No one knows. Only tori knows thats and now he is free to delay the release as he believes stopping the subscription means that now he has to answer no one regarding its release or news. He will drop it whenever he will feel like.
Trust me He not gonna Release Shit, Because he didn't have anything to release, He already choose Path to Abandon after Swim in cash till now haha. Even have Subscription he won't work beside talking, what will happen now without any Fund to support him?

the dev did post a diary but its locked behind a paywall one of the worst "benefits" locked behind a pay wall
the last patreon post was 3-4 weeks ago, before payments were paused. the dev came back from his trip 2 weeks ago and said on discord that he's working on the game again. no release date is specified or even hinted at, we have no idea where development stands. that's the latest update.

Has there ever been a game that disproves your theory? I certainly can't think of an example off the top of my head.

One where a game did a significant remake/rehash/whatever and came out unscathed and stronger for it later?
Ripples, that's the only one I can think of. My New Life is arguable, since it really needed a rework to fix all the bugs and ground the story... but then the rework still had a ton of bugs and pretty much the same story.

Oh, I started playing Ripples after the remake then.
What did it change? Now I'm curious.

WiaB and Summer's Gone have been remade and are arguably some of the best avns out there. I also really like the Where the Heart is remake

were these games remade mid-development? or after the fact?
wiab was more or less a pretty full game yeah... though I personally wouldnt hold that up as a success story with ocean's tortoise-like release speed. (bro needs some more a8000 gpus for faster progress  )

Revamped the graphics to match the quality of the latest updates, and lightly reworked and shifted the character progression. Krystal is lightly reworked, in the original, she gave the MC a BJ in the bathroom early on, and in the rework her progression is slowed a bit, and she just grinds against the MC in the bathroom. The author was worried about her appearing too slutty from the get go (something I find silly, but to each their own).

Actually a good rework at an appropriate time. Game hadn't got too far along, and it was contained to just episode 1, where the graphics weren't quite as good as the later scenes. I totally get this from a dev perspective. You release episode 1 of the project, it gets rolling, and your skills improve, but new players first experience of your game will be your now lower quality work. Reworking an early chapter to make it shine and hook in players is a sensible decision. Reworking a whole game on the other hand, particularly if there is already a ton of content... usually doomed.
