There are some guys that have literally 0 messages in other threads and all they have written in here is just non stop whining. This really is a testament to the good work the dev’s doing so far. Make all these grown-up boys cry all this much is no little task!

I always wonder why Tori delays. Is it that he underestimated how long the remaining work on the update would take or being "ready" then finding a whole bunch of things he wants to change or even saying a deadline so he has some date that he has to get it done by so the deadline makes him want to work?

I truly love this game and the way he writes characters is so much more engaging than other games in this genre or any lewd game honestly. This is the only game where I've considered learning how to make mods just so there is more content with these characters available. This is the only game where I'll pay for the patreon when a release comes out just because I want the project to do well, the only project where I've kept up with the community. I hope Tori is doing well

Tori is making the game he wants to make in his spare time. So far, has done an amazing job at creating such game.

We all told him not to bend to the community's wants and stay the course with his vision. Which is what he's doing.

I don't think he's too focused on the business side of things currently, as clearly Tori's communication with the community has been subpar.

Tori is just choosing to make the game at his pace with his own vision in mind, and if people will support him great, if not, okay. His thinking is probably that, as long as he continues making the game he wants to make; and it's very high quality, the business side of things will come along with that.

This is probably a lesson for Tori, in that going forwards, if providing your audience an expectation around an update; give yourself a month or two of buffer. In other words, underpromise and overdeliver.

But at the end of the day it's Tori's game and he can do whatever he wants / communicate things however he wants. The thing that's important is that, he has acknowledged that he has passed the expected timeline he previously gave and is offering full refunds.

I really think that the amount of trolling and vitriol seen in here shows how much people love the game. They take time out of their days to come here and complain and troll because that's how badly they want an update. I hope Tori can see that and look past those comments.

So, Mr. Spokesperson, when the update is coming?

In other words, underpromise and overdeliver.
tori is experimenting with an exciting and innovative new approach: underpromise and underdeliver.

"the update that was coming in july? well now it's coming in september... but wait! it's actually just the remaster coming out in september, not the actual update. and by 'september' i of course mean 'october.'"

Will not give up this game ever, but the remaster was so uneccesary. it lost it's uniqueness in the art that made me love the art to begin with, but it's still hot enough for a wank for me. it used to be hotter than that though.
Links?

Why is he remastering exactly?

It's a few pages back, but Tori explained it. To paraphrase from what I remember, the technology has improved significantly since he started making the game, and using the old method was taking some ridiculously long amount of time for just one scene. Whatever the new system is, it's apparently much faster and easier to use for him, but since there is a change in the art style, he wanted to go back and make the whole game have the same art style.

And now there are even better models released to the public than old stable diffusion XL, so he's redoing game for the third time.

since this thread is dead waiting for an update anyway, i'll throw out a wild prediction just to see if i'm right. i have no evidence for this, just a wild guess to pass the time:

i think the dev is going to introduce some type of password-protection DRM thing for the game. he's hinted at "looking into" this before and expressed frustration with leaks.

Hmmm I'll take a wager against this stake, reasonable guess but just doesn't feel like his style....then again this dev is the guy that got very resistant to changing his own overuse of hard pauses, so perhaps control-freak isnt unearned.

I'm sticking with my original wager - sometime several months ago, mid summer or earlier, he got bored and disenchanted with the production process. I bet this update (the actual gameplay one, not the re-imaged) gets pushed back to around christmas if not later, releases to some fanfare - yet ends up being his swan song followed by many months of inactivity.
