I'm here because of the interesting COOKING tag
You know, they say 'let the developer cook', so I feel this tag seems a bit self... serving.Blurring the Walls is a cooking VN.

that's called a cow, and ari's tits are too small to be called that... hmmm...female bull(or whatever they're called)
Sure, this seems a little undercooked, but it's just AI art. There aren't many expectations for it to meet, and it services the game for what it is. This is a visual novel and therefore I really don't care about the visuals, ironically. It's a medium meant primarily for storytelling. Other NTS VNs that use AI art have less polished graphics in comparison, sure, but they progress at a far better pace story-wise and update more frequently, while still maintaining compelling writing. I'd argue that quality writing is the most important aspect of NTS as a genre – something which I don't think this game handles very well either, but that's a whole different discussion. You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Both are important. What is a game dev without players? Nothing, just like players with no game. I don't know what point you tried to make but this isn't it, chief. Instead of addressing any of the points meliussy made with a valid argument you're resorting to a straw man argument, which doesn't help torimiata at all.the point of doing games is that it should be fun.
and developments is also learning. sometimes u restart, sometimes u get stuck, sometimes u just make a new game.
one of the most important things is motivation, that part is needed or the DEV will eventually drop it.
sure money talks, that can be a motivator. the DEV desire for cash will make him do whatever works. but not all DEV's can just keep going for the cash. they need more. a game that they enjoy doing. and hopefully others as well.
of course for the fapper it can be annoying. your cock has all the brain and don't care about any of that.
u complain when you get irritated because your dick tells u so.
so, who is important here, the annoyed fapper or the DEV and his journey?
because for me, another fapper, what can this annoyed fapper give me if the DEV decides to drop the game?
This seems completely wrong to me. A dev without players is much better off than players without a dev. Have you ever created something simply for the fun of it, with no intention of showing it to anyone else? I'm sure Tori likes the income from patreon and knowing a lot of people love the game. But this is a side gig for him. Even without us, he's still got the satisfaction of making something cool. We are not actually critical to this project. Both are important. Is there gonna be any scissoring between the FMC and their female bull(or whatever they're called)? That would be great to see.![]()
'Moo, bitch. I'm not the one getting milked tonight.' -Ari, probably, if she could read thatthat's called a cow, and ari's tits are too small to be called that... hmmm...
Appreciate the civil tone on the topic. I don't think there's anything I could say now that hasn't been said already that would convince those who are not yet convinced by the remake.Sure, this seems a little undercooked, but it's just AI art. I totally understand the desire to perfect your work, yes. But remaking a game which you were already in the process of creating is just absurd to me. Especially with how slow the process is. I'm not trying to besmirch the work of the dev or anything, just dropping my two cents into the ongoing argument. I'm simply not sure why a remake couldn't have just waited until after the completion of the game.
I know there's over 200 pages of vile internet drama in this thread which I can't be bothered to research, but I'll just take your words at face value here from a neutral standpoint. My assumption was that honing your craft during development would work better towards a more polished remake after completion, but if the current arrangement works best for you, then there's nothing to complain about. I can't argue over the preferences an author has to the creation of their work. You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

For me, the remake is just a better Visual Novel. It has better art, better writing, better story planning, better animations and it's just more fun to work on.
I could have kept patching and hacking my way through it but I think I would have gotten frustrated sooner or later. It wasn't an easy decision to make, and I certainly fucked up a few things along the way... but that's there and we are here now.
Writing quality is subjective, of course, but I put a ton of effort into character development rather than just racing to the "action scenes".
I didn't start this cuz I wanted to make some money. I didn't even knew people were making money off this shitI just wanted to do something fun to try the tech with a story concept I had. Different times.
Now I am taking it more seriously, within the free time I have available. We will get to the good stuff, and in a better shape compared to the OG.
And a player with no game can simply move on to other games, it's not the end of the world. As for creating something for the fun of it, yeah, I've done it before. But the moment you make your creation public for all to enjoy you enter a "relationship" with your players, and like in any relationship communication is vital and expected. And like with anything that involves two people or more, there are both positive and negative interactions. And, yes, we might not be critical to tori's project, but that's for tori to decide, not some random commenter. Trying to put down completely valid criticism like that, the way baka did, contributes nothing. This seems completely wrong to me. A dev without players is much better off than players without a dev. I also don't understand why you think this isn't a complete response to meliussy - who cares whether art or writing is more important to a VN like this if remaking the game is what Tori needs to continue finding development fun and satisfying? We're not going to get more story progress if he gives up.
