Ren'Py - Business of Loving [v0.13.5i] [Dead End Draws]

Quite unique take with interesting art style, but the game does not really shine and tries to do too many things at once.
Story starts slow with some mechanic explanations, you keep progressing linearly through story and depending on stat you get scenes, then you can make another choice and that's about it. Feels much more like kinetic novel rather than any type of a game where you would need to actually progress and have any control over the scenarios it plays out.
Overall although it has very slow start and very predictable story and plot, in more latest versions it becomes bit more better and unique, but still has a lot to go to be above average game, hoping to see more progress in future releases.

Definitely a 5/5 game for me. Unique but decent art style. Freedom to choose between vanilla romance and degradation. Hot humiliation scene. TBH as a sandbox game, this game doesn't seem to be grindy, each time you get a new scene when progress with a character. The only con for me right now is not enough content for Kim.

I pirated this game, so I should at least leave a review to show the author my appreciation. I loved this game. Sure, there is not a lot of animation, the characters are cartoonie, it is a little buggy (I had a game breaking bug with Charlotte's route), but g-damn this is a great game. I only tried the romance route with Lilly and it was pretty ok. I did the degrading route with everybody else. The degrading route with Mom was pretty, pretty, pretty hot. I knocked her up and we are living in Utah as Mother/Wife and Son/Husband. Patty's office whore route was gold, baby! I am not sure if this is getting no respect b/c of all the possible digital dudes banging the potential LIs, but it is pretty steamy. I will circle back when this is finished and give it the old five-fingered hammer jammer again.

i love this game

It has what i have been looking for. A younger teen that falls in love with a small cast of older women. And the best part was also including the incest between mom and son ^^

What is great is the romantic option. I wish there was more sex options with the pregnancy, or even teh ability for the belly to get larger and for the woman to get hornier ^^

The progression for the ladies is nice, a tiny bit putt off by blowjobs but still over all great.

I keep track of the updates and download and replay whenever there is the chance.

All versions from old to new are great in my opinion.

I played this game when it first came out and honestly wasn't too impressed - however the recent changes to the art and development path have blown me away.

The premise is similar to what we typically see in these city-styled VNs, but where it takes a leap of faith is in the different paths. Don't get me wrong those are good games, but nothing new to the genre. Business of loving adds to this by having a regular path and a depraved path which adds different kinks depending on the characters, and they're very well done. The best being the sharing content IMO.

On top of that the new art is very well done, it still retains its old style but revamps it to a higher polished level - well done dev.

Overall, I'd give it a 4.5/5!

Edit: feel like I ought to come back and edit this review as rumors of NTR are fucking wild lol. The only way you will see NTR in this game is if you want to see NTR content. All the people complaining about NTR must have some sort of fetish about not only being cucked in a game, but also acting like they got upset by it on forums. Literally there is one choice: let your love interest go romantically engage with another man, or don't. Super obvious. Let her go? NTR. Don't? Literally you would probably be surprised to know that there ever was an NTR path. Not even a hint of NTR. Seriously looking down on the folks complaining about this, it's so embarrassing - give it a play yourself and you'll see. This is all coming from someone who hates NTR. Seriously, go check out my About page on my profile where I list all my 5 star games, I have long prefaced it with my interests and NTR is on the "fuck off" list. Anyone claiming NTR is a concern in this game needs to touch grass.

I've been waiting on reviewing this one for a while because I had faith it would get to 5 stars one day and imo today it's there. I haven't played it in quite some time. It was 3-4 stars when I played it last, but since then it has been rewritten some and overhauled and I must say it is in a great place today. I still haven't played all the new content that was recently added but replaying just one of the two mom paths was great. No progress walls. Not too slow, not to fast. Handies to blowies to fuckies to anal to preggo to preggo sex, it's wonderful if you're looking for more of that type of incest mom content.

