Yep, the numbers only went up, we don't have the precise number but it's higher than before. Ofc he's accepting refunds, when not releasing anything but teasing random shit every now and then will make the numbers go up anyway. This is very disrespectful but who cares $$His public paid members count has continued to increase. He currently earns about $2000 a month at a minimum.
Edit: Patreon is not frozen. I just checked. He is only offering refunds to those who bother reaching out to him.
When the bubble Burst All these Defender will disappear Just Like Crypto Project haha. Imo Many Delayed + Money Refund to Supporter who not happy + Focus on not demand work these are pattern that lead to abandonment/ Dev Burned Out.Yep, the numbers only went up. Bro is actually at an all time peak subs right now.
Scary how this works. Nothing happened, it's a bubble.
no one forced tori to do anything, he did this to himself with non-stop scope creep. All I'm saying is that all this discourse has forced Tori into a corner.
I don't anticipate a two-month delay or anything remotely similar, it's just not gonna happen in July, but I'm working on getting a clearer timeline soon so I can do the typical 'countdown' post. It's not all scenes that need work.
the scope of the remake has crept from "not all scenes need work" to "literally reworking every CG in the game"Torimiata said:Doing a remaster is no small task, I'm literally reworking every CG in the game. Sure, there’s a base, but it’s still a ton of work with complexities that aren’t always obvious. Thankfully, this is a one-off.
^^This, I feel like people's memories are getting shorter by the day...no one forced tori to do anything, he did this to himself with non-stop scope creep.

we didn't make him do that. in fact, we strongly recommended against it, repeatedly!
Yes, that's usually how work happens. You go in with a plan of how things should go. Then things you don't expect happen and you adjust. Just like what we all do at our jobs.no one forced tori to do anything, he did this to himself with non-stop scope creep.

But my question would be who is the timing really affecting? It's a free game. People are free to sub after release if they want. If you sub before it's strictly cause you want to support the dev or look at some teasers. Like just take a break and come back in a year and check the game out. What's the rush? The game could come out a year or two years from now and it's all the same to me cause I can play other games or do other things to pass the time. People are acting like crack addicts needing their next hit and this game is the only one that provides it for them. Like damn. Just flag the thread and come back in a year or two. No need to ride Tori every single week praying to see just a few more pixels on a screen and then repeat the cycle every month.^^This, I feel like people's memories are getting shorter by the day...
To me the timing here is the issue. It's not that a remastering or revamping is always bad (though usually it is), it's that it's occurring after a regular update was delayed.
Like a kid who tells his mom "I feel sick" - ok, reasonable, but just so happens he's saying this when school is about to start and not when he's about to go out with friends
you keep trying to make this the community's fault instead of the dev, which is insane. if i was going to miss a deadline at work, i would tell my boss before the deadline happened. tori has repeatedly set an estimate, let everyone in this thread get excited and F5 all day, then miss the estimate with no communication. then a few days later post a new teaser like nothing happened! when asked about it, this dev acts like making a patreon post takes hours! just tell people if you are going to miss the deadline!Yes, that's usually how work happens. You go in with a plan of how things should go. Then things you don't expect happen and you adjust. Just like what we all do at our jobs.
The point is that due to the delays there were so many complaints that he feels obligated to fix every small thing (that most wont even notice) before releasing. So I was saying if there weren't so many people up in arms about it he'd have probably released already and then fixed the small stuff like he usually does. Based on the teasers and previous messages in discord he already had everything done but now it looks like he's tweaking some of the overall narrative things and adding to some of the old stuff because he feels it needs to be perfect before release due to all the pressure.
Yeah and he came out and said he mishandled communication. What more do you want? It's a free porn game it's not that serious dude. Like how does it affect the people in this thread?you keep trying to make this the community's fault instead of the dev, which is insane. if i was going to miss a deadline at work, i would tell my boss before the deadline happened. tori has repeatedly set an estimate, let everyone in this thread get excited and F5 all day, then miss the estimate with no communication. then a few days later post a new teaser like nothing happened! when asked about it, this dev acts like making a patreon post takes hours! just tell people if you are going to miss the deadline!
THAT is why the thread has turned into a dumpster fire, not the other way around
this is literally what i was doing, and came back to the thread to see you blaming the community for the delays. why do you feel the need to white knight constantly? can't you take your own advice and buzz off?Just check back in periodically if you want. If you don't see the update move on and come back later.
So when he decides to do a remaster 20 days after the countdown post, on release date. Its starting again. I feel like for some reason people are under the impression that Tori has some secret powers to force people to sub to him. Like the people subbed to him currently are subbed to him for his teasers/text posts. Not the update.
Because if they were subbed for the update they would just sub when the update is out. No other reason to sub beforehand unless you wanted to see a teaser image or something. In which case thats on you that you're expecting more than whats currently available at the time of the sub. So I feel all this hate should be directed towards the subs not the dev.
All I'm saying is that all this discourse has forced Tori into a corner. Either there was so much complaints that he's not too motivated to release for a bunch of people OR there's so much complaints that now there is pressure to deliver something insane so he absolutely cannot release anything that he doesn't see as perfect. Hence the constant delays and edits. If he catches even one minuscule thing that someone could complain about he'd rather just spend the extra few days working on it until it's at a place he likes than release it as it was.
Honestly without all the hate I'm sure he would've released already and just edited as usual. But I think the extra wait caused (due to admittedly mismanaged communication) increased expectations to have it right the first time and since he's a perfectionist it caused delays.
Did he say in the countdown post or the recent update "EVERYBODY SUB NOW THE UPDATE IS COMING!!" Or did all of you guys do that on your own?So when he decides to do a remaster 20 days after the countdown post, on release date.
When he also said that the update was coming very soon, before we know it actually.
It's easy, people fall for that kind of posts, is it people fault for trusting someone ?
Is the recent sub peak because he also said that he would update the game past Sunday ? And I feel like it was not even close AGAIN. Because he had to travel ?
Can we also talk about the fact that there is no update anymore planned for a close future ?
Next time he'll fall off his chair or some shit like there are so many things wrong with this communication, choices and lack of respect. It's easy : anything he's saying you know it's not true.
For sure - the healthy and pragmatic thing would be to leave until there is real news. But surely there's some leeway in the meantime for a good ol public pillorying of the crooked merchant. But my question would be who is the timing really affecting? It's a free game.
