Tori is making the game he wants to make in his spare time. So far, has done an amazing job at creating such game.
We all told him not to bend to the community's wants and stay the course with his vision. Which is what he's doing.
I don't think he's too focused on the business side of things currently, as clearly Tori's communication with the community has been subpar.
Tori is just choosing to make the game at his pace with his own vision in mind, and if people will support him great, if not, okay. His thinking is probably that, as long as he continues making the game he wants to make; and it's very high quality, the business side of things will come along with that.
This is probably a lesson for Tori, in that going forwards, if providing your audience an expectation around an update; give yourself a month or two of buffer. In other words, underpromise and overdeliver.
But at the end of the day it's Tori's game and he can do whatever he wants / communicate things however he wants. The thing that's important is that, he has acknowledged that he has passed the expected timeline he previously gave and is offering full refunds.
I really think that the amount of trolling and vitriol seen in here shows how much people love the game. They take time out of their days to come here and complain and troll because that's how badly they want an update. I hope Tori can see that and look past those comments.
