This crap needs a sandbox tag. Too much free roaming and stat grinding. Why do incest "AVNs" always seem to be like this lately? I just wanna watch/read a story, makes some choices and fap to my sister with something new that I haven't wore my dick out on like Hailey's Story.

I dont want to sit through a game clicking left and reading. I hate novels. I am glad this kind kf games exist. But each to their own opinion of course

I don't think they know what they're talking about. Everyone these days seems to make the default version of these games have relationships like landlady and roommate and then just have a simple one-file-patch.rpy that makes it a wincest version distributed outside of Patreon.

But as for the blackmail stuff, I think that's unlikely to fly on Patreon too. I don't know what the rules are on SubscribeStar, though

I do see a lot of people complaining about no animations or poor animations. Having music and sound effects also goes a long way to raise production value.

It's a lot to handle, but overall I think you do want to balance a few things and make sure you're mostly equally good on all of them: plot, characterization, pacing, lewds, animation, limited grinding, sfx, music, frequent communication, twice annual updates, and a bug free experience. I think that's the expectation in 2024

Even without the blackmail lately the landlady trick doesn't work anymore either. I haven't read their latest TOS but I wouldn't be surprised if they added "anything obviously designed to circumvent this TOS is not allowed either". Patreon is a shitty site no longer worth bothering with, they even stalk creators all over the internet to enforce that and it's probably in the TOS that you agree to let them do that by using the site. Most devs lately have literally had to make 2 AVNs, a shitty one for Patreon and the one everyone actually wants everywhere else, usually Subscribestar. Friends Indeed and Friends In Need being the first example I can think of, the latter also having a decensor patch as an extra precaution that only works with Friends In Need. It's now just too many headaches to still be worth it, unless you actually enjoy doing it even for free in your spare time. Dumb hoops to jump through like that is why I quit giving anyone on there a dime back in 2018, I'm certainly not going to allow 8% of my money fund that shit.

As someone who specifically filters for "Male Protagonist" content, this one slipped by, previously unseen. As it is clearly a male MC, I suggest that tag. Surprised this hasn't come up before. For anyone about to suggest I exclude Female and Futa\Trans Protagonists instead, that's a non-starter, as some excellent male protag content also has those tags.

Exactly my gripe, When reading an AVN I just want to read (1-handed action most of the time, just a mouseclick in Renpy) and fap, when I want to game I just to go to Steam and play an actual game that generally needs a controller, so it's dumb to put porn in those that will just distract you.

You think this is a free-roam game? I just want to understand what people (and you for example) mean by sandbox.

I mostly agree with what you're saying. Patreon could add a new clause to their agreement at any time and ban the game because it "promotes something prohibited." And yes, I'd like to keep the game consistent and as realistic as possible regarding family relationships, within my abilities.

While my exclamation might be cliché, everything around us is quite strange - few platforms ban things like action movies where dead bodies pile up (I'm against such bans, by the way), and against this background, PORN sites that ban content for using the word "incest" seem out of place.
