the patch from the puplisher website. Then this will not be the only thing missing or censored
