Teacher's Pet. I forgot about that game. Fucking tragic. Slonique, or however you spell it, was known to do shady shit as well. But I think in their case it was more starting shit and abandoning it or whatever. I could be wrong, but in any event, very few devs that actually get popular go on to finish their game. Sucks. I liked this game.

Slonique is a joke you tell others. He's infamous but he's not a scammer. His shady stuff is in the comical realm of 'you think you're gonna get laid, but surprise! You're related/black dicks!' I still can't tell if he's a troll or not. You know what you get when you are a patreon of Slonique

Well, as I've had a friend who suffered with kidney stones and it seemed like an awful thing to go through.

True or not, I wish Dr. Bones the best in his recovery and I hope he can resume his efforts when relieved of his issue and is comfortable to do so.

To everyone who is bashing him, developing video games is a hard and arduous process, it can be difficult to self-motivate and remain focused as a creator. Try to understand that developer's are human too and are prone to mistakes but that does not inherently mean they are trying to take advantage of those that support them and sometimes just need time to deal with their lives outside of their work.

So many good games have not managed to reach their potential because of doubters and naysayers, it can send developers into a spiral of depression and lack of motivation to continue in the face of such scrutiny.

he's using the basic of basics in coding and cant even get mouse support done wich is like 1 line of code and he uses the worst and easiest engine....
so he needs time outside his work?? some people would ask..what work?? he is not working at all..his freetime is limitless
u cant compare him to a game developer...those guys are crazy workaholics...they have deadlines and if their game sucks they are out..him?? sloppy porn artist at best..and lets be real, not the best art..but no way he is a game developer..

Oh there's way worse than this. A lot of people freaking out over broken promises but at least Bones is somewhat still conveying that he's still alive and has some type of interaction with the community.

His subscribestar isn't going down enough for that to happen. They pay him no matter what he doesn't do.

I'm not sure why Bones tactics bother me the most, Hreinn is doing pretty much the exact same shit and have a better artist, but I guess it's the fact that Bones followers just don't react to what he's doing and still pay him without question for months without a product that gets on my nerves. The not releasing anything has went since February and he's went down like 250 dollars. They just like licking those nuts I guess.

I guess also the fact you can link to his discord from this thread and do a little research and see that he is bullshitting you fairly easy has something to do with it as well.

honorable mention to the developer of Never Saint, at the time he made updates on a monthly basis but the year of the pandemic simply decided not to update the game anymore and completely change the system and redo the art of the game (then he started with excuses like that in two or three occasions he contracted covid and was afraid for his parents, etx). From time to time an update comes out but it's not the same as before. I guess Patreon's permissive model encourages this kind of attitude

On the other hand, I want to recommend a dev and his/her game (one of the best for me), since not only he doesnt charge for its development, but he constantly makes updates and invites users to participate in his polls, I speak about MoriAPC and Absolute Power Corruption. Pretty fun game with great script and hoes oc

i've seen so many peoples above disbelieving oseo bones is sick whatsoever, he said that he had kidney stone or whatever it is only with some text and emotional word, without any solid proof like paper test of him diagnosed kidney stone, bill for surgery or hospital, or his well being
i cant believe that there are actually peoples who believed at oseo bones announcement of him being sick and decide to continue support him, what was bones excuse few months ago, is it he is dealing with real life problem and now he said he is sick

It's only temporary abandoned, Bones will update it soon enough, then give it a while, then it'll get the tag again.

Never Saint had to redo their game because it was a mess and there was no saving it. Though even with them restarting from scratch it still has a ton a bugs. I don't know why it takes so long to update a game when you already have all the art and all that's really left is the code. Then again I don't think it's going anywhere unless someone who actually knows coding does it.

I don't know why it takes so long to update a game when you already have all the art and all that's really left is the code.

Coding a game can be hard and demotivating, especially without any actual education on how to. It’s also very deceptive and demotivating because of how game development usually goes, there’s a saying not just for games development but software in general that like 70% or so of the entire project is gonna be done in maybe 30% of the time and the rest of the time spent is dealing with polishing, bugs, quality of life, all the stuff that for a video game is expected but not appreciated or even noticed sometimes by the audience, doubly so for an h-game. You have the stuff people are excited for and want but it’s what people don’t really think about unless it isn’t there that takes so much time, as a creator it’s incredibly frustrating and makes you want to just give up on the project entirely.

Best metaphor I’ve heard is it’s as thankless as being a bathroom janitor, “people only notice or care about your work when you fuck up. When you do it right, usually people don’t even notice”
