Seems like many people aren't in Dr bones discord server... This first updste he dropped is bugged, cuz it was released without bug testing, he just ended bug fixing stream 10 min ago, and uploaded fixed build. So now wait until someone uploads fixed build, or support the dev, dude definitely deserves it, hand drawn games in our time is rare thing, considering how much time and effort it takes to draw, and then paint.

My god this thread is toxic. No wonder Bones doesn't show up here anymore. People, if you pirate an early release of an update from a solo dev, expect bugs. I don't even expect that you can't critique the game, but have some common sense. If you think that's unreasonable, then you are being unreasonable.

At this point, I'm voting in favour of permanently locking the comments in this thread. Or make a separate salt thread, anything to make this one less... horrid.

Yeah if he wouldnt blatantly lie to ppl and milk for months for no content for non existing excuses over and over maybe ppl would support him more , he has burned all the bridges he ever had to ppl by doing his shenanigans over and over. But hey if you want drop your money in endless pit go for it. And not denying the art / effort it takes but time vs what comes out just doesnt match up.

I'm not even in the Discord server and this should have been obvious... Seriously, I think it's doing a major disservice to both the dev and pirates when bug test releases are shared. The experience is worse, people don't know what they are getting into and the dev takes the blame for what was intended to be a release for testing purposes. Though I recommend every dev makes a massive splash screen for such releases, makes it very clear what to expect.

Nah i mean, support for the build with one month sub atleast, i know that his updates take forever, but if u saw atleat one of his streams u probably know how much time each picture takes to draw. I don't say everyone staying subscribed all the time with no content as u say.

I have the assumption that he is more skilled at drawing than coding and is learning it as he goes. This is why we always have bugs followed by near instant hot fixes; "oh crap, I forgot to close this 'for' and 'while' loop" or "oh I made a typo on this line", is how I picture him reacting and addressing feedback after every iteration he releases.

My advice to him would be to stop putting this behind a paywall and make it free or $2 so you can engage more with others to improve your coding skill or bring in a dev. The art is good, but the experience is lacking. I'd be open to the polished art coming later after the code is cleaned up. Almost every other creator does this. Summertime Saga is one example.

When I see how far the Urban Demons remake is coming along, and the fact that the original released (2017-ish?) and yet The Manor released nearly close to that year (correct me if I am wrong) and is basically lapping him I get perplexed when I see things like this:

Urban Demons:

The Manor:
1751320311720.png

Those ratios make no sense to me for what we get from the two creators in contrast.

Then I see the difference in their approach to goals:

Urban Demons:

The Manor:

It gives me a clear opinion that the guy can bring in at least one skilled dev to clean things up for him and other creators are taking things more seriously.

The games potential is great, but there is also potential in improving the effort in between version releases.
