Hopefully, but at close to 55 grand a year and in Uruguay I don't think he gives a s#!t.

to be fair they are currently medically occupied and did say in their discord that there wont be updates for a while because of their medical condition that is limiting them to work on the game

Certainly, and I imagine most people would be very understanding towards something like that. Medical issues happen and can be very severe, and recovering from, or even just managing, such issues can require being prioritized over things like work. And the issue Bones has reportedly been dealing with, kidney stones, can indeed be extremely painful and represent a very valid obstacle to prevent him from working.
The reason people are critical of him and this supposed medical problem is (among other things) how long this issue has persisted. The initial report that Bones had kidney stones was from the beginning of May. That is four months ago. Kidney stones that can't/don't pass naturally within four weeks are either medically, ultrasonically or surgically treated and removed, especially since ignoring them can kill you.
So yeah. He did say that he has medical issues, but there are some fair reasons that people don't believe him... at least not that it's an issue anymore (nor that it has been for a couple of months).

As much as I get where you're coming from and am far from impressed myself, I honestly also think it is wrong to mock the fact that Bones has apparently actually produced something for once. While I agree wholeheartedly that his behavior and work ethic has been terrible, and while I don't buy into the idea that our criticism detracts from Bones ability or motivation to work, it should genuinely be treated as a good thing that we see signs that he is working... just a little.
Because even if you meant it sarcastically, you're right: this is progress. Very small progress, but progress nonetheless.
I'm all for criticizing Bones when he does something wrong (or nothing at all, which is also wrong), but treating it as laughable when he actually does something will only reinforce the impression his supporters have that we are a bunch of toxic people who just want to hate Bones and his game.

are you implying it's wrong to shit on WEG devs with nonexistent work ethic? because it might hurt their feefees and they may stop "working" altogether? they will get criticized either way, why not have fun while doing it?
you know, I've also seen a scene with martha in the bathroom where she turns into a ghoul for a split second. has anyone else seen that? or can they explain it?

Where in my post did I say that? I thought I made such an effort to make sure to express my own distaste for Bones' work ethic, and even specifically said that I'm in support for calling him out. I even just as specifically stated that I don't believe our criticism detracts from his motivation, which by extension would mean that I don't care about his "feefees".

I will most likely continue being critical of him, too, since I doubt that a teaser image is a sign of him changing his ways. It will likely be weeks or months until the next teaser, let alone the next update. I would be happy to be proven wrong, but I'm not expecting that to be the case.

Who would have guessed that trying to take a diplomatic stance on something would end up being so contentious? The one time I try to be nice, and even though most of what I wrote was still about my negative opinion of Bones, I have to repeatedly defend my statement. Fine, though, one more time.
Yes, I am aware that Bones is supposedly still working on 0.18C. No, I am not pleased with that fact. No, I don't think progress on 0.18C - a rework update - is progress on the game as a whole, strictly. But unless he announces that his plans change, he won't move on to something else until 0.18C is finished. Which means that while this is not progress to the game, it is progress towards a time he might start progressing that again.
Again I apparently have to include a very explicit note that I suspect, as most of you likely do, that he will keep reworking and that it will be a long time - if it ever happens - before he moves on to new stuff.
EDIT: I don't see why this or my previous several posts are facepalm-worthy, but apparently there I'm saying something extraordinarily stupid without realizing it while trying to be amicable. Seeing as people appear to object to this, I won't be responding to any more replies to this series of posts unless it actually raises a point worth discussing.

You have a point and that's what i'm saying all along. Reworking some old scenes is not story going forward, it's story standing in the same place. And if doc realy wanted to rework bunch of old scenes why not release one final gigantic update of reworked scenes and take it like 6 months, a year, what ever and after that go forward with the story and release an updates every month or 2? I wouldn't even mind if it took him to release an update every 3 - 4 months. And as much as i wish for doc to return to his old self that's not gonna hapen.

You just try to take an optimistic, or in your words diplomatic standpoint and thats totally okay with me. to be honest, i dont really care cause everybody can do as he pleases and if my reply seemed a little aggresiv to you then i'm sorry, like i said, not my intention.
The thing is, i cant be positiv, optimistic or diplomatic towards bones, not anymore.

With this new "updates" *cough* *cough* reworks *cough* *cough* coming through, can I just audibly sigh about it?
So with the sudden uptick in work ethic I'm assuming he'll stretch it out till the end of September, unless something happens like he gets Legionnaires disease and has to put it off so he can recover.