I haven't encountered any NTR, heard it exists with one of the females but is avoidable. She did try to go out on a date with a guy one night but I was able to stop it and she apologized for even trying so maybe there is an optional NTR branch there? Idk, maybe things have changed since but reactions to this seem very dramatic imo.

And, creme de la creme - fucking voice acting! What the hell, when was that added??? Yeah I mean it's not perfect, I think one voice actress is used for all characters, but damn it's wonderful to hear that audio - kinky shit, trust me, reminds me of Snow Daze voice acting

It's a gem imo, gonna have to find some space on the 5 star list for this one. I should add that there are some bugs in this version which I assume will get cleaned up (ex: scenes not rendering images, navigation in the house breaks towards the end and you can never go into the living room but I don't think you need to, etc). I assume these will get cleaned quickly but even if they don't, it's still an excelllent experience if the kink list aligns with your own, imo.

The art is fantastic, I truely love it.
Unfortunately that is all the good. Now for the bad

The game constantly breaks your saves when it updates. Making it effectively unplayable.
Releases are extremely slow.

There was a recent Remaster... which didn't fix bugs, didn't improve art...
what it did was remove pregnancy sex scenes, remove a bully scene, and added netorare. Overall there are less scenes than before the remaster... why?

Then there is the dreaded netorare.
A game explicitly about "loving" suddenly gets unexpected netorare out of nowhere.
coinciding with a (failed) kickstarter.
Dev totally shocked this had backlash.

Promises no more will be added but refuses to remove it...
A "compromise" that appeals to literally nobody.
NTR lovers hate it because there is just 1 NTR scene in the game with a promise of never any more.
NTR haters hate it because it stays in the game.

The actual implementation of the netorare was atrocious.
Take the sweetest most loyal girl, who is the most vanilla and had the slowest burn romance.
A girl who is a romantic, takes things slow, and dislikes rude disrespectful men.
Well turns out it was all a facade.
A rude asshole asks her on a single date and she suddenly becomes a whore.
Meaning everything we know about her is a lie.
RIP char development.

Development has been incredibly slow, with no real direction to speak of. The main paths feel hollow, the ones with the extended characters are empty, and rather than put effort into fleshing them all out, the dev is just expanding into new territory with more half-baked characters, with updates coming maybe twice a year. But hey, at least we've got a MILF character who's voiced by someone who sounds like they're still in High School.

Played the game once or twice but it's nothing special. Was hoping for the project to flourish but it seems that the author is making some questionable decisions.

Here are my thoughts while playing (0.10i)

• Typical for f95 for people to get so mad over NTR. The scene is obviously optional so if you don't like it, just don't click the NTR choice. Though some people have said that the scene is poorly written as is, so take that as you will.
• The scene/points meter doesn't work as of 0.10i so thats a little annoying.
• Voice and sound effects are a nice touch but for some reason the door sound effect is very abrasive, but that's just me.
• I don't know about anyone else, but didn't Lorraine used to be chubbier? I kinda feel like her waist is a little too thin for her to be portrayed as chubby.
• Maybe I'm just horribly depraved, but maybe it isn't fetish-y enough. Besides the whole incest gimmick (which is really nice btw), it feels kinda vanilla in what the characters do. There's some embarrassment and voyeurism here or there but it's not overly kinky beyound that. Whether that's a good or a bad thing that's up to you.
• I also think maybe character design could be changed a little. Almost every character is "thicc and a little chubby with big tits" and it'd be nice if we could get some more variety. I also think some of the older implemented characters could be touched up a little for variety sake (idk, add pubes/body hair, breast veins or different nipples to Lorraine or other charcters, maybe that's just my kink talking).
• I quite liked the dress-up mode, and it'd be cool if it was brought back and expanded (adding more clothing options, maybe let Patrons choose outfits to add or something).

Overall, it's a pretty neat game, and other than a few complaints I've found it quite enjoyable. It's got room for improvement, but so does every game out there. I'd maybe just say that it doesn't really "stand out" against other games out there. I think it kinda needs to double down on a specific fetish or something like that (pregnancy, incest, you name it) to really get a name for itself.

