I think this way, players have a precise idea of what they are buying and they know the game works on their device beforehand. Much better than patreon's blindly buying promises system.
Haven't played this yet, but I have played 100s of similar games.
At this point, given the average dev time of single-author porn games, I would expect a new game to get abandoned within 6-18 months in about 80% of all cases. In the other 20% of cases, I would expect a game to get finished in 2-4 years. Asking me to commit actual real money to a new, unproven project that uses ai assets is where the ballsyness comes from.
tldr: make a good game before asking for $ in-game. It's fine to open an optional patreon for fans who want to chip in.
