I think there's something newer, Dev Diary #5.this one?You must be registered to see the links
I like this personally but last I remember it petered out cuz dude kept remaking.I think he means, if you're looking for sex scenes, you'll just be disappointed. I like the teasing, though. It builds up tension.
I think there's something newer, Dev Diary #5.
Originally, the dev cared about the game and was making good progress; he released updates every 1-3 months, and they had a decent pace. Then he chose to make a remake to make "the best piece he is capable of".The cgs were all done btw
Brutal but honest and on point.Originally, the dev cared about the game and was making good progress; he released updates every 1-3 months, and they had a decent pace. Then he chose to make a remake to make "the best piece he is capable of".
The reality is that the new game IS better, but it's simply taking too long to put out.
I would rather play a fully complete 8/10 game in 2 years than a 10/10 game in 5 years.
He originally made promises that the new tools available to him would make releasing the game faster since it would be more optimal.
I'll be blunt: The animations in this game are great, the quality is high - IT'S TAKING TOO LONG.
I'm extremely patient, and I like slow burns more than 99% of the people on this platform.. Yet, the old game was already a slow burn, and this feels like 1.5-2x the text for less CG/intensity per update.
Before we got from the beginning to the end-ish point of the party in 7 months. Now this remake has been in development for about 14-15 months at least, and we aren't even back to the party...
Even if I assume the developer is doing his best, it's not that his best isn't enough; it's that he's completely overloaded the game.
At this point, I've cut off all financial support despite being one of the biggest supporters and outright despise the direction this game has taken.
The writing is good quality, but this is a fucking eroge; the plot isn't unique enough to be this long and drawn out. Euphoria has mountains of text between sex scenes at times, the whole mid-section is SO MUCH exposition, but there is an actual mystery and such to the plot. With this, there's character development, it's cool, but I don't care THAT much about them that I need a whole book per character before we've had ANY proper interaction between Ayumi and the bull (Terrance). Keep in mind it has been OVER 2 YEARS without any proper interaction between Terrance and Ayumi. I do think the new pool addition was great, it's more action than the last version, but for fuck sake it needs to stop taking so long.
Another issue, I checked the patch notes for the old versions, and he released an update with 36,000 words, that's big, right? But that update took roughly 3 months (mid-January to mid-April). The last big update was 40,000 words, buttook longer and didn't move the plot along further.
This developer started out saying he didn't like developers milking their audience or dragging things out, but writing unnecessary levels of exposition dump for a week-long vacation with friends and having no action throughout most of it is fucking bland.
I do have to question his integrity as he announced the remake on the update where Ayumi was meant to have SOME action with Terrance (from the CG preview, it looked like he fingered her and she was approaching him while he was nude in his room)... Then he announced a surprise remake a little bit after, and now it's been over a year with the most action we've gotten being "they made contact".
To make matters even worse, we're still not back to the party segment, which means this is all currently rewriting/addition to pre-existing content... That means it's easier to do, it's easier to work with a foundation than to have to build it from scratch and then some... So when we DO reach the party section and get caught up with his previous ideas, I look forward to waiting 6+ months per update. This isn't what this game shoulda have been, it should have been done or wrapping up by now, he coulda have done all this extra stuff afterwards as a new game concept
The dev is a manBrutal but honest and on point.
Just not "he" - "she" dev.
I don't think we should have full on back and forth conversations on a forum (probably TOS?) - But yeah, I'm sure. I don't know where you're getting that he's a woman from. I followed the project since about 5 days after it came out, and have seen none of thatAre you sure?
I'm on your side man, I think I heard it somewhere in the beginning. I'm also familiar with the project from the very start. It was my first nts game that started the kink so yeah, it has really warm place in my heart. Because this remake and long time period between upd. it went on shelf for me. Before I thought there is nothing better then this game in genre, it was like an idol. Still - product is top quality, but till this moment I don't fully understand the full reasoning behind the remake.I don't think we should have full on back and forth conversations on a forum (probably TOS?) - But yeah, I'm sure. His reasoning is basically "I wanna make it the best that I can". I said this above, so I'll keep this short and sweet:I'm on your side man, I think I heard it somewhere in the beginning. Дима, иди нахуй, хуйню споролNo More Tears
jajajajaajajaja
Well, all this brings nothing but sadness. I was upmostly fine with no CGs whatsoever, it was still amazing. sad sad sadHis reasoning is basically "I wanna make it the best that I can". I said this above, so I'll keep this short and sweet:
The issue became that remaking it at the expense of incredibly slow in-world progression has been a middle finger to anyone who played the original. It's obvious that the quality is higher. However, would you prefer an 8/10 date every 1-3 months, or a 10/10 date every 6+ months? The animations are great, but I personally would rather a CG only game and 5x as many scenes. I've mostly shelved the game aswell until it is finished or I just install, hold CTRL down and will only start properly reading again once it's caught up to where it left off. I couldn't care less about all these "New characters", the story was fine before as it was. These new characters are mostly just delaying material for the sex scenes.
I used to think Torimiata was different, but it's likely he's just introducing as much as possible before penetration between Ayumi and the bull so that he doesn't lose support. (Patreon support historically drops after the main event. For incest games, that's when the related pair start doing it, for NTS/NTR it's when the bull fucks the girl. People lose itnerest when the chase reaches that point - the sole issue here is that he seemed to have great ideas to counteract this, he also claimed he had plans for future games, so this shouldn't have been an issue.
Appreciate the detailed feedback. You clearly care, even though you've moved on, and I respect that.Originally, the dev cared about the game and was making good progress; he released updates every 1-3 months, and they had a decent pace. When will we get to see Terrace dick down Ayumi bro, you know everyone is waiting for that.Appreciate the detailed feedback. You clearly care, even though you've moved on, and I respect that.
Going to address the main points
I get the frustration about still being on Day 3, it's valid from a timeline pov. It's taking longer than I hoped to get back to the Party Arc.
But let me be blunt: if I wanted to milk this, there would be significantly better ways to do it. This is a solo side project and despite the support (which I'm grateful for), it can't even match half of a full-time job salary.
The remake already has more words, CGs, and animations than the OG ever did. Last update alone had 200+ CGs. That's not milking.
Days are just denser and more complex now... more depth, choices, character development.
The pool/hot-tub scene alone has more physical escalation than OG Day 4 ever had. This sets up a much more interesting rest of the holidays.
If that's not important to you, totally fair. But the work and dedication is there.
I'm making the game I'd want to play and I'll stick with that vision, even when some decisions turn out controversial. I do still hope players give it another go at a later time and enjoy the new content!
