Is the Steam version actually lacking an ending or is it just not mentioned in the store page (secret ending and all that)?

It seems that you can simply use Maldives instead of JoiPlay and it works great

Tried both before ultimately choosing non-steam, since even translation on steam version is actually worse somehow. And adding a risk of missing out on an ending? Yeah, no, fk that.
What is the difference between "standard mode" and "free mode"? also what do the difficulty options even do? Just beefier enemy stats?
