i need lily pads for it by the river but i click all of them and cant pick any... i need to make elixir

Go to the bridge next to the female troll house, and there are some clothes that you need to interact with, after that find the guard in a tree stump and then you collect the lily pads.

Sadly VR makes me Violently sick in 5 flat. Every time I have ever tried. I just one of those people who can never enjoy that experience. Too bad...

You are wrong, I was sick at first too, but I started with short sessions, you need to improve your vestibular apparatus. Now I can play for hours and not feel discomfort. And you can always take pills for nausea before the session))
If that's the Old man Jenkins sidequest, you need the flower by the lake outside the cow brothel. You'll know if you picked it up because Alex gets knocked out by the local bear in the process. I think this quest only starts after you bring Alori food first time around from the tavern.
If it's Lady D's elixir you need to have the conversation in her room after she intrudes on you and one of the sisters after you collected and turn in the photographs.
You might have had the convo without noticing, if then check the bridge by the river next to the goblin for the clothes of her assistant.
thanks i figured it out running around aimlessly lol, was able to turn into the female and get to the school and then the to be continued sadly, also where is the librarian after you do her quests?

Tip for anyone who wants to know. You can just type %userprofile% and it will take you to the current user profile so don't have to replace anything. Great for saving an extra 2 seconds for lazy people like me
For example the following is all you would need, dont need to replace it with any profile name. Simple as copy, paste and enter.
C:\Users\%userprofile%\AppData\Local\OST_Game\Saved\SaveGames

After about the 10th or 15th go at it. It never got any better. So I have a feeling I am not wrong, but we're off topic now.
If it's the book quest, you can go to the cave near the night elf family by the river at the start. Or just slide the book under the door and she'll show up.
If it's for the "revenge" quest, head to the tauren's stables, where you let the sheep escape from.
