At one point Dr. Bones was making 2000$ in patreon when he had The Manor there. When patreon fucked his game and he switched to a shit female MC game, it literally dropped hundreds and it keeps dropping. His SubcscribeStar, in fact, is making 1800$ at the moment.

Dandy Boy is currently making 2000$

Is it as much as DC? No. But no game will make as much as DC, and it isn't because of quality, but things like longevity and advertisement.

Think about it like USA 2016 election. Whether you wanted Trump to be a president or not, he mostly won because of memes. Summertime saga is in that exact same position.

I was going to completely agree with Lawsuit Incoming about people enabling Dr. Bones, until I saw this chart. I still think people like Aurelio Maximo are too blind with the white-knighting to see that Dr. Bones is not some godly dev who won't ever think of sitting around while patrons and subscribers pay him monthly for not even a hint of an update. We see that clearly; he takes 3-8 months regularly to put out content that is barely progressing the game, nor justifies the wait.

However I do see that there are people like Lawsuit Incoming who are too angry due to the horni who also contribute to polarizing the situation: "either you are a simp for Dr. Bones or you hate him and all his patrons" essentially. This chart showing Dr. Bones' income over time (after the patreon to subscribe-star switch) justifies that people overall aren't continuing to enable him. As more time passes, he gets less income. I assume some big donors have dropped out, since the number of patrons kind of betrays this (a spike-increase of patrons -probably paying very small amounts- in 2021).

I know I contributed my fair share of complaints, but I also know that there are other games to play and not just this one. Or I can also go outside and not be a degenerate 24/7 patrolling the thread to defend anyone's name.

At this point can't we all stop arguing to each other and turn this thread in a warzone please? We don't truly know the circumstance of Bones and his real life work and problem he had to face everyday, he at least did confirmed that he used most of his free time to develop the game and as fast as he could. I'm a pervert too and want him to release the next update as soon as possible like many, but in the end we had to wait and no matter how much we complains and scream at him it would not coming out anytime soon.
Just be patience and wait, or downloading other games on the site to kill time

Isn't this game missing the 'sandbox' tag?

What is the genre given to games that we have total control over our actions? For example, walking around the map and activating events interacting with NPCs. I am a big fan of this type of game and I always thought it was a 'sandbox'. Maybe I'm wrong and that's why I can't find games like this.

I really appreciate this post. But just to clarify something you said (and that I've read from at least another user here).
I do not (I repeat: I DO NOT) have a day-job. Since a few years now. THIS is my solely source of income.
I don't want people claiming at some point that I'm lying about jobs I don't have or how I use or waste my time.

However I do have adult responsibilities (as we all adults have) and a whole lot of things that may or may not (depending of different factors) consume some of my time. I do have a family. I do have irl love ones. I do have other things besides porn games.And most of all, I do have people I need to be there for... specially now.

I don't have any intention of talking about my personal life nor of the things I do or do not while I'm not working on the games. I like having my privacy and that will never change. Don't get me wrong and please don't take it as if I'm being an asshole, but no-one is entitled to know about me what I don't need to tell.

I really appreciate that my work is enjoyable enough for people to want more if it. And I do plan to keep on working, that has not change at all. That said, players can wait and play when I get updates out, or not... that bit has nothing to do with me, I have no control over other people's patience (Or clear porn addiction symptoms).

And about the money I make with this... I said it before and I say it again. I don't give a fuck about money that much. Even before making porn games I have times of having nothing to eat and also times where I had more money than right now.
If I really wanted that much money I would be more aggressive with my "marketing"... which I don't even have. I don't do cross-promotions to expand, I don't beg for pledges, I don't give extra special perks to patreon/subcribers besides those updates some days earlier than public, etc. No one is obligated to donate to play my games... everything is ultimately free and the content is the same for everyone.

And trust me when I say that I know I'm not the most prolific dev out there... I know I suck at timeframes... I know I could be better and a lot of things... but the thing is... I won't become the best developer in the world just by getting "reprimanded" by some of you ... Imma grown man for god's sake.
Also, I think I prefer getting better at art... at coding... at improved my engrish... at learning new skills for future projects and things that ultimately helps me to make better games.

I started doing this because I was tired of people telling me what to do... funny enough... It seems I still have that. But don't worry guys, I'm still enjoying the heck out of this. (most of the time)



Ok, that's it... sorry for that. I will repeat my promise of finishing the manor as I intend for it to end... and I repeat my intention of keep doing this stuff as long as I'm able and willing. Besides that... nothing more. Either you accompany me in the journey or you don't, no hard feelings. But please, don't treat me as if I were a effing company that should cater to your every whim and desire... I'm just a guy who likes to draw boobs and asses... nothing more.

First off I love your "engrish", it's far better then my English. I have been with you form almost when you started and even if your updates take forever it's worth the wait. As i have said before leave the Dev's alone so they can do their own thing and you'll get something great in return. (assuming they pay attention to chat and fix bugs / issues that are pointed out.) Still got your back, keep up the great work and you do you. Hope everything in IRL is going well, seeing as the times we live in are a tad nuts right now.

Christ, first time I've checked this thread in months out of curiosity and coming from the Taffy Tales thread a couple weeks back to this is so disheartening. I mean the TT thread was having basically the exact same discussion EXCEPT their dev had been farther behind at the time than Dr. is now, by a pretty wide fuckin margin. I already give up the intention of arguing with anyone else. I will just say that I love Dr. Bones' jobs and will wait for whatever it takes.

PD: I just hope Dr. Bones is getting enough calcium ... considering it's all bones.
