I see plenty of "This latest release is very buggy", and even the author acknowledges that saving is buggy.
I take one glance at the folder structure and think to myself "GEE, I WONDER FUCKING WHY!?"
Live2D and other are empty folders, the "do not open" seems to just have a joke txt and sound file. From a glance, it's impossible to know which folder/files are the latest
Now, I know folder and file organization don't explain bad code, but they sure as hell do point to someone who doesn't know very well what they're doing.
Checking the libraries, I noticed a number of other live2d javascript files, so a quick google led me to this game's engine:

if its in reference to what i think it is its really weird and there's urethral penetration, so id advise against it, but the artist's name is tetterun if i remember correctly. Strongly recommend avoiding it altogether though.

Dev just updates it at a glacial pace. You can see their stuff on kemono, but anything for the game is few and far between.

The dev keeps it under heavy wraps. Has a special room on his discord where you need to request access to after becoming a patron to get the PW to the latest build. So that murders any chance for word of mouth to boost it's popularity- fun fact he got the most new patrons after it was leaked here but still keeps new builds under all these layers.
But yeah, not so much dying as being kept on very very slim life support.

I've put together a file with saves before some of the significant moments, for people who want to get straight to it:
Extract it in the game's main folder alongside the .exe
I'd recommend checking Brontanius' post here for some advice about choices, although note that I didn't get the bug he did when picking the blue mixture - the rest of the saves after are following that path.
This is for the z3.0 version in the original post, not the Extra Cream version linked later in the thread.
