Depends on where you bought it from. If it was stand alone most likely it's portable but, if you got it from platforms like steam then needs to be cracked since games have dependencies for steam to be running, analytics etc.

Are there any other games from the makers? I found another thing that looks quite interesting but unfortunately I find nothing here and otherwise only in Japanese language the title
you use the computer in your room... this is the very first thing the game teaches you, so you can start a new game(skip the intro) and see the details for yourself
click the gear to go into settings, click the arrow next to full screen and then click it again and it should right itself... or it does for me anyway.
This is a shot in the dark but if you are on windows, check your "display settings"/"scale and layout" (windows settings that is), if it is set above 125% try dropping to 100% and then run the game

My screen 1366x768 it's already set 100% can't see setting button or whatever is it
Another guess, if you right click the game.exe, select properties/compatibility there is an option "change high DPI settings" that might help you, specifically the "override high DPI scaling behavior" check box at the bottom of the window.
