I really hope Poring can get the game on Steam. This is one of my favourite hentai games and shows a lot of quality. One thing I've seen a few hentai games do, to get accepted on Steam, is cut out the "offending" content and just offer it seperately (also often outside of steam) as an uncensor patch. Of course that necessitates Steam support being cooperative enough to say what exactly prevents the game from "meeting Steam standards".
Overall I have to say that Steam has become pretty disappointing in terms of their game selection over the years, there are countless absolute shitshows being published there as games every day. From scammy, cheap asset flips over games literally built with almost exclusively stolen assets to barely or just non-functional games. So with that apparent lack of quality control it seems pretty ridiculous for this game to be denied. I really hope Steam get their shit together and work something out with poring.
-This part gets extra ranty and controversial, so be warned.
About the porn purge that is going on (especially against loli hentai), in my humble opinion this is just some conservative hypocrisy bullshit again. Pretty similar to the violent video games debates, it's again all about using an actual serious problem to try and nuke something that isn't really the problem and is just more of a personal crusade. With video games it was mental illnesses and trying (and failing) to nuke video games instead of admitting that society has a problem with caring for peoples mental health; with porn the leading argument I've seen is child pornography and admittedly there was apparently some of that shit on pornhub, but that was never a prime place for that to spread. It's like nuking an entire city because a handful of the buildings there have been used for really bad stuff like human trafficking. Actions like this don't really hit the people it should be aimed at much, but everyone else gets hit pretty hard. Pornhub has become completely irrelevant to me after the purge, because all the stuff I liked is gone and I can't find anything similar on that site. Discord NSFW servers constantly struggle with the question "is it loli or is it ok?", many servers just establish their own (and often very different) rules for it and spark pretty much constant debates when they get enforced; a lot of loli stuff has effectively just had the tag removed but still exists on sites where you get 0 results when searching for loli.
All because actually hunting down the producers of child pornography and establishing better protection systems for children is too much work and wouldn't get quick results. On that note, let's remember the FBI taking over and keeping a child pornography site on the dark web (namely Playpen, you can look it up on wikipedia and news sites) up and running to catch the visitors with rather mixed results and some critics of that operation even saying they purposefully increased traffic by improving the site.
I think part of the problem is the absolute, sheer and unbridled hatred that pedophiles face (sure, I don't know if I could control myself either, if I was talking to someone who might rape my kids or their friends one day), because that means pedophiles are by default outcasts and have to keep their sexuality hidden under all circumstances. So seeking help to control their urges is out of the question out of fear of getting shunned by society or worse. Despite it being recognized as a psychiatric disorder aka a mental illness and not a choice or something. Just like no school shooter just chooses to kill people and instead is being driven there by their deteriorating mental state and the lack of help for it they receive.
OK, rant over. Mods (in case any stumble upon this), I stand by what I said above, but I respect that this might not be the place for such takes. So if I spark some fierce off-topic debate here or something, I'm OK with removing this post in the interest of keeping this a decent place. And to everyone else, I am open for debate but keep it civil and on-topic if possible, if not let's take it somewhere else.