I'd give it a solid 3.5 stars if I were allowed.

Version reviewed: v0.10i

And in many ways, the v0.9i version is actually superior to the v0.10i "remaster". I don't understand what this remaster was supposed to achieve? A number of animated sex scenes from v0.9i was removed and all the mom pregnant sex scenes was removed (some of my favorite CGs actually), that funny scene with the sister's bully has been removed. So what we get is essentially a rushed ntr scene and a lower number of animated scenes which doesn't really differ in quality from the previous update's animations? This newer version actually has a lower number of CGs than the previous version so this actually a regression, not an update. Art style is almost exactly the same, all technical issues that have been plaguing the game for years are also still present in the game, I have absolutely no idea how this qualifies as a remaster.

The one positive thing is that you have a diverse cast of milfs, a goth chick and a ditsy policechick to pursue. Story doesn't really take itself seriously but I also like how you don't have to grind a lot in the initial stages to get lewd scenes. However, there are still quite a large number of empty areas in the map as a lot of these locations still remain as placeholders.

I've been playing this game for a couple of years now and its frustrating playing the updates as there is no save compatibility between the updates. These issues have been present for several years now, its very strange that its not been addressed yet? You're telling me after all these years of coding the game, the dev still doesn't possess the coding knowledge to fix this recurring issue. An issue which is fixed in most sandbox AVNs these days. So we just have to accept the fact that we have to start the game all over again, go through all the clicky grind all over again, whenever an update drops.

Now the elephant in the room is that infamous cuckoldry scene. Now, I don't care about ntr. I don't like it, I don't hate it. However, I do care about ruining a character's development just to drop in a quick ntr scene for the sake of fetish/genre diversity. Throughout Lorraine's (the mom) character development, you can clearly tell that she is a character that does not appreciate men that rush into sex. She is a romantic, likes to takes things slow and get to know the person first. You understand that this is a character that likes people that are kind and respectful, you understand that this is a character that dislikes people that are rude, disrespectful, and want to use her solely for sex. Now imagine that, suddenly, all her dislikes didn't matter anymore. Everything you narratively understood about the character suddenly didn't matter anymore. Why? Cause the developer needs an excuse to instill jealousy in the player's mind by having her arbitrarily sleep with someone other the mc. All the character development, gone, due to the random need to insert this fetish. Even if I was an ntr fan, I'd be upset it was added in such poor way whilst also disrupting the narrative you have established with this character.

This is a game I've been following for quite a while now and its something I've so desperately wanted to succeed but there are quite a bit of "weird" development decisions combined with frustrating technical gameplay issues that have been troubling it for a while now.

The game is great, the character design and the design, I really liked this game, I enjoyed it a lot, it's very fun, the characters I liked the most were the two milfs Lorraine and Lily, although Lily was the only one he had a relationship with. It didn't have sex, I'd like her to have them in the next updates and I'm even ashamed of her and Kim's boss, I hope the creator still indulges in this kind of painting, it's really cool.

I don't even care that much about the added, apparently optional, un-asked-for NTR cash grab, I'm just sick of having to completely restart this game every single time it updates to be able to do anything.

Every update breaks something horribly and prevents accessing large chunks of the game if you don't restart.

I finished all content last update and the literal only thing I can do on loading my save this update was watch 2 old lily scenes and after that clicking anything that isn't the time change button pulls up an error screen

After skipping through the game there was a random scene in a completely different art style that looked like one of the old mspaint flash games you'd see on newgrounds in the early 2000s, aside from that I don't recall much actually new content that lasted more than 3-4 lines
Granted, I don't know how much is actually new, as the in game tracker doesn't seem to want to work either.

Version Played: 0.8i

Games with original art are always going to get a second look from me and while this is far from the best I've seen, there is a charm to it. Sadly, the story is barely there and there isn't much cohesion between, well, anything, which makes this just a loosely connected series of sexual encounters.

