Has to be done in mid morning when you're able to play hide and seek with her, if you've asked her to play and it hasn't triggered, I recommend getting the dog to find her, which will give you the sniffing scene, thus ending the play session for the day.
Next morning try again, this time it should trigger a cutscene of her going to hide in the bushes. After David is finished counting, it should give you the option to give up trying to find her, then the event chain for the dog should start. After each stage, I chose to speak to her and she gave me slightly different dialogue each time. Repeat this 4 times until you get the final scene.
