We all know we are getting the game for free. At least, most of us do. And even Patreons do not technically buy a game but sponsor the Devs out of the kindness of their hearts. And in all honesty, without them, this whole business model will fail. They are paying for the party. So why lie to them?

If Zip would simply stick to the message "update is ready when it is ready" there will be not much drama. Him breaking promises with lame excuses is what is causing all the negative energy and is disrespectful towards his paying supporters.

So, Zip, if you are reading this: great game, but spend your time working on updates rather than on shallow promises and spineless excuses.

Another variation of the chicken-egg dilema. There is "no work without support" or "no support without work"?

Therefore, on such a patreon there should be any voluntary donations on the principle of 'God bless you'. Dividing sponsors into classes, promising extra content, not meeting the deadline and then writing that it's free anyway is not right.
Many work like this. Never asking for support, never making false promises, they release when its ready.
Like True Bond.

I have a question: after the acquisition of the portal by Patreon, will such games be removed from here?

Is it the best moment to prepare backups? :)

The memo is dated March 31st not April 1st.
Maybe a refresher on time zones is in order... you know how it can actually be the first in one TZ (like say where the F95 servers are) yet still be the day prior in another (like for example where the server for a fake website is located). It's a big world bub :)

When is the public version going to be released
Version 0.15.4889 is the most recent version. There are no new versions pending. Now you may say, "Gee-willickers, that doesn't make a bit of sense. Didn't the Dev say the update was 99% ready months ago?" To which the answer is that the Dev was lying. As he has lied for years.

If they were developing and releasing the game for free with no supposed pay walled benefits then nobody would really care. But that is not the case. He scams people out of their money, and that is the scummy part. Though if folks are still paying after this long then to an extent the blame is starting to fall on them.

What Bullshit is this...
The Dev has been dumb about declaring update progress, but he has always released each update here himself and free of charge. There have never been any Pay Walled benefits that I'm aware off. The two reasons beyond his ability to "eta" that people are pissed about are because
  1. They are upset their free thing is taking too long.
  2. Because they don't understand the difference between Sponsoring and Buying

Paradoxically, only those who pay should be angry because all information about the alleged progress was behind a paywall. The rest should not know anything and wait calmly :)

If all the subscription tiers were like the $1 tier where it is plainly stated that all you are doing is supporting him then you would be correct. But that is not the case. Anyone can go to the subscribestar and see the purported subscription benefits for the different tiers. This includes a $5 tier which gets the game right when it is updated (it does not get uploaded here til a week later), $10 tier with 7 day early access before the $5 patrons get their hands on it (2 weeks before posted here), and a $25 tier for some behind the scenes content. This all for a game that has been 99% ready for months, where the dev spent much of the beginning of this year teasing that the update is just around the corner. And he did the same damn thing last year, saying the update was going to be "next week" for months leading to the Christmas update releasing in May.

February of last year zip paused billing because he himself acknowledged such a delay was unacceptable. That was after 3-4 months of no update. This time it has been nearly 6 months of no update. But sure, keep shelling out your $10 a month, because it is sure to come out any day now! /s