Positives:
+ Original art with some animations (the later ones are fairly well-done)
+ Easy to access content


Negatives:
- Art-style is amateur and may not be for everyone
- Story is not fleshed out and characters barely exist beyond slight archetypes

I basically saw all there was to see in under two hours. Nothing really screamed super hot to me, but I think with some more attention paid to the writing and working to make the story and character interactions more cohesive this could be improved.

This gets a 2, but I will continue to watch and revise upwards as warranted.

Notes to Dev: Try to focus on the story and have the characters interact more with each other. The later art and animations showed a marked improvement over the earlier stuff, so keep at it!

The game is excellent, the character design and the drawing, I really liked this game I enjoyed it a lot, very entertaining, the characters that I liked the most were the two milfs Lorraine and Lily, although Lily was the only one with whom she did not have sex, I would like her to have them in future updates and I even have an embarrassment for her and the boss Kim, I hope the creator continues to make content with this type of drawing, it is really great 100%,

As a dev myself I'd like to pre-face this review with what I think is important to say that I'm just giving my honest opinions and that I wish every Dev well because I know from first hand experience how hard it is to develop a game and if nothing else, devs deserve praise for the effort they put into their games. Also, I believe honest reviews HELP the game or future games get better. That being said, here's my review.

I really like this game for several reasons. The first most important reason is that it's FUN. It isn't trying to be anything more or less than that. The art is unique and looks good in my opinion. It's not the best out there but it's good enough. Obviously this is tailored to the milf lovers out there. As one of them it hits the spot for me.

Now for the bad. This has been mentioned before but the open world concept fails here. Things don't happen in sequence so you trigger events in what seems to be in a random fashion. Im sure it wasnt meant to be but thats how it plays out. For instance, a threesome route pops out of the blue and you can advance it which leads to scenes that normally should not happen. I.E. you haven't completely romance the Lorraine character and yet your fucking her in a threesome...then you go back to her route and you're backtracked to her barely kissing you, doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

There's also the fact this game is basically a clone of tons of other games in the same genre (summer saga types) but that's okay. It's not trying to be something original so that's fine with me.

In the end, I'm kind of torn about my rating. I had fun playing it! I liked it! Is there alot of problems? Yes. But my enjoyment seems to block out those problems and that's why I give it 4 stars. I don't know if this game can be fixed, it will probably be a mess to fix it now without scrapping it and starting over, but I think the dev will learn alot from this one and his next one might just be a 5 star game.

This game proves that it doesn't need the best drawnings to be awsome. The girls are very hot, and, the better: there are a good amount of content for each one and this includes threesomes and even pregnancy.

This game has a lot of pottential, and as it is developed, even more sex scenes, including, threesomes, i hope, will be added, so it will be very good to follow it.

Overall it's a good game but unfortunately the incest edition is full of annoying bugs where some of the scenes recollection displayed errors and MC intermittently landed in unrelated random locations after selecting choices.

The problem with this game isn't the art. The models actually look quite good. The issues come with making this a sandbox/free roam game when it doesn't have the structure for it. The progression of events isn't logical. For example, you can enter the living room and click on a character repeatedly and time doesn't move forward. Not every hand-drawn 2D game can be Summertime Saga. I think making this a VN would be the right strategy. Also, there needs to be a bigger focus on the story.

I love the art style, for the type of MILF busty look it works better than you'd think, and there's plenty of sex scenes, so it's got some good core elements.
Unfortunately the game play is rough, even the cheats aren't really enough to overcome it, a game that needs either some refinement in it's progression as you play or an up to date walkthrough to spell things out so you're not wandering and wondering.
Overall it's average because of that combination, if it ever cleans up the latter it could rise, if it gets worse it could become too grindy for the reward, but for now I'd say it's still worth giving a go.
Plus it has a nursing scene that's just a bit of well drawn milk out of the breast from being perfect so, I'll give it that.
