I'm pretty indifferent about it. I don't get so overly attached to fictional characters that it will impact my psyche or something. It can add a lot to the story if done correctly.

The annoying thing about it in gaming generally is that you waste all those exp that you invested in the character (Aerith...). It's an extra dose of F U if they make you lose all the equipment on that character too lol.

Personaly i welcome it if its a choice. Maby if you kill said girl, then another survives, but if you dont kill her it will lead to the other girl dying. it is all about how you set up the girl and give the attachment and give the player feel like they have a choice and not a choice at the same time.

Near the start of Polarity you spend the night at your new girlfriend's house and while you're away from home a psycho murderer kills your dog and sets your house on fire.

Comes in with almost no build up or warning. Was not expecting it at all. Did an okay job of making me sad for the fictional fido despite having only met it once or twice.

Oh yeah, and sorry for spoilers for a game that was rudely abandoned by it's dev like 3 years ago.
(Yes, I'm still salty about that.)

Not fond of it.
Mostly because i already murder people by the dozens in other games.
I tent to play porn games for the psychologic effect of breaking woman into bitches.
Corruption is way more fun then killing.
Why ruin it with murder?
