Status Update - End of December

Hallo everyone,
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and are enjoying the holidays with some well-earned rest. As always, thank you for sticking with the project and for being such a supportive community.

With the month coming to an end, it’s clear I won’t be able to release the updates for Breeding Farm or Amity Park in time. I had hoped to make it work, but December ended up being a bit tougher to manage than expected—especially balancing things between my day job and both projects.

That said, progress is moving forward. I’m still polishing older scenes in Amity Park to better match the overall style, and work on Breeding Farm is continuing steadily as well. Even though the updates need a little more time, I want to make sure they’re in a good state before they go out.

As a small thank-you and to keep the holiday spirit going, I’ve included a little Christmas present image with this post. I hope it brings you a smile while I continue working on the upcoming content.
Thank you again for your patience, your kindness, and your ongoing support.
Wishing all of you happy holidays and a great start into the new year!

The team split was due to a unfortunate situation. Gzone's good friend and work colleague died (I think suicide but can't remember), Gzone became depressed and distanced himself from the rest of the world. This lasted several months, the rest of the team couldn't get hold of him and they hadn't been paid. When he came back the team said they would help with the current update of the time but that was the last work they do for him.

I mean sure that's unfortunate really sad, but isn't that still Gone fault? I mean a simple communication to it's team saying one of the devs and his best friend died and he would be unable to pay them or would pay them for whatever work they did to that point but than it would stop for a few months. People still got bills to pay and all that and then the rest of the team would either be understanding and wait with maybe some side jobs or forget this completely and jump ships. I'm saying this bc as someone who played both of his games but played this one early on I can say with 100% certainty that the updates are so slow that I have jumped ships not only that but Amity park is starting to also sink with the big update times and the new art.

You misunderstand me, i wasn't defending what Gzone did, i was simply stating what happened.

IDK if it's okay to share that (if it's true), it's quite a personal matter

You are right, before the whole incident the old team had their issues too, they had many chances to improve the game (like making the choice of Rika and the wolfman work) and they didn't, they also had the example of Breeding Season and they left the pit as bare bones as possible

Man what's up with monster breeding games why are they always a mess I play the other one cloud meadow and that one is also so hard bones in relation to the monster breeding that you can simply play almost the entire game without touching it. We are never getting a breeding season true successor.

They lack a project manager and a work methodology like scrum. Both games have talented people who don't know how to work

How many scenes are gonna be in the game?
What's the story gonna be like?
There would be many mcs?
How difficult is gonna be to add new scenes ?
How much can the team wok in the game?

When I talked about keeping Rika NTR stuff I was not only trolling but considering the work that was already done and what is gonna take to rework that part, the same for the female mc it was a dumb idea because the game was not thought to have both mcs

Main problem is as other's said in various ways that they do not have an overarching gameplan for the game.

A breeding game requires 3 things to work. 1. The management section (usually breeding pen and selling of monsters). 2. Some form of a story (bare minimum to establish the world and why this situation occurs) 3. Art work.

Many attempts at breeding games fail at the first requirement because difficulty, ease of use features and milestone challenges do not scale over time.

The few that make it past the first hurdle then fail the second as these stories are being created in a patron setting which incentives just adding more content (padding) than reaching a conclusion. The genres in general also can be difficult to write a story around because there are limited opposition forces to work with. This is effectively a company story of either a start up or an older company needing to be revitalized. Your opposition is either debt, the goverment, a personal rivalry with another monster breeding company or just pure economic survival. You could argue this game and breeding season were the goverment as your opposition but I honestly can't say it really is from either story. The debt should have been the main opposition in this story but it does not matter.

Most of these games focus on the art work as just like extending the story it is incentivised by patron. It honestly is not bad that they do their best to make solid artwork for the game but they commonly add more monsters as time goes on meaning more effort is needed per monster added.

Compared to many games genres this is both a tall ask and requires disaplin most creators don't have. This is why you need a good team manager, outlines and a good foundation to pull off these types of games or they will end up in development hell. Teams who have all of this understand the undertaking required and pass on making these games. Many teams which think they have a great idea for this and attempt to do so often lack one or more of the traits needed to pull it off and thus the curse.

Compared to other genres attempts are less numerous so we don't hit the odds and we have less community historical documentation to help developers avoid the pitfalls often seen.

The only breeding game I have seen taking a smart approach was monster black market.

These games don't need a world record on number of nsfw scenes implemented in one game, I think BF has two great mistakes one is not keeping things simple, the game could have been finished a long time ago but they kept adding stuff. the other one is the story, not using the pit in the vast majority of the quest doesn't make sense.

The developers should see and learn from what japanese developers do, they don't try to make it all in one game but they release several ones that build on the older games (monster girls quest, funbang fantasy, etc)

Monster girl quest and monster girl paradox certified bangers played both on my Android 10/10 anyway I'm gonna use cloud meadow in this example cloud meadow has almost 10 years of development and it's still so hard bones it's sad. Major side characters important to the story getting pixilated sex scenes instead of the animated ones like the monster's get and one of cloud meadow most unique mechanic the gene-driver that allows our Human protagonists to transform into ancient long dead monster species has almost 0 effect on the story and 0 sexy scenes like come on one of the most unique and cool looking game mechanic I have heard in a few years and it's almost wasted in cloud meadow.

I think Patreon / crowd funding is the issue. Why would you bother finishing your game when your making plenty of money doing nothing.

Monster Black market did a very good job on being a primary management focused breeding game. I have played it myself and liked it.

Breeding season and every other variant have attempted to go into a more story focused breeding game which is not a bad idea. That said they normally fail to tie the storyline into the breeding gameplay loop other than adding in new monsters which they go too far on. Realistically there likely should only be 10 monster (enteties able to enter pit) types in these games if you are doing 2d graphics. This would not be a hard rule as something like only certain monsters can mate with one another could reduce images needed. The story needs to tie into the breeding gameplay loop. The creators would also need to avoid just maintaining a status quo or just having one thing behind an entire branch. Actually having a decent story is minimum when trying to make a breeding game with a greater balance towards the story.

There was a visual novel "breeding like game" I have played in the past which was very focused on the story while still having management aspects which was decent. It was no where near what I would call a real breeding game but had the base elements of monster girls in a farm setting which you get pregnant. Game is called Greener Pastures and is likely the best example of what the opposite extreme for a breeder game could be modeled like.

Sadly I think so too. Specially nowadays you really notice that in terms of sex games the ones that have Patreon etc, are the ones that normally take the most to update or they milk their can base for everything they got.
