I have my own doubts about the style of his programming and the huge task before him but we should enjoy the ride as long as possible ...
Yeah, I can agree that he is making his life more difficult and tasks more complex than necessary. E.g. statistic sheets are real life stats and he could cut it half and game wouldn't loose anything from current POV.
I'm concerned too that this huge task he put in front of himself can kill the game in way that it will become too much for dev to connect all dots he made, so he'll ultimately abandon game. Hope I'm wrong
I liked your mentioning of Chloe18 'cause I like that game very much. Although this game is visually and technically superior to C18, our dev can learn something from C18 team: they stripped stats to basic 3-4 categories which made devs and players' lives easier.

- special facility for fighting is to be expected.
If facility is introduced just for collecting stats it is again too much work, but if some story related action is connected with, then

TECH ISSUE: Colours/contrast.
Blue used as main colour for background on saves, inventory, stats... is very nice, but when certain colours are used with that background it makes text of certain colours invisible: see here
as you can see "Open (8)" is not so visible although it's very magnified. I barely noticed that text on normal display. Why letters are not white or black, yellow...
SAVE/LOAD PAGE
no pages browsing arrows (<>) no Autosave or Quicksave marks (A / Q) although they all exists. You need to guess where these symbols should be
