Aye, this dev has been active on Discord even for non-plat members. I don't blame him for not being AS frequent a commenter on F95 though. It's either someone crying about not getting his/her freely pirated content yet, or a "white knight defender of love and peace" looking to silence any and all criticism of the project they love. All actual in-game content discussion has ceased.
Anyone that actually wants to keep up to date and avoid the vomit in this thread, just join the discord. I was respectfully critical of his communication and he responded respectfully back. He doesn't really shy away from criticism, but again I don't blame him for rarely coming here to address the spam.
I read through the history there just now - and yes he does pop in once in awhile (from what i can see in general) to post messages.... still.....I dunno, just have this sneaking suspicion....

I wanna know who in this thread corresponds to that one obnoxious guy on there, good lord he monopolizes the general channel.

Anyway it was good to get some additional context and backstory so thanks for mentioning the discord.

Sorry, platinum subscribers have had updates every week brother. Just in discord. Three weeks ago he showed us some background character things he's done to give scenes more life. Then like two weeks ago he showed us the upgraded sprites for Ayumi, Ari, and Terrace. Then last week he showed us a CG teaser of the reimagined changing room scene. He's been very active answering our questions and stuff as well. Just cause you don't see a patreon post doesn't mean he's not communicating.

I'll leak the blurred we got last week even though I know I shouldn't.

Damn with these leaked now I have high hope that we will get the remastered before GTA 6.

I wonder if Tori will put out every CG in the game before he releases the update :KEK:

So a genuine question for all those in the "ya'll are silly whiners, I believe in dev" camp from someone in the "mock dev" camp.

Will there's be a calender date which comes and goes with no release after which you'd change your views?

I.e. - best case scenario, this comes out later this week, people like me say "well that was some wait but this sure is fun now playing it!", but worst case, the delays keep coming, at what point do you lose your religion? A month from now? Or if nothing's released by year end? Or, is it irrelevant, and you don't see such criticism as ever appropriate?
What´s whining and whining worth of pages gonna do when the dev got the point already plastered all over his brain?

It may influence current patrons who read here to change their mind. Subsequently seeing his subs drop may effect change in his behavior.

Hey everyone,

"Maybe the real NTR was the delays we experienced along the way."

I know, I’ve been saying "it’s close" more times than I'd like to admit, and trust me, even I'm starting to cringe when I type it. But I meant it every time. What happens is, I keep revising scenes, adding CGs, and making sure everything fits together just right. As a solo developer, even small changes can push things back by 1-2 weeks, and those delays add up.

I totally understand if that’s frustrating, especially without concrete updates. So, based on your feedback, I’m introducing a progress tracker to help provide more visibility. Here’s where I am at:

Remaster Progress (The current focus):

  • New CGs: Around 750 new images/CGs are done, including key scenes and variations. For context, the original game had about 900 images, but that included animation frames, which the remaster doesn’t. In terms of key CGs, I’ve surpassed the original - but no, I’m not quite done yet.
  • Remaining CGs: There are 6 scenes left that need some work based on my last playthrough. These will likely result in around 30-50 more CGs (about 12 key CGs + variations). Some scenes are being completely reimagined, but I’m excited about how they’re shaping up. If you are on Discord, you know one reimagined scene is now my favorite in the whole game, so I think it’s worth the extra effort.
  • Character Sprites: 10/10 done. This includes a new side character I’ve wanted to introduce for a while. Found the perfect scene for them!
  • Script Work: 90-95% complete, needs polishing.
  • Menu UI & Resolution Support: 99% done. Just final checks to ensure everything looks good.
  • Gallery & Skip-to-Day Feature: 0%. This is lower priority and will be tackled toward the end since it’s relatively quick to implement.
  • Secret Element: 0%. Can’t say much without spoiling it, but it’s a fun addition that will add a little extra something to the game.

As many of you know, this game was one of the first to use AI in its development, and that tech has evolved rapidly since I started. With the introduction of the 2-path system later in the game, the narrative also became more complex.

Revisiting older scenes with these paths in mind has helped bring more consistency to the story. Without reworking the old content, the new tech and the 2-path system would have clashed visually and tonally.

I get that not everyone is on board with the idea of the remaster, and that’s fair. But I hope this breakdown gives you a better sense of the work involved.

I don’t expect the initial remaster release to be perfect. I’m sure there will be plenty of feedback, and I’m actually looking forward to that. Working 'in the dark' for so long is not ideal, and your insights will help - as they always do.

If you’re still here supporting me, I genuinely appreciate it. It’s been a long journey, but I’m confident these efforts will lead to a better game in the end.

As always, feel free to reach out with any questions or thoughts. I’ll keep you updated on significant progress.

So on the anniversary announcement, when he used the keyboard to type in 'Sunday', he didn't even close to releasing it. That's a bit bad...I really wonder why he would do such a thing...

i wouldn't call it quantitative, because the numbers don't mean anything. he claimed on a monday he was thinking it would be done on a sunday. now it's three weeks later and there are still 30-50 images to render and 5-10% of the script to write. he just keeps replaying the game and finding new things to tweak so the denominator is never fixed, it's just an endless spiral of adding new things to the TODO list.

I was trying to be kind

If I was actually honest it comes off as a joke, since there isn't a straight "X is what I need, Y is what's done". Instead it's this meandering waffle basically as you described - he seems to be leisuring plodding through scenes, looking for new ways to "innovate".

Hence my earlier response to the guy on what complaining accomplishes - if this is the style of his work, clearly (and sadly his patreon numbers show) he's not feeling the squeeze yet.

Guy became too much of a perfectionist, releasing an update he didn't like really broke the guy :KEK:

This is much worse than I thought, lol. I was one of Platinum supporters back before 9th of October (ask for refund and leave patreon and discord server as sign of protest agains his current policy), but I couldn't even think things were so bad.

1. He keep saying about new tech and increasing speed development, but now we lost all animation (he did mention it before, but it was for 0.6.0 and futher updates, but now we lost all animations at all), so we technically go back in tech aspect of the game.

2. There are already too much characters and we get a new one (I maybe be minority there, but I just hate Ari and all content surrounding her, she feels like a third (or technically a fourth) wheel in the game story for me by taking the focus off the MFH). More taking the focus off the MFH.

3. Secret Element
I want to joke about secret element being keep delaying release, but since I was platinum supporter I have a vague idea of what it could be and I hope I am wrong here, because it is related to Ari, which I hate.

4. Tori probably the most non-listening to supportive fans H-game developer from Patreon that I've ever had to deal with. Yes, he "sorta" listens and publishes development progress, but I'm talking about listening to fans regarding how to develop and release content. I was suggesting he release the remaster in phases, update by update, like many other developers facing the same problem as him.
And his obviously excessive perfectionism makes things worse, because what may seem perfect to him may not seem so to others.
I'm fully aware that it's his game and he's free to do whatever he wants with it, but I'm surprised that the number of subscribers keeps growing, even though I've seen dozens of examples of H-game developers losing at least half of all subscribers with this behavior. Apparently, most of the new subscribers are people who have only recently learned about the game and don't feel the frustration of having already taken a six-month hiatus.
To be fair he at least always ready to do refund for which I thank him.

I'm going to ignore the remaster as a matter of principle, unless the developer forces us to replay everything again, citing the fact that the old saves don't work anymore. Won't give Tori even single cent anymore, until he fixes his content planning and implementation problems. As I already mention it before on this forum few weeks ago - money is not the problem. Whole thing is developer's attitude towards fans and his policies that killed my love and interest in this project.
